  1. Originally, I started to help figure out what was wrong. I continue because it helps with the symptoms. Mostly the abdomen pain, bloating and D/C. I have also found it amazingly helpful for relaxation. (also helps to sleep easier... although posting at 2am may be counter indicating)
  2. I just scheduled mine for next week. 1. Do they make you eat/drink something before they will let you go home? (If so, did you bring your own gluten-free stuff?) 2. Did you have a choice in your prep?
  3. Bully4You - Thank you so much for posting this, I thought I was going crazy. I have been so careful and thought that this was something "new" or another problem... not that I ever want to be "wooo hooo, yes, gluten is kicking around my guts" but it is nice to know that its most likely the reasons for this current symptom. I have been peeing much more...
  4. I have been going to an acupuncturist for just over 2 months now. (I was dx with celiac 1 month ago) Through this hell of tests, doctors, drugs and random dietary restrictions, acupuncture was the ONLY relief from the pain I got. After the 2nd session I slept through an entire night without waking up burp/vomit or having to readjust positions because...
  5. Thank you to you all. I have been "grinning" through it all and not taking any otc meds, until yesterday when I broke down and took Tylenol. (I spend 2 hours in so much pain that only laying flat on the floor was tolerable.) New dr. today prescribed a different antispasmatic, and since I am battling a crazy amount of D, I think the "side effects" will...
  6. I have the EXACT same problem right now, its been going on for 5 days. Mine is also coupled with a lot of water/slime, as frequently as 6x a day. I cannot seem to find the cause nor a solution. The latest doctor just put me on a new antispasmatic med to help deal with the pain that is accompanying it all. I am doing my darnedest to stay hydrated...
  7. Thank you all for your input/advice. I am going to doctor #4 tomorrow, hopefully he can figure out why I am still in so much pain and/or offer some useful suggestions.
  8. I have been having nightmares (dreams) about white bread. I am not pregnant, been diagnosed with celiac for a month now, but I am plagued by either the overwhelming desire for white bread and/or having nightmares of being out of control eating it, and getting really sick. I just ate two slices of gluten-free "toast" with butter. It's not cutting it....
  9. Thanks MommaG I have been diagnosed (I probably need to figure out the signature thing), a month ago today. I am still having some seriously problems and not really seeing any improvement... and GI Doctor #1 wants to run a bacterial overgrowth test and/or a colonoscopy. (Last week I broke out in itchy, bumps, this week, bright red dots... plus burping...
  10. I saw my PC today, she said "they are totally normal. They are from aging or pregnancy." She INSISTED that they had been there all along, because no one gets these "over night." I told her that in fact yesterday there were none on my forearms and pointed out 8 of them to her, that are on them today. She told me not to worry about them. But then the...
  11. Grey - Tomorrow will be the one month marker of my celiac life and I just recently had to tell my thesis adviser why I still haven't been able to hand in my final draft (because I cannot concentrate long enough to read a page of substance, never mind write one). Is it possible to take a medical leave, if you have to? I am not saying it will come to that...
  12. Burdee, I just switched probiotics last week to a different company, with a higher bacteria count. Maybe all of this lovely bloat is this new one working. I am going to GI Specialist #2 on Monday, so hopefully IBS and/or Chrons can be ruled out. cookie22 - patience is not my virtue... you are probably correct, its just hard to swallow
  13. I also notice that the timing of medications, especially fiber/laxatives/probiotics matters, a lot. I switched my "digestive enhancers" to the middle of the day and I have had less problems with sleeping/pain in the morning.
  14. I have been keeping my cell phone in my front pants pocket because I have been anxiously awaiting a call from my doctor. I reached down, fumbling to grab my phone in the middle of carrying a stack of mail at work only to realize that it wasn't my phone vibrating, it was my abdomen gurgling, very loud and strongly. I cracked up laughing in the middle...
  15. jmd3 - THANK YOU BUNCHES! This totally sounds like what I have. After further investigation, I noticed that they look a lot like a spot on my upper thigh that I have had my entire life. I am still going to get them checked out to make sure they aren't a vitamin-related thing (thank you too Jestgar) but at least I don't feel like I am walking around...
  16. Just another idea... You can also make an ice cream cake with said cookie crumbles (if your wee one is a fan of the Carvel-style cakes). It really works best with a spring-form pan (like you use for making cheese cake). Step 1 - line pan with parchmant paper (you may need a little bit of butter/grease to make it stick.) Step 2 - Scoop and smooth...

    ARCHIVED Dog Food

I don't know of any off hand... but in the interim you can totally feed your dog rice and boiled/steamed chicken. It can get pricey, but if you are in a pinch it works. (Its what we would feed dogs with D at the animal shelter.)
  18. I have been diagnosed with celiac for just a month now, I do not have DH, but starting yesterday, I have bright red spots on my chest, torso and one on my arm. They do not itch, they are not painful or raised. At first I thought I had cut myself by accident because they are that bright in color. I have not been out in the sun. I have not eaten anything...
  19. I am a huge AB fan, and yesterday was a really rough day for me... I have been feeling really miserable and unable to get any doctors to call me back about pain management that I was seriously considering eating a pizza. (I know, I know, it was not sane or rational, but I was really hurting and at the time it just felt like if I am going to be in pain anyway...
  20. I should have been clearer... yes, I am having two very different types of pain. 1. Under my ribs (it feels like someone is shoving their fingers under my rib cage) after I eat. 2. Pressure, pain, distention and LOUD gurgles coming from what I believe is my colon. The bloating/pressure is throughout my entire abdomen, it swells up, sometimes 2 sizes...
  21. FYI - The reason many companies lists "May contain soy, cottonseed and/or canola oil" (you can often see it on potato chip bags) is because the companies buy in bulk and purchase whichever is cheaper at the date of purchase. I am not saying that the change isn't "because of consumer-tested taste," but that it probably has a little bit to do with fry oil...
  22. c5land - good luck! I had an ultrasound done and my gallbladder is a-ok. I just scheduled a bacterial overgrowth test. (theory is that there are too many bad bacterium in my small intestines that go wild when I eat = pain) I really really really hope this is the answer, cause I can handle 2 weeks of antibiotics and NO MORE TESTS!
  23. Thanks Geoff. This is rumbles plus the added bonus of pain and/discomfort. And a weird sensation of "hey, look at me, i am acting up and you are paying attention to me now, aren't you!?" (yes, sometimes I feel that my digestive system acts and sounds like a small/needy child)
  24. When your doctor YELLS at you, saying that you must go on antidepressants because the stress and anxiety of not having a diagnosis is making the symptoms worse. (I said, "Well why don't we figure out what IS wrong with me. I am pretty sure the stress of not knowing will probably go away then.) Since the diagnosis she refuses to answer my phone calls...
  25. Currently, my favorite breakfast is brown rice porridge (mostly cause this is new to me and it is cheap!) 1 part brown rice (rinsed) 3 parts water pinch of salt In a sauce pot, bring all ingredients to a boil, then lower to a simmer. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. (the rice grains will burst and get creamy... almost like oatmeal) Stir in dried...
