  1. On the Dr Oz show today, he recommended a glass of orange juice with a shot full of Aloe Vera juice.
  2. "Mothers (gluten-eaters) Want To Come "help" When Baby Comes?" Gluten Eaters, doesn't that sound like a really scary movie?
  3. "I'll have a grilled cheese sandwich--hold the bread." Here's the recipe for your grilled cheese sandwich: Open Original Shared Link
  4. Can you list all your lab results?
  5. I agree about the gluten free kitchen. You will be a lot healthier and if your child turns out to be celiac. Talk to your dh, he should be willing to go gluten free while home. It is not a punishment to eat healthy. There isn't anything that can't be made gluten free. He should talk to his mother about how important this is to his family. Tell anyone...
  6. You could try eating a few dried prunes a day to see if that helps. You also need to increase your fiber you eat so the food can be moved along in your digestive tract. If you haven't gone dairy and soy free for a few months you might want to try this to increase the healing of your digestive tract. It maybe inflamed and that is what you are feeling. ...
  7. Me too, I'm picky about what I eat, it has to taste good, like the real stuff. There is nothing on your list that I don't eat now except the pb&j. Never have like pb&j. The parmesan cheese I usually use for my sauce is out of the container. Spices could be salt, pepper, garlic powder, and I use an Italian blend of herbs. I don't measure spices...
  8. Against the Grain pizza crust, frozen. Excellent.
  9. Oh no, you can't kill him now, he's worth at least 5 bucks. lol Don't we just love our pets. At least when they aren't eating our baked goods. Another thought, who left it when the dog could get it?
  10. I'm sure there is a store in Syracuse that carries this bread. I'd call around to the health and natural foods stores in your area before paying for shipping for a loaf of bread. Check with the local gluten free organization in your area to see if anyone knows who carries Udi's products. Also Udi's might ship you a free sample if you call and ask. Some...
  11. Wishing you a very Happy Birthday that brings you many memories that will last the whole year.
  12. Ask around to friends if they know of anyone else. From what you posted I would not go back to him for an much of anything. Go with your gut feelings one this.
  13. I do agree about the Ener-G Tapioca rolls. I haven't tried the rolls made by Against the Grain but if they are as good as their pizza crust and baguettes they would be better. I've decided this year to add roll/bread warm to my collection. Gluten free items are so much better when they are warm when eaten.
  14. All year long, I do something Turkey related every fourth Thursday of the month (called Turkey Day) to prepare for Thanksgiving. I might review my menu, make a shopping list or try a new recipe. By the time Thanksgiving rolls around I know how everything will turn out. (yes, I also do Rudolph Day on the 25th of each month so I'm prepared for Christmas) ...
  15. Sounds more like it could have been the cream cheese. If you are new to a gluten free diet you should lay off the dairy and soy products so your intestines can heal.
  16. Please tell your son that I am very proud of his grades and his dedication to eating gluten free! (and that he has a great parent)
  17. Hope your Birthday gave you many happy memories that can last the whole year.
  18. The new drugs they use now are fantastic. You won't mind at all. I was worried because I always was vomiting after being put to sleep for surgery. I'd just had eye surgery in Sept, awake but drugged, it was great. Didn't mind a bit. I know I was asleep during my colonoscopy but I do not remember anything except arriving at the hospital. Same with my dh...
  19. The Fluffy Assassin, Excellent information. I've been thinking of a water system for the last year. We use to live where we had our own well but now have moved to city water. I can smell the chemicals in the water. tfs
  20. I've been gluten free for awhile so I've forgotten how it feels at the beginning. I love to cook and I love good tasting foods. I would never put tomato sauce on a rice cake and thing that's pizza (yes, had someone suggest this when I was moaning about missing pizza in my early days). Now I say I can make anything gluten free. I have two things I still...
  21. It is common for dairy and soy to bother people with celiac disease until their intestines have healed. With dairy it could be a lactose problem. Some people even after healing can not tolerate the lactose in dairy. Some people can eat cheese but not drink milk. A food and 'how your feel' journal should help you see a pattern. It could be something...
  22. OMG, this is exactly what my skin use to look like before I went gluten free. I had forgotten how it looked! Thanks for the memories. amberlynn, have you asked here if there is a good celiac doctor in your area. Just post a message with the topic as "Your town/area, celiac doctor needed".
  23. Since you know where you are going, email, call or stop in before the holidays arrive! They will be busy on the holiday and may not have time to research what you can have. If you ask early they can take the time needed to check ingredients. Stopping in to talk with the owner or chef will help. And if you can leave a gluten free dinning card that will help...
  24. Chinese rule. Don't order anything breaded or deep fried of course. Then anything with a brown sauce probably has wheat in the soy sauce so only order items with a light/white sauce. You can ask what brand soy sauce they use just in-case it's a gluten free one. I have yet to find a place using gluten free soy. Fried rice will probably have soy sauce so you...
