  1. if you are in the northeast area, i'd suggest grainlessbaker (grainlessbaker.com) thier sandwich bread is wonderful! If you have a sewing machine they are so easy to make, it's just a pillow with rice! Nothing special about the rice...just plain uncooked grains! If you want to get fancy and you have some sewing skills, you can make ones that wrap...
  2. I've always had a problem with nightime eating, I just could snack from 5-mindnight and never stop! I combated this pre-gluten-free with these little toosie roll things with Appetite Suppressants in them or dexatrim. Scince going gluten-free I have stopped both (The candies are not gluten-free, and still not sure about the dexatrim!) I dont' want anything...
  3. If at all possible try to get a pampered chef oil sprayer! It uses plain oil that you choose and sprays it like pam, only without additives and propellant! Much better for you! from my experinces, most of the bags are filled with rice or buckwheat, both of which are safe for us (unless you have a rice allergy of course!)
  4. I don't believe that one bit, This week I used a hand lotion (tiny dime sized dallop) that contained oat extract, and I was sick! my hair has been falling out for 7 years... I've been buying expersive shampoo to make my hair thicker.... it had wheat gluten. I changed bout 2 weeks ago to a different shampoo, and there is conciderable less hairloss when I...
  5. I was gluten free for about 3-4 weeks also before dairy started giving me problems My body just hates me.
  6. Mmm.. Gerdie's! I used to work right next to their plant... mmm... I blame them for my weight problems. Also hershey's! Until recently I've been eating Reeces PB cups, now that i'm getting away from dairy, i cut them out I went to the gluten free source about a month ago, about a week into being gluten free. I was still very much in shock over the huge...
  7. I know where Forest city is! Cute Town! This week I got the Graham crackers and bagels, the crackers were yummy! The bagels, not so much, but I'm gonna try again. I should have thought before I bought them - I just went dairy Free(ish)... no cream cheese or butter! grr... I've had the butterfly cookies....mmmm.... and I love their sandwich bread! I...
  8. I am from the East of Scranton area, Lake wallenpaupack actually. I was in that wegmans also this wekend, stopped in Saturday when I was on my way to Minooka Bakery (for grainless baker goodies!) My Parents live about 15 minutes from the Actual Grainless bakery, but they dont' sell there
  9. I'm actually orginally from the Scranton Area, and when I go home on weekends I go to Wegmans to stock up! I can't wait for Wegmans, though I have found Giant in Camp Hill has a good selection and the prices are ok. They also have gluten free classes and store tours. I have found prices for the same stuff that Gaint carries are cheaper at Wegmans in Scranton...
  10. I got some UTZ chips the other day, I was overjoyed they were Labeled as gluten free, and was going to send them a letter thanking them. While on website, i found this page! Open Original Shared Link I thought this was great that they provided information and posted it. They have become my exclusive Potatoe chip provider!

    ARCHIVED Looking For Help

I had to tell my doctor "I want the celiac blood panel done." She told me that she didn't think my symtoms fit, but agreed to at least try. It came back with anti-bodies, and she told me it was a good call on my part. I'd ask for the test, it's just a vial of blood. Could help her beyond belief!

    ARCHIVED Scared

Would your Husband's family hate you if you were diabetic? Had High Bloodpressure? Had Heart Disease? If you have celiac disease, take care of yourself, eat healthy and maybe you can avoid all the other problems further down the road. Would you rather be that picky lady who can't eat gluten, or that sickly lady with cancer, nerve damage, fibromyalsa,...
  13. I could see that if I didn't have 2 weeks of good BM's , and feeling good before the dairy started to effect me. To me it seems once my body got used to not eat gluten, it said "OH CRAP, she's feeling good....now how are we going to screw with her?!"
  14. If the problem is in your digestive system, I'd suggest Nuva ring. It does not involve the digestive system at all, the hormones are absorbed though your vaginal walls right into your blood stream. I like it because I don't have to remember to take a pill every day, and If I eat something that dosen't agree, it won't wash the pill out with the food...
  15. This reminds me of what my psychologist always said, " I know you feel better, it's the drugs, you can't stop staking the drugs just because you feel better! Then you won't feel better! " Ironically, I decided that the depression was better than the Drugs. Now i'm finding that gluten free is helping my depression.... excecpt when I dwell on all the...
  16. Now the issue is getting to the bathroom with enough spare time to put a drop in!
  17. I've heard that it sometimes takes a large dose of lactaid to help lactose intolerant people. Is there blood work or something they can test for? How come dairy is just starting to bother me now, 3 weeks after going gluten free?
  18. I use their touch of sun face mostuirzer, it doesn't list any thing on the box or bottle that looks like it could be gluten, and I've been using it without any problem. I have used this scince before going gluten-free, and it has always treated me well.
  19. I use 2% milk in my coffee, so it definitely has lactose. I actually use quite a bit too 1/4 milk, 3/4 coffee. I may try some pills... anything to help!
  20. Ok, I have thought about it, took your suggestions, and figured out it's Dairy that's makign me sick. Now I need to understand Dairy intolerance! How do I tell if it's a problem with lactose, or problem with casiens? What are the differences? Are they harming me(like gluten does to intestines), or just making me sick(making me run...
  21. I was under the impression that "modified food starch" as long as made in USA was from corn.
  22. If you can get to your GP, and they are somewhat openminded, I'd try to get an appointment ASAP and get the Celiac blood tests done. They need to still be done while you are eating gluten. This will give you a solid diagnosis, and that may be needed for some insurance purposes. But if you can't, don't fret, some people don't get diagnosed, they just respond...
  23. I've dabbled in Wiccan myself, I say dabbled because I don't feel "Wiccan" and I don't know a whole lot. I understand the Basics, I've atteneded a few Coven rituals, and tried a few rituals on my own, but I think i'm missing that "a ha!" moment that makes me feel like this is what I'm looking for. I actually feel alot like you, being raised Christian has...
  24. Um.... I think someone should tell Olay about DH!
  25. That is why I love Nuva Ring, It has a lower dose of hormones, thus keeping my sex drive intact. I use it to skip periods (haven't had one yet in 2007!) It's easier than remembering to take pills everyday, and If your on anti-biotics your still protected, and if you have digestive issues, your still good. Sorry.. just love my ring!
