  1. I would, in addition to the advice given by others, get to the doctor and have this looked at.
  2. This is really important. You risk a lot by consuming even small amounts. How much you say? Well read my signature and a few others.
  3. Poor little guy and poor you! I hope you can get him in to see another ENT, maybe your ped can give you the name of another one and perhaps even a direct referral.
  4. I am going to advise you to find an allergist who will guide you through the process. When calling ask if they help with elimination diets as not all do and you don't want to waste your money and time with appointments with ones who won't. The allergist will take an history of what you diet typically includes and will give you the best starting point for...
  5. I would strongly advise you to take him to an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor or ENT. My DD had the major fluid build up in her ears and the results on her speech and behavior were severe. Our ENT did tubes, the poor thing had the most intubations that the doctor had ever done. But before we got that referral she had lost all her speech and started doing nothing...
  6. I am glad that there were no serious issues. I think your right about them not wanting him to eat until the results were read 'just in case'. I wonder if he needs to be totally gluten free and in effect his occasional gluten meals are basically gluten challenges? Anyway I am glad that they didn't find anything serious in the Cat Scan. Is the doctor having...
  7. Thanks, I am not as sensitive to soy CC as gluten either but soy flour or oil will give me real issues.
  8. They do sound good. Before I waste a lot of gas looking to see if I can find it around here could you tell me if there is soy in the mix?
  9. I hope the scan goes well for him. It does sound like they suspect the itis from what you are saying. I also am surprised that they didn't get him in sooner. Keep us posted on how you both are doing.
  10. You wouldn't be hurting him by not giving him gluten, unless he is gluten intolerant and is being glutened or CC'd. It is possible he may be intolerant to something in the Udi's products, I have never seen them where I am so I don't know the ingredients. Have you taken him to the doctor? He may just have motion sickness but he may also have something like...
  11. It does sound like you reacted to your mini challenge. To be a real challenge you need to eat gluten about 3 times a day for a week or until you react. Don't be surprised if you get D today or tommorrow as sometimes that part of the reaction is delayed. Also it sounds like you have a wise and supportive husband. I think he has given you some great advice...
  12. I can't be sure of course but I can say with pretty strong certainty that he doesn't have diverticulITIS, he would be very ill if he did. What he may have is diverticulOSIS. If you have read up on that you know that those are outpouchings in the large intestine wall. The itis comes in if for some reason the diverticuli become infected and that is a serious...
  13. Since the business is back up I would contact her and refresh her memory about the unfulfilled order. If you imply that you will do business with her after you recieve your original order perhaps you might get that 'backorder'. Paypal can't do anything after this length of time about that order but they have changed regs there. Supposedly the process to...
  14. Dietary response is the most important part of the diagnostic process. If your symptoms resolve gluten free and reappear if you add gluten back in that is diagnostic in itself. More doctors are starting to recognize this. There is nothing wrong with accepting your body's response and listening to it.
  15. There could be a couple of things going on. First not all sodas are gluten-free, most are but not all. You are also early into the diet. If you made the corncakes yourself were they cooked in pans that had been used for gluten breads? Gluten residue may have been present in the pans or on the utensils you used especially if you use cast iron or wooden utensils...
  16. What were the ingredients in the corn cakes?
  17. How are you feeling? Are you still having symptoms? If your not I wouldn't worry too much about the results of the endo as it was done really quickly. Most doctors don't reendo until at least 6 months after the diet is started, if ever. Mine didn't reendo until years after I started the diet and then since he was doing a routine 'over 50' colonoscopy figured...
  18. I am glad you are making such good progress. It really makes the adjustment to the gluten free lifestyle so worth it doesn't it.
  19. You should be able to gain some height but a lot depends on whether your growth plates have fused. Some men and women continue to grow into their early twenties. For the best answer to this question you can bring it up with your doctor and ask him to do xrays, usually these would be done of the hands and wrists, I think, to see if the plates have fused yet...
  20. Yes there is a link with celiac and RA. My genes for celiac, if tested before I was diagnosed would have been considered RA associated genes here in the US. My arthtitis has been in remission now since a couple of months after I went gluten-free.
  21. The fact that your recent endo and biopsies came back clear is a good thing it has shown that the diet is healing you. I do not understand why your doctor wants you to redamage yourself with a gluten challenge. He can check for other things without the challenge. I personally would pass on the challenge.
  22. I don't know about that product but I would advise you to contact that site and try again to get your money back. Hopefully you kept any email or snail mail communication. If the communication was by email the easy way to retrive it from some email sites, like yahoo, is to do a search using the companies name. Filing a claim with the Better Business folks...
  23. I am someone who would choose to make my coffe at home and just bring it with me. I want to address a more important issue. If you are still in the testing process for celiac you really should not be gluten free yet. You need to be on gluten for the tests to have any chance of being correct. If you have finished with blood and biopsy then go ahead and...
  24. If you are preggers I do hope that you have a little one who is in no hurry to get here and can hold off till he returns. I had my first when my significant other was far away on board a ship. As I was laboring away a nurse cheerful handed me the phone saying 'this calls for you', while it wasn't the same as having him right there it was wonderful to hear...
