  1. You can post eh scanned image on a photo hosting site and put it in a post it with the image tag. Another option is to create a Google doc and share that.
  2. HI Brownie Mission brand corn tortillas are what I like. They have white corn and yellow corn varieties. I like the yellow corn versions better. The yellow are thinner and more flexible. Corn Thins with peanut butter are a great snack! Or with guacamole. I get them in Maryland in Hyattsville a the Yes Organic Market. Just in case someone local...
  3. Hi Kristen, Getting started can be confusing and take a lot of effort. But You can get there by taking one day at a time. Since you have an itchy rash it is possible you have dermatitis herpetiformis. DH is a skin rash some people with celiac get. They diagnose DH by taking a skin sample (biopsy) from the clear skin right next to a lesion and test...
  4. That's great MW! Nice to feel like a person again eh? Keep up whatever you are doing and the good days should get more frequent. Turning it around so the bad days are the unusual days is a definite possibility Congrats!.
  5. Hi Sarah, Celiac is auto-immune, and people with one AI disease tend to have a higher chance of getting a 2nd AI disease. So a family history of AI diseases is what you would look for.
  6. That's great you are feeling better CG! Some of us do go completely grain free and find it helps. Others don't notice any difference though, so we are all each walking our own road there. One low carb diet is the Paleo diet, and there are web sites with Paleo recipes online. Corn intolerance is something that affects people too. It is not a gluten intolerance...
  7. Whew, I finally got my cards sent out yesterday! They are postaling their way to ya'all now!
  8. Geezer is prolly close to right anyhow!
  9. Live chat on Psilyac com now active!
  10. It shows up under the "MORE" menu for me, on the left side of the screen. Next item to the right is the "Journal of Gluten Sensitivity" menu. It's the light blue gray menu bar, right under the blue celiac.com banner. Thanks Scott, seems like it will be handy!
  11. Hi Gregg, There are other members on the forum with diabetes, but I don't know if it is T-1 or T2. It sounds lie you are doing a good job with the diet. I was going to suggest a Paleo type diet with limited carbs but you are already doing that. They say autoimmune diseases like to run in packs which just means it is not uncommon for people to get...
  12. I don't have a link for it, but the current gluten testing is not supposed to be reliable for barley contamination. There was a bit of news about it awhile back in relation to gluten-free beer testing, and that barley levels are not really accurately testable with current technology. Rice Dream has been discussed on this forum as a problem many times...
  13. Right, not difference, but the range of symptoms is very wide. Some people have no symptoms at all, and they call that "silent celiac". Others have only nuerolgical symptoms, or joint pain, or some combo of those and other symptoms etc. Endless possibilities of symptom combinations. 14. Ah yes, Aus, home of the gluten-free corn thins! I get corn thins at a local organic market near DC. They make a nice sub for rice cakes. Corn tortillas are a nice sub for bread and generally much cheaper than a gluten-free bread. You can rinse them in water and nuke them or warm them in covered skillet to soften. Some starting the gluten-free diet...
  15. Welcome back Looey! Is that a new name for u? Ok, Peanut-Looey it is then. Sounds like quite an adventure there Peanut-Looey. Between you in your luxury spa visits (hospital) and Shroomster's coma conundrum we had a lot going on. Did you miss the big killer mutant wasp attack of 2012? Massive stingers at the ready they buzzed down from the light fixtures...
  16. Mine tomorrow also, hopefully. All you late bloomers are making me feel better for sure!
  17. Hi MaxC, Actually, living in Aussie would be kind of neat I think. It's definitely an interesting land. But it ain't happening for me either. I wonder if migrants actually develop an Aussie twang after a while there? G-day there mate! Yes, natural yogurt contains pro-biotics. And it is low or has no lactose, depending on how long it is fermented...
  18. Looks pretty handy it does. Could be good for melting wax in too. Hmm.. Thanks Karen !
  19. Thanks Karen, for breaking my link! Just kidding. I fixed it in the post above. It didn't work for me either. http://www.celiac.co...ists/Page1.html
  20. I actually got my cards addressed at last. I put on a Youtube Christmas song play list to help the process along. Christmas Music Playlist Part Two Open Original Shared Link This playlist may not work in all countries, but you can search Youtube for Christmas Music playlist to find more. This one has Elvis in it!
  21. Hi Cderbogh, You can ask to join the DC celiac group on Yahoo. Search the message list for doctors and you will probably find recommendations. Cheryl Harris is a nutritionist in Alexandria who works with celiac patients. She may be a good source for doctors suggestions. Open Original Shared Link
  22. Sorry for the GI troubles Katty. Maybe you are both fighting a winter bug? They like to kick us in the gut sometimes.
  23. This article discusses some research done on non-celiac wheat sensitivity. It is not the same condition as celiac disease but can cause similar symptoms. https://www.celiac.com/articles/23033/1/Non-Celiac-Wheat-Sensitivity-It-Exists/Page1.html
  24. I hardly ever read Dr. Mercola's site but he does have some info on soy that might help you. This page on his site has links to more info both pro and con on eating soy. It is not all negative info. The soy lobby puts out lots of info about how good soy is for people. But you have to remember they are advocating for it to make money from it. So to get...
  25. Ha Ha, I suppose it does wierd. The flourless black bean chocolate brownies work, so I figured this combo would work too. Encore today but Daiya cheese like shreds instead of chocolate chips. Not bad again. Your carrot sweet tater soup sounds good Lisa!
