  1. Sort of off topic, but my mother is Methodist. Her minister is Celiac, and she does her communion every week with a gluten free cookie! My mom gets very jealous of her, she is stuck with cube of stale-ish bread, and the Minister gets a cookie!
  2. Nuva Ring! And becasue it's not in your digestive system, when you get D right after taking it, it's still in your system!
  3. I think Instead is just too flimsy and not a good design to be a reliable barrier in sex. One mistep and it shifts and WHOOSH!
  4. I've used the Keeper, The Diva Cup and Instead, and I love the Diva Cup the most! I didn't like the instead at all, too easy to come unsealed and have an accident (One time I sneezed and.. whoosh! ) The Keeper and Diva Cup are of the same design, you can't have sex with them in like with instead, but They are eaiser (once you get the hang of it...
  5. You need to be aware of Stevia though! It's in the Family of "Ragweed". I'm Allergic to Ragweed, and started feeling itchyafter eating it. I avoid it, and others with ragweed allergies should use caution.
  6. I think your family should feel guilty that thier sloppiness is making you feel so sick! I go spend weekends with my parents, and they have a VERY gluten filled household. This past weekend I saw the island competely covered with crumbs from my father's lunch. I went to the living room and yelled at him! I told him for him it's an incovience to clean...
  7. I'd like to try making yogert some day.... but I hardly have time to cook dinner! I eat yogurt so because it's easy, not so much cuz I like it... One more food off limits
  8. For the past 7 years, I've been having thin, thinning hair. I've started to use 10-12 dollar bottles of shampoo and condtioner to make my hair "thick". It's just been getting worse and worse! I look at it last week... Wheat in it! So the thing i've been trying to do for the past 7 years to make my hair thick, has been hurting it! (ironically ...
  9. I never liked kikkoman's, Always used La Choy. I'm glad that La Choy is gluten-free, as well as Low Sodium! The stronger tastes and added salt would put me off so much! Thanks for letting me know I'd not like the others if I tried them though!
  10. I found that that was the best part of exercising, Stress relief! I did my first pilates class last night.... owww.. I'm so sore today!
  11. I still drink coffee, but had to get rid of the sweet and low - had to go to real sugar. I limit my real coffee to one cup every 12 hours. If i am really jonesing for coffee after the first one, I go decaf.
  12. Well I'm at the other spectrum, 5"3" and 230 lbs, but I think a membership to a gym is a great Idea for anyone. I joined a gym in Jan, and my energy level and overall mood has improved. I haven't lost alot of weight, but I know my body has gained muscle and improved my posture. Limit your cardio to about 20 minutes, anything more than that and it will...
  13. I sort of douby it, I have coffee with milk every morning, rita's custard at least once a mo, cheese on a daily basis, chocolate milk 1-2 times a week... I eat a good amount of dairy on a daily basis... unless i'm reacting to the yogourt cultures....
  14. But part of the perogie goodness is the potato dough! mm.. now I want perogies!
  15. I guess that would be true, I got sick from it, but others don't seem to. It's weird because I seem to handle alcohol ok without getting sick. Would Jack Daniels be the same type of Distilled Grain Alcohol?
  16. I've always used LaChoy (low sodium) and have been using it like water scince gluten free 24 days ago (yay!)... no problems at all. Sorry to hear your having problems though.... I'd die without my soy sauce!
  17. Why can't they just put "Contains Gluten" in fine print somewhere? I hate that I have to call and ASK or look it all up! I just wanted some yogurt!
  18. My doctor saw no need for me to go though the uncomfort and hassle of seeing a GI specialist with my positive blood test. I was going "Gluten lite" from blood test til diagnosis ... (3 mo.. long story!) at that point she was " go gluten free and see if it makes you feel better! " She says I may want to go to a GI at some point, but the gluten free diet may...
  19. Apparently "Natural Flavors" - using distilled grain alchohol to get flavors from the fruit. the post I found: Open Original Shared Link
  20. I admit, Pizza, Bread, and Pasta will always temp me. However, the huge hurdle is lack of freedom to eat where I want, and where my friends are eating. I have found the mindset is the most important. Gluten = posion! I look at a chocolate chip cookie, and all I think about how crappy I feel when I eat, and how I don't want to be like my mother...
  21. I learned a very good lesson today.. Before I eat ANYTHING, Check Celiac.com I decided to try some activa yogurt to help regulate my digestive system, I read the ingredients... no obvious gluten. This morning as i was eating it at my computer I decided to just do a search for it on the site. BAM! Apparently it has hidden gluten you only find out...
  22. I'm day 22 gluten free, and I still cringe when people say "well why don't you just eat a salad?". Raw veggies go though me faster than gluten! I've been told the same thing... it will probally go away as I heal... lets hope for fast healing!
  23. That was one of the hardest things for me to adjust to, lunch at work. Here are some ideas that work for me: Salad bar at local grocery store. (yeah some risk, but so far so good!) Rice made night before in Rice cooker. Thai Kitchen's Mushroom soup (just like ramen noodles!) A Taste of Thai's Red Curry Noodles (again, similar to ramen noodles) Cheese...
  24. I'm on day 22, and it's helping me quite a bit! I take it one day at a time. Today I'm gluten free, and if I hate it, I'll deal with it tomorrow. Usally by tomorrow, it's not so bad anymore. I keep my self in the yummy mainstream gluten free snacks.. chocolate
  25. The bit about the shampoo bothers me, I've continued to use the same shampoo, even though it has "wheat protiens" in it.... it's really expenive and does a pretty good job of thickening my hair! I wondering if it is hurting me... I use it every other day and am careful to not get my hair in my mouth.
