    Yeah, I find myself about two inches from the screen because the font is so small and light, and I'm only 23, it's not like I need reading glasses. I'm sure I'll get used to the other stuff, and the darker greenis much more pleasant, but the small font is giving me a headache.

  5. Also, if you have the time to bake your sweet potatoes in the oven, I find that I don't need any butter. They're also good diced and sauteed in coconut oil.
  6. That's alright. There is a baking and recipes section- I would go there for ideas. For now, I do have a few. Wendy's chili is gluten free, so there's an easy one. Tinkyada pasta is made from rice and is the general favorite on the board, I have served it to people and they didn't notice anything different from wheat pasta. I personally hate the Deboles brand...
  7. I think if I were in your position I'd skip the biopsy too. The thing is that there is no false positive blood test, if it says you have it then you have it. The biopsy is considered the 'gold standard' and I'm not sure why, as there is no risk of false positive through blood testing. Personally, I think it's just a way for hospitals to make more money, but...
  8. Actually, there are people wih active Celiac disease who have no symptoms. Symptomology isn't really a good way to confirm or deny Celiac because the range is so great, that's why a lot of doctors have trouble accepting that hair loss and tingly feet can be signs of a digestive disorder.   11. I suppose I was just trying to offer guilt as a motivation. Guilt for what you do to yourself isn't nearly as powerful as feeling guilty over what you might do to other people. Thank you for your sympathies. Or you could try this way of thinking: Think how much your work might benefit were your brain functioning better all the time! And, I have some rocking...
  12. I make my own pizza with pre-made crust from the Gluten-free Bakehouse line Whole Foods has. Also, I have to think that if you have intestinal damage enough to cause anemia, then you probably have the technical definition of Celiac. What makes you diffrentiate and say otherwise?
  13. Just keep in mind that spinach is a very mild flavor compared to some other greens. Arugula is spicy, collard greens and mustard greens are bitter and might be better in a V8-type drink.

  15. Oh, itchy leg foot cramps- that's a glutening! You don't get that stuff from a stomach bug.
  16. Um, no honey, too? I have lots of honey-sweetened recipes. For veggies, baked sweet potatoes need no additives for me. And lightly saute green beans in olive oil and chopped garlic. Spaghetti squash with spaghetti sauce. Trader Joe's organic in the can has no sugar added.

  19. I had fevers when I was sick with Celiac before I figured it out and went gluten free. Fevers seem relatively rare but certainly nothing unusual.
  20. I think if you squirt fluid vitamins under her tongue she will absorb them better. Also, breastmilk is a FABULOUS idea! Most people don't like the idea for some reason, but human breastmilk is one of the very best things you can give anyone who's sick.
  21. Try peeling and freezing a banana overnight, then in the morning throw that in with one cup yogurt and 1/4 cup (or more) of peanut or almond butter. Smooth butter, though. I find it doesnt even need sweetener, thanks to the banana. That's my favorite smoothie.

When my father was diagnosed with cancer last April, I spent two hours every morning for three weeks running back and forth to the bathroom. Which was kinda tough, because I worked at a hotel front desk and they don't like that...........
  23. It does sound like you have lactose issues right now, you just described how I felt after my last glutening when I was lactose intolerant for a week. If that's the case, then the whey wouldn't bother you. It's probably best to lay off anything with lactose, but if you MUST, take a lactase pill.
  24. I think you're fine, but ask yourself a couple questions. What ELSE feels wrong? Are you vomiting? Any funky rashes? I don't think jello will help, the brat idea is much better. Other than that, do you generally feel the way you did last time you got glutened?
  25. Stop that! So anyway, if it makes you feel any better, my first from-scratch muffin attempt was a complete disaster. I got hockey pucks. My boyfriend took them to work and came home and told me that the Mexicans (literally, he worked with mexicans) were like, "Hey man, those don't look like muffins, I'm not eating those". Feel any better? At least yours...
