  1. Just pick a flour from each category, using the recommended amounts for each group, and mix together. I use it for all my baking unless a recipe calls for separate flours (and even then I sometimes just use my mix, keeping to the same volume of total flour listed).
  2. I don't have any answers for you but I did want to say how sorry I was that your family has chosen, and it is a choice, to not try and understand what you are up against. Hang in there.
  3. Whine and complain all you want. This is the place for it. It took me 32 years to get diagnosed. I've been fully gluten free since November and I'm still stuggling. I don't know what I'd do without these forums to whine about it at, lol. I have been reacting to soooo many foods right now that I am keeping it really simple so that my gut can settle...
  4. Hello from a Vancouver Celiac. One of my 13 year old triplets is also in the process of getting her diagnosis (positive ttg and rising and has the DQ2 gene, biopsy scheduled for Dec 4). We have 2 rice bakeries here, Panne Rizo and Choices Rice Bakery. I tend to make all of my own baked goods though, as I also can't have soy, all legumes(including cashews...
  5. You'll find it at this website Open Original Shared Link I have made it with the seeds and without and both are really good.
  6. We have it with turkey, and other poultry, as well as the soup. I like to make a gluten free Lavash and wrap it around the turkey and chutney. (the lavash is quick and easy throw together and cooks in about 15 minutes). If you want the Lavash recipe let me know and I can post it.
  7. I've been making this granola for years. It's not overly sweet, just the way I like it. GRANOLA 4 cups rolled oats (I use Creamhill Estate gluten free oats) 1 cup sunflower seeds ( I like to use a mix of
  8. I don't have a specific panini bread but what about trying a gluten-free French Bread recipe. I made the one out of Living Without Oct/Nov 08 issue and I think it could work. I wouldn't try to cut into the bread until it is completely cooled, as the potato flour makes it quite sticky while it is warm. I have to try and adapt the recipe as potatoes (and all...
  9. Gluten Free Sun Dried Tomato Wraps Recipe makes 2 large thin wraps + 1 individual burrito-sized wrap (OR just 2 large, but not quite as thin) Ingredients: 1/4 cup sorghum flour 1/4 cup millet flour 1/4 cup potato starch (NOT flour) 1/4 cup tapioca starch 1 Tablespoons yeast 1 Tablespoon dried minced onion 2 Tablespoons powdered buttermilk or non...
  10. I have alot of food intolerances (gluten, dairy, soy, all nightshades and all legumes). None of these showed up in an allergy test. Allergy tests are IgE responses and intolerances are generally IgG and IgA immune responses. I too went gluten free before testing. I didn't know that I had celiac but I had done an elimination diet, because of my fibromyalgia...
  11. Roben Ryberg has a new book out called You Won't Believe It's Gluten-Free! It has a lot of recipes using just one flour for those with multiple food allergies. I'm still trying to figure mine out. I am celiac, so wheat rye and barley are out. I can't tolerate any dried legumes (not sure about fresh at this stage), nightshades are a problem and recently...
  12. A woman from the Delphi Celiac Forum has just done this recently. Here is what she has written: There are long lists of ingredients that are allowed and those that are not allowed on a gluten-free diet. In reality, since the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA), took effect in January 2006, label reading is simple. FALCPA requires...
  13. You'll enjoy using your new purchases. Having good equipment just makes the job easier.
