  1. Welcome to the wonderful world of going gluten free. Sounds about normal for getting some gluten. There are many reactions that people have so this isn't so unusual
  2. I do agree with you on this issue. I do have problems with meat sometimes. Especially pork in this area where a lot of farmers feed wheat and old bakery items to their hogs. We had a patient who needed a few units of blood. Not problem but as I looked over her allergies, a lot of common foods, I suggested to the doctor that he order something in case she...
  3. I posted about this site earlier today. Once done I ordered from the site, 34 items. It was shipped out by 2 pm and is on it's way to my house. They get an 'A' for fast service. I think I'll make lasagna first! Hoping that FedEx driver drives all night from NJ to WI!
  4. It's back! Check your favorite online gluten-free stores or here: Open Original Shared Link
  5. I use to have problems. I finally took a year to get off the caffiene I was drinking, 2 liters of regular soda and several pots of coffee daily. Now I sleep great.
  6. I always wanted to be in a club! Love this.
  7. I've been gluten free for years and still can't do oats, gluten free ones or not. So I stay away from any oats.
  8. Against the Grain Baguettes (frozen) Almond Horseshoe Cookies (bakery) I haven't been to a Whole Foods for years so not sure they carry these items: Bi-Agult pasta (the best tasting and holds their shape, any of them if you can have corn) Schar Table Crackers (like saltines and taste the best) Schar Pastas are good also Guess I should make a trip...
  9. It's boring, it's troublesome and we all hate to do it. Keep a food diary. It might not just be one item. It could be when you eat two items close together. Write down anything that goes into your mouth including candy, gum and drinks. Also note if you change toothpaste, mouthwash or anything else. If you use a different spice, what fast food places you've...

    ARCHIVED Not Feeling So Good!

Some flavored teas and coffees might not gluten free so check those. Same if you drink soda, not all of them are gluten free either. Just remember to read labels of anything that goes into your mouth including gum, toothpaste and mouthwash. Better to check everything than be sorry.
  11. Bi-Aglut is the best gluten-free pasta I've tried and I've tried most of them. I buy it by the case when I can. Costly, yes, but well worth it.

  13. Welcome to the world of gluten free living. You will enjoy feeling better, it will exercise your mind as you find out what foods do not contain gluten and you can vent here any time. Let us know the test results. Sounds like you lucked out with finding a doctor who has/knows about celiac disease. You'll get more info here than any where else. No two people...
  14. These rolls are now on my must do list. tfs
  15. I was on Jury Duty for 3 weeks. Was very exciting and educational. Court can take a break if one of the jury has a problem. I had no problems with meals, I just told them what I could eat and why only these foods. I think everyone should serve on jury duty. I found it very shocking at the costs involved. One case was from across the state. Their own court...
  16. This is interesting. I'll have to see how much iodine I get daily. I never use salt unless I eat french fries (once or twice a year). I'm on thyroid meds but maybe some iodine will help. I'll let you know how it works.
  17. When I visited our little local china shop, the waitress actually knew about celiac and the restrictions. She told me a good rule was to order nothing with a brown colored or tinted sauce and of course nothing breaded. I now order something with just meat and veggies. I had ordered some fried rice to go and she wasn't going to let me have it until I told...
  18. Why are you eating so much gluten to cause you to be in the bathroom so often? I can understand this if you didn't know you were a celiac. I certainly do not think we need bathroom police. If you correct your eating habits you should have only once in awhile long/often bathroom breaks from accidental cc.
  19. Have a friend who's had one. I've been trying for years to get her to try a gluten free diet. She doesn't see it because "I don't have the runs all the time". I'd think with gbs you'd be more likely to develop it because the stomach is breaking down the food items for digestion as well as before surgery.
  20. Hope your Birthday made you many happy memories.
  21. Dieticians can also need some education. It really doesn't matter what the label says. If your body can't digest the gluten your gluten free. I had doctors argue over if I had celiac or sprue.
  22. I love Mesa Sunrise flakes and never have had any problems.
  23. I also used the pearl's as above. It firmed up my stools very nicely. Same happened with my dd.
  24. Gee, I've been gluten free too long. Nothing anyone mentioned is even tempting. I just ate dinner in Rochester, MN at Victoria's. DD had pizza and I had their lasagna with Alfredo sauce. I'm really picky about my food tasting good and over the years I've found replacements for most everything I like. I would have to say I miss phyllo dough. Yes, I could...
  25. Some ideas: Chili Soup and corn bread Any type of stir fried rice Chicken wings in a crock-pot I'm not a hot dog fan so I have not help there. lol
