  2. thanks for the reply My daughter told me late last night that my husband reached in and ate chips. Im sure he didnt wash his hands after eating gluten. It just makes me so mad for his total disregard for me and her and how we feel after we have eaten it. I dont think he thinks of anyone but himself at times or he just doesnt believe that it could makes...
  3. Im pissed honestly and I dont know if its my true feelings or if Im just ticked off because of a reaction my body is having. Me, my daughter, and husband were over at my mil's house. I bring our own food always. I dont allow any gluten in my household at all as me and my daughter both have strong reactions to it. To me it is no different than spreading rat...
  4. We did ours dairy and egg free but used spectrum shortening instead of butter and added just a smidgen of water to compensate for the liquid. It took longer to cook, maybe 10 minutes more at 325 and it turned out perfectly.
  5. YUM! I had the brownies last night and wow! It tasted like I was eating the old gluten mixes I loved so much. I called the company and she said they are in the process of making more gluten free mixes due to overwhelming responses
  6. I have ate two boxes of the honey nut gluten free without a problem. My reaction is pretty obvious too that is distinctive to gluten. I havent tried the cinnamon yet as we dont eat milk.
  7. My niece and nephew cant have soy, gluten or pineapple. Do you have any recipes that would exclude these. Usually I just make sweet and sour for ourselves but I dont know how to make it without pineapple. Thanks
  8. A little shortening will help with it, we use spectrum. A good book for recipe ideas made from scratch is "the ultimate candy book" by bruce weinstein. It has alot of good simple recipe ideas that I sub enjoy life chocolates for.
  9. I have a maytag and love it. We have no problems and never have to prewash.
  10. I think you could get glutened I did from our guinea pig and had a horrible rash on my hands especially with cleaning the cages.
  11. Manda- I hope you like it too! Bunnie- If split into two days. Fondant cooked one day and the other made the next its not much time at all. Written out it looks much more difficult than it is. I like chocolate covered strawberries too but I love the creamy center of the chocolate covered cherries.
  12. Thanks, I have noticed that alot of products I use come from hain celestial group which is the moonies.
  13. I agree with ridgewalker it sounds like norwalk virus. I had that and I must have thrown up over 20 times even the tiniest of liquids and had D so bad that I had horrible cramping in my legs. It took weeks for me to feel really good. Our whole family had it over Christmas two years ago. Im sorry you have been sick and Im glad your back on the mend. I would...
  14. 3 cups sugar 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon water 1/4 cup light corn syrup 60 maraschino cherries with stems (do not use fresh cherries) 24 ozs enjoy life chocolate chips shortening or margarine ( I used smart balance light) Preparing the fondant- Grease a 9x13 pan and set aside. Combine the sugar, water and corn syrup in a saucepan. Using wooden spoon...
  15. Thanks Julie- It took me a long time to get it how I like it. I did find with namaste the more thinner layers the better. The bigger cakes dont do as well unless I use the pads you wrap around the pans for more even cooking. missys mom- The strawberry puree does sound good, thanks for the idea. Cheri- Thanks, Im not as satisfied I would be...
  16. Yep unfortunately as cruel shoes states those have gluten in them. Before we went casein free I found it best to avoid the holiday shaped candies and stick with the originals.
  17. Ooh peeps, I forgot about those. Thanks She likes those dum dum pops really well too. Smarties too!
  18. Im thinking of using enjoy life chocolate chips and using chocolate molds. Im not sure of any other candies to use since my daughter doesnt like chewy candies like jelly beans and that sort of stuff.

  20. Collette - thanks Cheri- Sorry I didnt get a chance to post this last night, here's the recipe Cake decorator frosting- 1 1/2 cup shortening (spectrum if your intolerant to soy) 1/2 tsp salt 4 tablespoons tapioca flour (makes it more stiff to hold its shape using decorator tips) 8 cups (2lbs) powdered sugar 1 1/2 tsp flavoring ( I...
  21. Cheri- I will post it tonight as I have to go start dinner. I think Namaste might have rice flour in it and I see rice is an allergy of your daughters, Im not positive it contains it though. Can she have flax? If so I have a recipe to use that as an egg replacer. I havent used it yet but I have heard it works great. To give more flavor to cakes I also...
  22. We used to get colds very frequently but now its rare. We havent gotten even a single case of the sniffles even though we have spent time with other family members at family functions who are sick. I put us all on elderberry and echinacea tincture during cold and flu season. It also shortens cold and flu durations along with preventing them. Pubmed has some...
  23. Personally I think you were perfectly in the right for not wanting loose flour in the house. Your mil could have made the chicken and dumplings in her house or used a gluten-free flour blend and made them from scratch. I dont see why she would want to make food that not everyone could eat. I have nieces and nephews who are very restricted with intolerances...
  24. itchy- Thanks! I havent tried the gluten-free gingerbread houses yet but I know there are a few recipes on here. Wiltons sells a stand up house cake pan that you could frost and decorate with candies as an alternative. I want to try this cake also again as a haunted castle for halloween Here' s another cake made out of the same style I didnt make this one...
  25. Thanks I hope to take a trip there in the future
