I agree with the above suggestions--call and see your dentist again! You could indeed have dry socket and/or an infection. gluten-free Pain medicine also seems de rigeur. Meanwhile since you are eating so little it may already be you are having candida die off too. No food means no food for you or the little beasties! Besides the caprylic acid you might...

For myself I have problems both with hummus and peanut butter as well as eggs and most fruit. Apart from all that, I suggest as I have elsewhere that you take marshmallow root and/or slippery elm caps to help soothe and heal your intestines... Meanwhile I am doing so much better on the basic paleolithic diet. I can sleep etc.! Yay!! And yes my tummy is flat...

I have been at this for some time and have noticed major improvements. However I still had some nagging problems I chalked up to candida overgrowth. Now I am discovering that by going off all grains I not only have no fungal/eczema like problems, but also sleep considerable better. So yes, it appears it is wise to especially initially to go on a more cave...

Am still doing the oil pull at least 5 days a week. I seem to be overall sleeping better and have more energy in the morning--which is huge for me. My teeth feel better. Am not sure if they are looking better however I also drink various herb teas on occasion that may be staining my teeth. Am also mostly doing the paleo diet again. I find I am much better...

If you are having digestive difficulties, it might be better to avoid raw vegetables (and hot spices, garlic, onions) for now. Ditto with the wine since it may irritate your stomach and/or gut until you heal whatever inflammation you've got. Its best to eat warm (i.e., not cold or hot) food and liquids until you feel better. Meanwhile I agree with you...

ARCHIVED Most Important Vitamins To Watch Or Supplement For Coeliacs
YoloGx replied to UnhappyCoeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Mmm--I should do that again with the unrefined sea salt. I always use sea salt without the additives--but its still white. However I do remember that coincident with using the more costly unrefined brown sea salt I did a lot better. Still have to take extra trace minerals however... It seems I have had this celiac all my life. Bea -
ARCHIVED Most Important Vitamins To Watch Or Supplement For Coeliacs
YoloGx replied to UnhappyCoeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I agree with the above list. I would add that I at least also need to take trace minerals. When I don't I once again easily strain my ligaments. It helps too for me to eat yogurt for even more calcium and use apple cider vinegar esp. taken with my minerals for better absorption. When I can afford it, I also take E-zorb, the most absorpable calcium I know... -
ARCHIVED Everytime I Get Gluten Free For 6 Days Or More I Get Gluten Again
YoloGx replied to UnhappyCoeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
So sorry you are going through this. Making the transition can be very hard. However, I have discovered that the glutening in itself often makes me angry too. So its kind of its own perpetuating cycle. The thing is to get off of it. It messes with you mind and moods. It gets in the way of understanding and learning things well--and thus school. Not to mention... -
ARCHIVED Most Important Vitamins To Watch Or Supplement For Coeliacs
YoloGx replied to UnhappyCoeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I suggest you take the co-enzyme B vitamins since they are much more more absorpable. I use the ones by Country Life--and take them on an empty stomach. Take the B complex to make it easier on yourself. Its best to have the B's in balance with each other from what I have been told. Bea -
If you did want to conceal the fact you have celiac you could eat beforehand and just have some bottled water or fresh hot tea. With the water, make sure you go to the bathroom first however to wash the lid area before using. I actually got CC'd from bottled water at a bakery... I also often go back to ask the server and cook to at least wash their hands...

ARCHIVED Should I Detox?
YoloGx replied to SBisglutenfree's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Am glad my comments helped. Ive learned a lot from herbals. You might want to check some out. Try to stay away from anything that is a stimulant since celiac indicates one already has an overactive immune system. Actually its one reason I question using caffeine and chocolate. Certainly they don't work for me, however they seem to be fine for many here... -
Wouldn't and hasn't worked for me unfortunately. It was hard for me to believe but oh so true. I got sick after just having had a piece of bread on my plate which I had removed before eating...so I didn't even touch it. Bea

