  1. I made a run to pick up more bread a few days ago. I went ahead and grabbed one of the Udi's Whole Grain Bread loaves. Also excellent. I used it to make Patty Melts and Monte Cristo Sandwiches this weekend. Hmmm, Patty Melts think that's what I'll have for lunch today using the ends of the loaf since that's all that's left.
  2. I've been a dedicated devotee of Grandma Ferdon's pizza crust for years. Well I'm also fickle if I find something else I like better so I've jumped the fence to Against the Grain's Pizza Crust. Made pizza last night with the one ATG pizza crust. It's thicker than Grandma Ferdon's and has a little chew to it like a regular pizza crust. Excellent taste....
  3. Since you've just started going gluten free it might be a good idea to try cutting out the dairy and soy for a while until your intestines are healed. Also you might think you are gluten free but have overlooked something (spices, flavored coffee, gum, root beer). I thought I was doing good until I read this site. I've been nursing since 1974 so I too thought...
  4. Maybe it wasn't really the peanut butter cups but something else you eat that day or the day before without realizing. If it was just this one time that you had this reaction I'd wait and try them again in a few weeks. I just ate one this morning to see if I have a reaction since I'm one of the lucky super sensitive people.
  5. Congratulations Tarnalberry!
  6. Did you eat the pancakes plain or could it be the topping? I have a large bag of Pamela's mix that I picked up several months ago that hasn't caused me any problems yet. I'll keep this question in mind when I buy my next bag of flour or one of Pamela's mixes.
  7. I've been eating gluten free since 2003 but have had the problem all my life. It's taken me 6 years to convince dh to try a gluten free diet. Don't give up. This is week two gluten free for dh. He said the people at work are all "tempting" him with snacks and telling him he can cheat and I won't know. Of course they don't realise it's not me that will...
  8. Seems it would be scary to not be able to have kids and find out later in life you could have if you had been gluten free.
  9. May your Birthday bring you many happy memories that will last a lifetime.
  10. I get this feeling any time I'm using lotion/soap/shampoo that isn't gluten free.
  11. Yep, right on the package it says "Wheat free, GLUTEN FREE, Dairy free so it should be.
  12. still tiredofdoctors!, Love you approach! Sometimes that's exactly what it takes for people who think it's a fad diet.
  13. Nice of the company to get back with you.
  14. We have one too. It took a few nights to get use to but I won't give it up now.
  15. What an excellent comeback!
  16. 50 years ago Mayo did a study. Print it and hand it out to them. They may or may not believe it but you can provide them the information. Then just stick to your diet. Remember what they won't believe only hurts them. They may always decide to always be ignorant. Open Original Shared Link
  17. Used Bob's Red Mill Cornmeal tonight for dinner. Had a slight reaction.....so far.
  18. Yep, Daisy is on our ok list for now.
  19. Janie, I am so glad you are getting better! Your story will encourage and help others! tfs
  20. A friend was cooking for all us gals. She talked to me about what I couldn't eat, I always say no bread, crackers, flour or pasta. So she makes me a salad. A pasta salad. I don't know, I really must have paid more attention in school than most people. I didn't grow up on a farm but I do know about how food is made and from what. Of course when we lived...
  21. jensey, Sorry got carried away about the patty melts! Do not cheat. It is not worth it. You can find everything you crave in a gluten free form so your health does not suffer. It's worth the extra trouble to go completely gluten free.
  22. Now I've got to have a patty melt. You people with your suggestions are going to make me gain weight. Off to the store for hamburger. Yesterday I drove to get Udi bread while it was raining, sleeting and snowing. Well worth being out in the weather for that bread.
  23. I just checked my can, same notice.
  24. I always felt my babies move early.
  25. I picked up a "against the grain" pizza crust today. I'll have to try one of the ideas here for toppings.
