  1. Sorry, just now checking the forum. I can't get on here that much anymore, but I check my email at least once a day. You can message me at rlmcfarland@yahoo.com.
  2. Hi, I would be so happy to get anyone the information I have compiled, but I can't get onto the forum as often as I'd like, so please email me and I will forward it to you. rlmcfarland@yahoo.com In order for the information to be more accurate for you, I need the following: age, current height and weight, activity level-what do you do for exercise and...
  3. Ditto for us, but I don't like the american cheese, so I use a mix of cheddars-1/2 extra sharp. This is my 6 year old's favoriete. I usually triple the recipe and freeze in small portions for her lunches! This is my FAVORITE cookbook, almost everything I make (even cakes, quickbreads and cookies) I get from this book and modify. So far, I've had no issues...
  4. You should call the company immediately!! I order from them regularly and if there's ever any problem with your order, they will fix it right away. They accidently sent me a case of chocolate cake mix instead of the brownies and when I called, they told me to keep the case and they's sent the correct case that day--I recieved it 2 days later. They've always...
  5. From our experience, although painless for my 4 year old daughter, it was NOT painless for me and my husband. I understand it was necessary to do and I support it (biopsy) 100%, but all experiences are different. (to preface, I do these exams-endoscopy-for cardiac visualization daily, so I have a TON of experience with these procedures) We had it done at...
  6. Pilates, Pilates and Pilates! 2 kids, 100# weight loss, total loss of ab tone and flabby skin. Pilates completely reformed my body. 2-3 times a week ~45 minutes. Cardio on the other days. It sucks-no super quick fix. Good luck!
  7. I bought a pretty inexpensive (8$) Barbie thermos at Target and we use it about 3 days a week. Our school is very supportive of us, but I don't expect them to cater to her. I have 2 kids, they have 400!! I heat whatever I made-or leftovers (which is handy) to almost boiling and seal it up-if I do this before I leave for work (545am) it's still really warm...
  8. We're in your area. I'm not celiac, but my DD is-so I might as well be Love to meet for coffee sometime if you want.
  9. How do I know how much to add?
  10. If you have time, you must try either the Corbett or Hawthorne fish house (same family owns both). You must order the catfish--to die for (the cod is good too)!!! Then top it off with the gluten-free cheesecake. We were in HEAVEN!! Have fun! It's rainy here right now, but so beautiful-I couldn't imagine living anywhere else!!
  11. Hi all, I'm going to experiment with some "regular" recipes and want to try the featherlight mix. Can I sub it straight across for the flour? Do I need to add xanthan gum or anything else? Can I use that particular mix with all baking recipes? If not, is there a better mix that I can use universally for cookies, cakes, crusts, muffins, biscuits, etc...
  12. Super easy, no roll pie crust: 1 stick (1/2c) butter or margerine-melt in pie plate in microwave 1c favorite gluten-free flour blend (I use Pamelas)-Add to melted butter 2TBS sugar-add to flour Mix with fork until doughy ball, pat out into plate, refrigerate ~30 min, fill and bake If you want to do a top crust, double the recipe, divide...
  13. We use the kraft caramels with no issues, caramel apples, fondue, sky's the limit!!
  14. Nuts are good too, I add all natural nut butter to smoothies, add slivered almonds to cereal etc... LARA bars are great too.
  15. We eat the stuff that's labeled gluten-free, never had a problem and DD is EXTREMELY sensitive. She LOVES the turkey and wants it almost every day!
  16. What kind of almond bar are you looking for? I have one for almond-roca that's fabulous, but it does have butter--not sure it would yield the same results with an alternative butter...
  17. Was the recipe posted somewhere or just at land-o-lakes? Was the recipe already gluten-free or did you substitute??
  18. Jenny, We went through all of this last year, however it was our DD. Her bday is in September, and in our district we can have kids with later bdays tested in for kindergarten. She actually tested into the 2nd grade level. She was the youngest kid in the school, but she kept up really well-exceeded our expectations for sure! You could always request...
  19. What this the Alton Brown recipe or the Annalise recipe?
  20. OMG this is genius!!! I will try this with my son, he is averse to eating anything that is NOT cream colored or white.
  21. All I can say is Pamela's Pamela's Pamela's!!! We have been using the baking mix, cakes and cookie mixes for a long time, but after getting fed up paying 6$ for really good gluten-free bread, I decided to try the wheat-free bread mix-we LOVE it. I buy it by the case from amazon .com and it's MUCH cheaper, plus free shipping.
  22. I saw the post about these when the show was on, but has anyone tried them? Are they as good as he says? (-; Open Original Shared Link
  23. 1. Once, last October 2. 2 days, 1st 6-12 hours-violent vomitting, 2 days of uncontrollable D 3. So far. The last one was the pumkin patch hay ride 4. BRAT diet, lots of binding foods, loves and quiet time 5. January 4 2006
  24. The list above sounds great, but i would NOT give any kind of nut butter (including sesame/tahini) in any quantity unless your pediatrician says OK. Wait until 1.5-2years. Pureed tofu or small tofu cubes is good, also fruit with yogurt or cottage cheese is a good way to get extra protein. Intruduce one new food every 3-4 days just to make sure there...
