  1. I love spaghetti squash. It doesn't take like a squash at all.
  2. So glad you are feeling better. I was worried about you. Now you know that those dark days will pass. If you can't afford the price of the B-12, take down the phone number on the bottle/box. Call the company to see if they have a program that can help with the price. A lot of drug companies do this because the person they help will talk positively about...
  3. Yes. Most liquor stores can order it for you. There are several threads on this forum that can tell you which brands have a gluten free beer. I know of RedBridge by Anneuser-Busch. Open Original Shared Link
  4. Before I went gluten free, my eye lids use to twitch.
  5. I still can't do the oatmeal. Not even the special gluten free cost a fortune ones. I have had the Muesli/Granola from Trader Joe's and from Bakery On Main. They are gluten and oat free which is fine for my body.
  6. kaki_clam, It's not just you, all of us are with you!!!
  7. When doctors want to to more testing I always ask what will they do differently after seeing the test results?
  8. IMO if being a celiac causes anyone to cross you off their list as a potential mate/friend they have a problem, not you. You have a lot to offer, stand tall and proud of yourself! You have done what most people would love to do, take charge and be responsible for their life.
  9. My dd is having problems at work with some behavior issues the last two weeks. Today while talking to her she was telling us about eating yogurt at her break. I'm having the group home check to see if they are giving her light yogurt. It contains artificial sweeteners which she can not tolerate. You might want to switch to just plain pepsi to see if your...
  10. Love how you have explained this problem to your ds!!! What an excellent mother.
  11. No-More-Muffins, Oh, thanks for bring up the soy! When I first went gluten free I couldn't tolerate soy either. Now I'm ok with it.
  12. I believe you can print some out here free. Make a donation if you'd like. Open Original Shared Link

  14. I agree about all the testing on little ones. I would do new tests but refuse (at this time, maybe later) to do repeat tests. I have a gluten-free kitchen so I do agree with EmilyR83. Especially with little ones who don't realize they shouldn't share. When my ds was little he was put on the Feingold Diet. I just put the whole family on it rather...
  15. Before I went gluten free I had a lot of abdominal pain and it felt deep, not on the surface. I use to think about kicking those doctors who always wanted to press on my abdominal area. Now it is not bad at all. Resist all you want but you will end up going gluten free after talking to a few of us. It certainly can't hurt you and you will be amazed at...
  16. Meat rolls all take less than two minutes. Ham rolled around a pickle. Turkey rolled around some sliced/canned oranges Roast beef rolled up after spreading with horseradish or mustard Roast beef rolled around a raw/cooked carrot (cooked carrot would be leftover from the night before) Any meat wrapped around a cucumber If you want to get fancy, put...
  17. Have you posted about this place so others in your area will know to try it out?
  18. Please know that we are right there with you. It will get better once you have gone completely gluten free. We are here to help you. You can do this!!!
  19. I started asking doctors when I was in my early 20s. They said I had a nervous stomach, colitis, IBS or that I just needed to relax. Was on phenobarb and Valium for year for 'this problem'. No improvement with my symptoms but I was flying just fine. Finally when I was in my 40s I was talking to my skin allergist about my food problems. He thought I might...
  20. Add beans to your diet. Beans as in soup type beans, kidney, navy, black eyed peas, lima beans. There are lots. They will help lower your cholestrol and give you the fiber you need. No they do not cause gas. At first you may notice more gas just because you are eating more fiber. They will stop. 1/2 cup twice a day of beans. Also if you have joint pain that...
  21. I'm love my Armour! My blood tests were always 'normal' so doctors would do nothing. I was icy bone cold, had super dry hair and skin, fatigued all the time, low temps like you and low blood pressure. But since the tests were normal...nothing. Finally saw an MD who treated fibromyalgia. She laughed because my supposedly 'normal' tests were way on the low...
  22. Just go gluten free to see how it goes. It's the best test available. You sure sound like you have the correct symptoms. It's hard to get diagnosed because there is no drug company pushing pills for this disease. Sounds like your last doctor was very good. When I had morning sickness I found a small piece of cooked steak did better than crackers. I...
  23. I use Gluten Free Pantry's Perfect Pie crust mix. I use the recipe on the back. I never put in the optional sugar. I make sure my baking powder is not past its expiration date on the bottom of the can. (don't use baking soda!) Once mixed I divide the dough in half. One half gets rolled into a ball, wrapped in plastic wrap and set into the refrigerator...
  24. Probably not what you want to hear but dairy can bother celiacs until there digestive system has repaired. If you find you just can't stop the dairy you could try taking a Lactaid to see it that helps. Lactaid is a brand name but most drug stores carry a store brand which worked for me. No prescription needed. I did this when I first went gluten free...
