  4. hi, so ,I want to get this straight...you have 4 daughters? One not tested, one tested positive for celiac but you don't know her genes, and two more listed here. after you clarify, I'll repost, but for now.... yes daughter #3 has a strong possibility of having the complete celiac gene. You have at least half, hubby has half, daughter # 2 has half ...

I thought her sores may have been from gluten, I...
  8. Yesterday was my one year anniversary of being 100% gluten free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel pretty good, so much better than I did for years. Even when I didn't eat wheat I still had bad symptoms at times. I wish I had gone gluten free years ago. I don't feel poisoned I don't have weird visual effects where everything would seem further than it really...
  9. I know a family whose daughter was diagnosed with Tourettes at 6. Within the month they removed gluten. They never tested for Celiac. Within a week her tics were almost gone. She is doing much better. I have talked to her mom and her other symptoms scream celiac to me, but either way, they have removed ALL gluten and most other grains from her diet...
  10. dad of five boys, you only have 2 genes: DQ8 and DQ4 DQA1*0302, DQB1*0402 is the full name of DQ4 DQA1*0302, DQB1*0302 is the full name for DQ8 The 0302 in the alpha part of the DQ4 gene does not confer gluten intolerance. Just because they numbers are the same, doesn't mean they act the same. You have to look at the entire code and the placing...
  11. I don't remember clearly, but it started to go away within the first week. I went from itching ALL the time to barely itching. I do still itch more than most people probably, but they may be just my make up. I have sensitive skin in general- very fair, sunburn easily, react to chemical soaps, etc. I also itch if I eat too much sugar, like around halloween...
  12. I itched A TON with no visible rash on huge sections of my body. It goes away when I don't eat gluten
  13. mine is caused by wheat and was one of my symptoms as a preteen(but on my foot) and then when my symptoms worsened again, it was one of my first and worst symptoms. horrible, it ate my hand up. My friend gets it from corn though and my dr says it is definately allergy related. Have any of you been tested for IGE allergies? I never have been but...
  14. good point mike several people I know felt triggered by stomach bugs, My next door neighbor is in his late 60s and just got diagnosed. His only real compaint for years was heartburn, then he got shoulder surgery. About 22 months later, he was horribly ill. He believes the surgery triggered him, but then it took a little while to get deathly ill from...

  16. interesting, Van gough was my favorite painter my entire life. In 1998 I had the wonderful experience of seeing his Holland collection on display in DC while they restored he museum in Holland. Incredible!!!! I saw the painting wheat field with crows, one of the last paintings he did(they are unsure which was his last) that was mentioned on that VG...

  18. this was one of my worst symptoms. My little fluid filled blisters were on my palms and fingers. they got so bad that they ate my hand. It was terrible. I got staph and strep in them and could only use my thumb and forefinger. talk about scary. I took antibiotics and used steriods. The rash got better. But when I went off wheat it completely went...
  19. I was just checking on this because someone gave us some see's for christmas. we got 3 foil wrapped chocolates and a box of mixed chocolates. according to this letter, they should be fine. They say their candies in standard boxes, I assume they mean their chocolates?
  20. just curious, what are your symptoms? I aske because those are my daughter's genes
  21. I want to restate what Nesee said. You can get half of the gene from one parent and half from the other to form the complete DQ2 gene. The complete gene on it's own is DQ2.5 But the two seperate halves are the alpha part found on some DQ7s and the beta part found on DQ2.2(the other DQ2 gene). If that is the case with you, then your mom could...
  22. hi, you have the celiac gene DQ2.5 It is the complete gene with both alpha and beta parts.
  23. congradulations, you made it to 37 weeks and they are good sizes too Hope you get some rest and enjoy those babies
  24. hi, I have DQ2.2 also without the alpha part of the gene. The alpha part is located on certain DQ7 genes, but my other gene is DQ5. I also gave up gluten before I knew about all the testing involved for celiac. I had low blood pressure, rashes, itching, depression, nightmares, constipation followed by pooping tons, hemorroids, brain fog, vision changes...