ARCHIVED Finding A Good Doctor....scary Stuff
YoloGx replied to GlutenGuy36's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I really agree with you. Though I think with some its not so much the money as a belief system that thinks celiac is really rare and the recent improved awareness of it is a fad. It kind of seems that the fact celiac exists so prevalently is almost an assault against the AMA's belief system about disease especially since it can affect one in so many different... -
ARCHIVED Should I Detox?
YoloGx replied to SBisglutenfree's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Depends on what you mean by detox. I have found a gentle herbal detox does help a lot as well as things like marshmallow root and slippery elm plus the usual enzymes, probiotics, minerals, b vitamins, D, E etc. The herbs I have used are dandelion root alternated with milk thistle for detoxing. Just use the caps or make a brew say with licorice root if you... -
Washing the hands often is a great idea. I do it to avoid gluten ingestion from being out and about. I can see it would be helpful to avoid bugs too.

I agree, it is wild. I do take the magnesium citrate and find that helps plus co-enzyme B vitamins. I also stretch and do yoga plus deep breathing which usually works like a champ. Recently I have found that by doing daily "oil pulling" (I use olive oil) my nerves are more relaxed and the problem seems to have suddenly vanished!! When and if I have...

I used to be sick constantly but don't any longer unless I get CC'd. I had to go off all trace glutens to turn my health around--not just part of the time off gluten. I have had to be a detective sleuth to get rid of all the gluten and still find additional sources even in building materials (I help renovate old houses). But it is definitely worth it to me...

ARCHIVED Could Sensitivity Be Directly Related To Diet Compliance?
YoloGx replied to Mike M's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Antihistimines do not help with this however so I wouldn't call it a strict allergic reaction. However it could be a "sensitivity" reaction. Chicken or egg question of course. I have found nevertheless that taking baking soda and apple cider vinegar as well as the usual remedies of probiotics and digestive enzymes really does help so there may be some truth... -
ARCHIVED Could Sensitivity Be Directly Related To Diet Compliance?
YoloGx replied to Mike M's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
While I do agree that may be part of it for some folks, I think that for others they just haven't had celiac that long thus they react less... It is an interesting question no matter what however. I know for myself I am sensitive to a lot more than gluten, so I am on the ultra sensitive side it appears. No fun but that's the way it goes. And from what I am... -
Hi AliB, I was on basically a paleo diet for many years (although I wasn't avoiding all trace glutens until a little over a year ago), but now find I can eat whole brown rice pretty regularly which I couldn't previously. I still can't handle eating any milk other than plain nonfat organic yogurt. I don't want to give up the new things I can eat however...

ARCHIVED Prolonged Intestinal Transit Time...
YoloGx replied to wschmucks's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Have you tried using magnesium citrate to bowel tolerance, and then back off a little on the amount? I find it works like a champ. I take 1 teaspoon a day, in half teaspoon doses. I take the last dose at night not long before I go to bed. Herbs that can help are yellow dock and oregon grape root, alternated (not taken at the same time). Use some licorice... -
ARCHIVED Residual Symptoms Or Slip Ups?
YoloGx replied to Beloved's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know what you mean. Going off even just the trace glutens made a hug dif. for me, gas wise so to speak...though I also have been avoiding sugar etc. Congratulations! And don't berate yourself. Its an easy mistake... Bea -
ARCHIVED Gas...how To Know The Difference?
YoloGx replied to foodiegurl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I rarely get gas anymore. Used to be I had the most foul farts! Due to having celiac and numerous food sensitivities. Now if I do have a problem and its not due to CC from gluten, it usually is with eating too much carbohydrate and/or sugar due to candida overgrowth sprouting up again... If it is an allergy taking some baking soda in water helps. If its... -
ARCHIVED Do Apples Make Anyone Else Constipated?

ARCHIVED 3+ Weeks Of Flare-ups And Counting
YoloGx replied to splash's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I don't get DH anymore if that is what I used to have (I have out and out celiac) but my mother does. I'll make sure she doesn't take ibuprofin etc.! Do you know if aspirin OK or not? My sis is having my mom take a little every day... Bea
