  1. Yes xanthan gum can cause the same problems.
  2. Be sure to tell the manager how thrilled you are and mention it to every cashier when you check out. You are so lucky.
  3. The only one I haven't tried is the Brownie mix. I made a German Chocolate cake using the mix and the Coconut-Pecan frosting recipe from American Test Kitchen--excellent. I made the yellow cake with 3/4 cup of mini chocolate chips added and poured melted almond bark over it when done. Very good. I make the chocolate chip cookies all the time. My favorite...
  4. Another reason why reading the label doesn't also insure it's gluten free. It might be the law that wheat is declared on the label but sometimes it is not followed. Cousins brand Spinach Vinaigrette in 16 oz. jars has been recalled. Open Original Shared Link
  5. The xanthan gum in these products may be causing you problems. The internet has info on the side effects.
  6. Meat and veggies do not cost more just because someone is unable to eat gluten. No reason for anyone to go hungry. If you want to add in the gluten free pasta and bakery items, they do cost more. But are not necessary for health. It is so nice of you to do the research about her gluten free eating. Do you think you may have the same problem?
  7. Ask your local health food store to order it to save shipping costs. Many stores if asked will order it.
  8. Check you soaps, lotions, shampoo and creme rinse for gluten. I have to use personal care products that are gluten free or I get horrible skin problems.
  9. I say go with the Udi's bread, white or multigrain. It will fill that empty spot. For that french bread craving, try Against the Grain's Baguettes (if you can have dairy). Their pizza crust is great too. Bi-Aglut or Schar's pasta is great if you can have corn.
  10. I'm one of those who can not do the oats. I've tried several times and it does not work. I figure oats are for horses and cows but not me.
  11. I'm another one who can not tolerate Tyson's.
  12. Best story I've heard in a long time!
  13. What exactly (brand names included, drink, eat, spices and condiments) did you have for lunch? Did you take any medications at this time?
  14. I agree about the white vinegar. I just fill up the fabric softener cup with straight white vinegar. Keeps everything soft, removes any leftover soap and keeps my washer from having any mineral build up. Towels also absorb more water since fabric softener reduces their absorbency.
  15. Glad you had your light bulb moment! I'm with you on this subject.
  16. Who's trying to run who off? If he loves you, he will respect that you need to be gluten free. It's really all about respect. You are a strong and independent woman. You may have to do some serious thinking about what you really want your life to be like.
  17. It is listed here as gluten free. Open Original Shared Link
  18. Glad to hear May Kay finally made their products gluten free. I called them about a year ago and they said they really didn't know because they have so many companies that make their products.
  19. "and had the product strewn all over the floor, his dog bed and my bed!!!!" I was thinking, if they tasted better the dog would have eaten all of it. lol
  20. Be sure to email or call the company to let them know how angry you are for getting a product that contained gluten after asking. They need to know how important it is to give the correct infomation. Ask for a refund too.
  21. Bluebonnet, Let me see if I am hearing correctly. Are you refusing to participate in the girl night with your sister just because it's always been glutened pizza and glutened cake? Or are you just not going to eat the poisoned items and still enjoy the time with your sisters by fixing gluten free pizza and gluten-free cake? No reason for you to be 1 of...
  22. What? I'm gluten free and I eat all those things!!! In fact I'm fixing spaghetti with french bread for dinner and I'm drinking a Coke right now. I certainly didn't give up my life when going gluten free. I just found gluten free substitutes, most everything can be made gluten free. Making pizza tomorrow and I'll fix my dh gluten free sandwiches for his lunch...
  23. I always ask the doctor how the second test will change the treatment I am going to be given. If there is no change in treatment I decline the test unless it's to check for something else.
  24. Forget trying to find replacements for pancakes, cereal or pop tarts. The thing with finding yourself something for breakfast is to stop thinking "breakfast items". Just go with a lunch or dinner idea. The Breakfast Police will not break down your door and drag you off to jail.
  25. I worried about their change in labeling when it first appeared. I have not had any problem with their green chilies. Hot sauce, now I won't buy any thing but Frank's Hot Sauce. Excellent taste and flavor. Nothing compares to this great hot sauce. I'm going to have to buy some for tomorrow! Love those chiles.
