  1. I have a BA in Psychology, 4 years of IT experince, but am working as a Bookkeeper. I hope to one day be the be the coolest stay at home mom, and run my own little business (stampin up, tupperware, pampered chef kinda thing). My kids will be perfect and I'll never break a sweat. I will also live in an awesome house with a waterfall in it. Until...
  2. My doctor, who isn't even gluten-free, eats tinkyada over regular wheat pasta! She says she just perfers the taste and texture!
  3. I love yoga, and have noticed a marked improvment in my back scince I started. I did a quick and dirty search for you and founf this page: Open Original Shared Link and Open Original Shared Link I do the second sequence daily when I get up in the morning to loosen and streach. oh, you can use a rolled up towel instead of a "yoga block...
  4. Thanks! I've been wondering about this stuff scince I was dx'd. I know I have an reaction to it, but was worried it was gluten. I'm good to go now, and my boyfriend thanks you!
  5. I have yet to try it, but there are coupons at coupons.com for it. I'm gonna go get some this week myself.
  6. Has anyone eaten Soy Delicious Ice creams? I found a whole bunch of coupons on Coupons.com for thier products and I checked out thier website and they seem to be very gluten free friendly. Are their products good? If anyone likes their stuff There are coupons at coupons.com they are good until august.
  7. Ok, so my lifestyle does not lend to eating at home very well. So last night, I left work at noon, had a job interview (didn't eat before it..just incase..) after interview I stopped at a gas station and grabbed cashews and cool ranch doritos. Then I had to drive 2 hours to my mother's retirement party.. at a pizza place of course. I figured between cashews...
  8. Before I was diagnosed, I suspected... I knew if i ate pasta for dinner I'd get D. I knew that if I ate steak.. i wouldn't. Ok so I would go out with my friends, and not order my usual pasta. They were all confused so i told them "I think i have Celiac disease and i'm gluten intolerant" my one friend said! "Oh I saw that on HOUSE! Do you hear voices? " I...
  9. The this is processed lunch meats, they can have fillers that have wheat. Usally if you go to the store and buy a regular fresh cut steak from the meat counter it is gluten free. I have heard though some stores add a solution to some meats to "plum them up"and you have to make sure that has no gluten. In my diet, I concider unprocessed meats gluten free...
  10. More Locals! I'm in Camp Hill (during the week at least!) I will have to see if the Chili's in Mechanicsburg is anygood. They just opened. Normally I eat El Rodeo if we feel like going out, I like options! Have either of you been to Cheeseburger in Paradise in York? I might take a ride down there to try out more choices.
  11. Nothing beats the one day I came back from lunch to find my boss sitting at my computer eating a hoagie. Also, I eat at my desk and when I don't SUPER clean up, or leave something at work for the next day... mice get in and I have mouse terds all over my desk. GRRR... no where is safe.
  12. Melons! I found this one out the hard way.I had an Allergic reation to honeydew and cantelope actually I seem to handle a few pecies of them ok, had bad reation when I ate Rita's Italian ice in "twisted melon" that is mostly juice and chunks of fruit. I almost had to go to the hospital with that one. They also say bananas and tomatoes, but I don't seem...
  13. I agree, that is why I don't like taking them. I was first put on them in 2000, (looking back... that's right about when my hair started falling out... and daily D). I took them relgiously for 3-4 monthes... then I started forgetting. Then I noticed the days I was off..wern't that bad.. and damn they were expensive. So I started to take them when needed...
  14. I too am another one who needed to go to the doctor and say "I think I have Celiac Disease, Give me these tests." She was reluctant, but gave me the test.. it was positive thankfully. If your not positive don't let it get you down, it still may be gluten, get a biopsy or just go gluten free and see how you feel. It may take several monthes for you to see...
  15. oooh.. that sounds good... I'd make them into balls... yummy. Of course i make "rice crispies" with fruity pebbles and make eggs out of them.... fruity and so sweet!
  16. I think Glutanio makes a round buttery cracker that is just like it. Havne't tried them yet, but I will as soon as i get to the store to get them
  17. I can't do corn Anything else I could sub with? I wonder if garbanzo beans would work.... I love grilled chicken tacos...
  18. Congrats on going drug free as well as gluten free! I should be on lexapro, I know I have depression... I have a filled perscription, it's somewhere in my bedroom. Other than the first sadness orginally going gluten free, the past month and a half has been pretty good depression wise. Yes, there are moments of grieving and anger, but I thought it...
  19. I hear you. On Administrative Assistant Day, the boss took us to a fancy shmacy buffet at a country club. I ate plain rice pilaf, while my co-workes ate pasta and turkey and stuffing and roastbeef in gravy. Elcairs, canoli's and cheesecakes for dessert. Baskets upon baskets of bread, rye, pumpernickel...oh god. Bah... but the rice pilaf was good. Sad...
  20. I don't understand the bloodwork, I'm still learning. But this is what I understand... If you have a Wheat allergy, this may get better. If you have some gluten intolerance, you may be able to eat small amounts and tolerate them. I stand corrected.... the girls below know much more than me. If you have Celiac Disease, there is no acceptable amount...
  21. Actually, someone else reccomended that Namaste Spice cake to me before, basically becasue it tastes good, not so much to add veggies. I will have to try that... I don't get much time to cook, probally a another problem I have when it comes to cooking right. I've never eaten salmon, don't know how to buy or how to cook it. I probally should see about...
  22. Thanks for the input! Unfortuantly, at this point, veggies are a no go. If I eat them they have to be very well cooked (ick) or small % of meal (I can have lettuce on tacos, but can't eat a salad). From what I understand that should get better as my intestine heals. Nuts have a tendancy to do the same thing, but they just don't get digested... veggies...
  23. I recently bought this model: Open Original Shared Link I got it for 89 dollars at linens and things, I like it it steams veggies while cooking rice and can also be used as a slow cooker and quick frying pan (I like to fry up a few pecies of bacon and onion in the cooker before putting rice in to flavor the rice) With this cooker, cleanup really is...
  24. I have been eating hot dogs quite a bit, and I've checked 3 or 4 different labels looking for gluten and not found any gluten.. i think. I have changed to all beef ones after reading the labels.... Could I just be missing something.. what's the gluten containing ingredent?
