  1. From the original post, I believe the strips are for testing food before you eat it, not after!
  2. I'm no physician, but did it ever occur to you that you might have THE FLU? If I were you, I'd just stay home on the couch with the dogs until I felt better!
  3. I'm not quite clear on how this would work. I can understand swirling the strip around in your Jamba Juice, but how would you check a salad or a bag of chips or a rice cake or . . . . ??? If the gluten protein were on the surface of a rice cake, you could tall if there was cross contamination, but what if it wasn't? What if it was on the inside? How...
  4. If they *are* on this forum then hopefully they will look around and see what so many people have to deal with on an every day basis. Remember that a successful business does not find a good product and then try to get people to buy it. A successful business finds a need and fills it. Martha *is* a successful business woman.
  5. When I had my daughter they wanted to give me Percocet, but opiates - synthetic or natural - make me nauseous and do nothing for the pain. So it was Extra-Strength Tylenol for me. Get this. The nurses had access to the Percocet at the nurse's station. They had to leave the building and go to the hospital pharmacy for the Tylenol. Go figure. ...
  6. I was thinking for the past couple of days that to prove our points we would all not only need to subscribe, but then pass each issue on to "someone who needs it" such as a doctor, dentist, restaurant manager, major food manufacturer, grocery store, school, neighbor, etc. If there are no magazine sales, there will be no magazine. JHHO . . .
  7. We have 57% of the vote as of 6:48 AM PST. That is approximately 331,000 of the 580,700 that have been cast. Pets have just under 156,800, less than half of what we have. I think we are still OK! But keep voting! Don't slack off!
  8. I'm not a teen either, but I once was! Anyway, I hate to tell ya, but Rice Krispies are not gluten free. There are almost NO "normal" cereals that are gluten-free. For whatever reason, the cereal makers put wheat or barley (but often only labeled "malt") into almost everything. It stinks, but that's the way it is. If you must coat your chicken...
  9. As Eli Manning snubbed the Chargers when they drafted him and a couple of Patriots are former Chargers I guess I'll root for the Patriots. No longer football savvy enough to predict a point spread.
  10. I just voted, and the percentage is 56% us and 27% pets. If this keeps up it is mathematically impossible not to win!
  11. They aren't laughing at you. They're envious! Have you thought of getting a job as a male model?
  12. Voting ends Feb. 7. I'm not sure voting bazillions of times is such a good idea. They may go through before making a final decision and eliminate all the votes (beyond the one allowed) from duplicate ip addresses. We wouldn't want to damage our credibility by being accused of "stuffing the ballot box!"
  13. Take this 20 question quiz to see how you REALLY match up with the candidate of your choice. A local TV station had three people take this test to see how each one felt about the 20 issues included in the quiz. Then the web site matched them up with the candidate whose position most closely matched what they filled in. Two of the three were very...
  14. I don't think it's scientific at all. It's a popularity contest, and the most votes wins!
  15. I just voted again, and sent it to others who have various food issues, so they can vote, too.
  16. I just voted, and yes, we may only have 17%, but that 17% is tied for 2nd place, which may serve as a wake-up call that this really is an issue and a market niche worth exploring.
  17. Today a customer came in and was eating some kind of a chocolate-covered biscuit. She was dribbling crumbs all over the counter. There was no point in saying anything to her as she gave every indication of being a clueless dingy airhead. Pleasant, but dingy. I realized that even though I could clean the counter after she left, I couldn't clean her...
  18. If you can eat peanuts there are several recipes that use peanut butter and chocolate chips and are really good!
  19. Vons has a gluten free chocolate cake mix? What brand and what aisle?
  20. Ya know, it would be a bit pricey, but that ain't a bad idea. If even ONE paid attention it might be worth it.
  21. Steve, you may have seen signs in business establishments that say "In God we trust - all others pay cash." Cheeky as that is, it makes a point. God is always worthy of our trust - people and the institutions people run - are often not. They are run by flawed individuals , warts and all. Don't base your perception of God on what you see in people...
  22. It does indeed sound like CYA, which must be cheaper than Quality Control. You see more and more CYA replacing Quality Control.
  23. Dinty Moore beef stew in the microwave works for me! Also cottage cheese with pineapple, or a salad with safe toppings such as tomatoes, shredded cheese, deli-sliced lunch meat (be sure to read the label before you buy) and avocado. There are lots of gluten-free salad dressings. Again, be sure to read the labels. Peanut butter on rice cakes or gluten...
  24. Somewhere earlier in this thread it was said that this was the scariest thread ever. I have to agree. I also have to report that my Mom was once told that "it's all in your head." Turns out she had had a series of minor heart attacks! I do hope the medical students keep track of this thread and get their classmates to care enough to listen to the...
  25. CarlaB brings up a point that has long just amazed me and that is how someone can have so much knowledge and so little faith! For me, the more I know about Creation, the more faith I have in The Creator!
