  1. All I can say is this site is great!
  2. I wonder how many doctors are aware of this site and would or should recommend it to their patients?
  3. Scott.....I concur. That is what I have concluded. It seems like the symptoms can be all over the place. I wonder how many doctors today would even consider Gluten problems when doing a diagnosis?
  4. I have wondered if different people have different reactions to different gluten exposures even if they have been diagnosed with Celiac. In other words....the body's reaction to gluten. From what I've read even a crumb of wheat can cause a big reaction and I wondered if that is always the case in everyone? I avoid gluten as much as possible and less or...
  5. This research and development sounds promising but I'm 77 and didn't even know I had a problem until the age of 75. I have done the best I can to avoid gluten for the past two years. Testing previously showed Celiac disease. I seemed to surmise that if the testing is accurate I can say I had minimal symptoms and other that possible malabsorption and weight...
  6. When I think of it, in the later 50s my mother had problems with her digestive system and i remember her going to see some kind of internist and maybe at that time they may not have even known about what Gluten could do to some people?
  7. In my mind, any success to find a cure for undesired immune response might also have great benefits for other situations like lactose intolerance and even peanut allergies etc etc.? But then again, certain immune responses in some cases are beneficial. Maybe a double edged sword? It seems like whatever we do in some cases affects something else...
  8. Excellent article and study. In the 50s my mother had issues and when I think back she may well have had Celiac but testing at that time was probably non existent. Doctors hopefully will take note and inform Celiacs about the relative relationship.
  9. BTW.....afterthought....I am 77 and when I think back, my mother in the late 50s and early 60s supposedly had intestinal issues and she had seen a doctor and I wonder if she had Celiac issues before the medical community even knew what it was? And then there is the hereditary possibility in my case.
  10. Brilliant thought! Apparently Asians have spent much of their lives wheat/gluten free and they live rather long lives and although their biome may be somewhat different they seem to avoid the damage that Celiacs experience. I see a good many probionic supplements advertised for people with Celiac issues. Personally I try to follow a regimen of supplements...
