ARCHIVED Just Sharing Some Sites I Found, gluten-free Cooking One, And A Flax Recipes
JNBunnie1 replied to Ivanna44's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Actually, the omega-3's in flax are somewhat more difficult to digest, especially for women, so you might want to stick with the fish oil anyway. Maybe every other day or something. It's got a lot of vitamins in it that flax doesn't as well. -
Your doctor is right, if you show improvement, that's pretty good confirmation. Otherwise, you've gotten some really good advice already!

Y'know what's wierd, I've never liked spicy food much, but for the past few months I've been peppering the crap out of everything! What would pepper have in it that I would need, you know? Just wierd.

ARCHIVED Ideas For Professional Bag In Which To Take Food To Restaurant
JNBunnie1 replied to Missouri Farmer's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'd buy a 'manbag' or some thing similar and a small squishy cooler that will fit inside. -
ARCHIVED No More Mexican Food!
JNBunnie1 replied to Gluten=bad's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
They may have also fried the cornn tortillas in the shared fryer real quick before wrapping the enchilada. On The Border does that. -
Larry, I'm sorry, but I have to seriously question the wisdom of recommending to someone who's clearly dealing with depression that they go smoke some dope. I mean really. To the original poster: I hope you do come back and read some messages, I hope it wasn't a vent-n-run. My recommendation? Go see a therapist. Please! Get a massage too. That's way...

ARCHIVED Chocolate Covered Cherries Recipe
JNBunnie1 replied to Glutenfreefamily's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Y'know, that looks really good, but I'm way too lazy for all that work. I took Enjoy life choc chips, melted them, stirred in a bit of shortening, and dipped strawberries in that. Way easier, and even better than godiva, because the chocolate doesn't break apart and off the berry when you bite in, it stays stuck on the berry. You're much more adventurous... -
That's interesting, I actually get turned off from food when it's too salty. I rarely add it to anything, I use sea salt though, so it tastes better and stronger. My addiction post-gluten-free? Whole Foods Choc chip cookies when I discovered them (in the freezer section), and the gluten-free pretzels! They're so much better than normal ones, I was never...

ARCHIVED Need Help Figuring Out What Is Going On With My Sleep
JNBunnie1 replied to Sarah8793's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Melatonin is a good, safe place to start. Start with one milligram for a few days, then two if that's not helping enough. I actually find that I have to eat a LOT right before bed, or else I wake up hungry. But my metabolism is faster than a speeding bullet, so that certainly wouldn't apply to everyone. -
ARCHIVED I Just Want Them To Stop
JNBunnie1 replied to VioletBlue's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
Actually, I think you're right. I never slept well all my life, major insomnia, until I was truly gluten free. I've had some of the gluten dreams, but mostly I've had the randomest, stupidest, scariest, or wierdest dreams you can freakin imagine. My Daddy used to say he knew he slept good because he dreamed funny. I think your brain is 'turning back on'.... -
ARCHIVED Products Better Than Gluten Ones?
JNBunnie1 replied to Rpm999's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I disagree. A lot of what I bake is far better than gluteny stuff I used to have. My boyfriend who eschews gluteny stuff in favor of my cooking agrees. -
ARCHIVED Against The Grain
JNBunnie1 replied to a1sacch's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I read that people who tend to prefer dark meat (poultry and red) need more iron? I would guess that our tastes do tend to reflect our nutritional needs. I have to chime in and say YES! Against The Grain stuff is freakin unbelievable. That's how I made my first garlic bread in years. Slice lengthwise and douse with pureed roasted garlic and melted butter... -
Didn't I read that Sami's is totally not safe?

Ditto. For me it's 48 to 72 hours.

ARCHIVED Barbecue Sauce Help Please....

Maybe puree some raw red pepper? It's very sweet, actually, and might be an ok replacement for ketchup. -

I didn't see the show, but I did see a clip of Michael Johns singing Aerosmith and that's the first time I've liked him. I still don't think he's attractive though. He just looks... tense. I gotta look up the clips of the other performances. I do like Jason Castro, he's the kinda guy I'd go see in a cabaret setting, not the kinda guy who sells out civic centres... -
ARCHIVED Entrees You Can Freeze!
JNBunnie1 replied to ratgirl's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I mad eggplant 'parmigiana' casserole. You start browning a pound of ground meat, and slice the eggplant 1'4 inch thick. Layer one layer of eggplant in a greased casserole. Add a jar of sauce to the browned meat, stir and let it bubble with esome extra seasonings to yur taste if you like, or just take it straight to the casserole. So, one layer eggplant,... -
In my experience, the Kinnikinnik waffles have definitely been the best. And don't wait for gluten-free waffles to get brown in the toaster, only toast them for 3-4 min and then test them with the knife to see if they're crispy, if you wait til they get brown they're rock hard and awful. I put cream cheese on my waffles too! For the pancakes, try using...

The pure stuff will be best for you anyway, try not to go too overboard with it though. I actually use it to flavor my pancakes and then just butter them and roll them up, sometimes with cream cheese inside. Or I put applesauce on top.

What's going on with your tonsils is actually not the CAUSE of any infection, but the RESULT of systemic overload. It is a very good warning sign, one that you would be without should you get them removed.

First time you do it, do it in the shower, cuz if you're not used to it, you can make a BIG mess........ (Yes, I'm speaking from personal experience.)

ARCHIVED The American Idol Thread...2008
JNBunnie1 replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I do tend to find that my tastes differ from a lot of women's. I actually don't think Michael Johns is attractive at all, he sneers when he sings. Totally puts me off. 'Tennis Boy' was referring to a promo spot they ran about a guy who's 'surpising thing about himself' is that he plays tennis. Gee, that's fascinating. I don't remember which one of them that... -
ARCHIVED Quinoa...gross!
JNBunnie1 replied to MelliDuff's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I find Kasha in the international aisle of my grocery store. I also make quinoa beads, but I put the water and quinoa in the pot and then add applesauce. I'd say about 1/2 cup of applesauce to 1 cup of quinoa, and I add it at the start of cooking. I like it that way, I also find it not that appetizing plain. -

Ok, why would you need to close your eyes to like David Cook? I think he's freakin adorable. And Paula was right when she said women like smart men. I wouldn't want Tennis Boy to father my children, sorry. I'd pick the guy who understands me when I use big words. And he's so cute!
