  9. I suggest you go with your dish and some crackers. No need to announce to the whole group that you have special needs. Go and enjoy each person instead of making the food the center of attention.
  10. Call your insurance to see if the doctor is in their network. Sometime insurance companies require a referral from your doctor to a another doctor.

  13. You may want to go watch him at school a few days. Is he getting a little treat from a friend at lunch (of course he is not going to tell you)? Are they playing with Playdoh at school or at a friends house? What about his toothpaste? It's hard to track it down as an adult. With kids it's even harder. Let us know what you find out.
  14. If you are sensitive like I am you might want to check your shampoo and toothpaste. Check your candy, breathe mints, flavored coffees/teas and sodas.
  15. I tell guests they can not bring gluten items into my house. Sorry but it's for health reasons. My dh is now gluten free but he did have gluten bread and snacks in the house. He had a cabinet for these items, he made his own lunch because I wouldn't and he had a section of the counter that was his and which he kept clean. Oh, he had is own toaster for his...

  22. In the olden days (before going gluten free) I use to toss pheasant breasts, a can of cream of mushroom soup and a can of mushrooms into a crock-pot. Everyone loved it. Gave some to friends to take home. Their ds ate this, went right into anaphylactic shock (he's fine, they had their epi-pen). He's allegic to soy. We looked everything over that I had...

  24. Early in going gluten free, red licorice was one of the strange things that shocked me to find out it contained wheat. A co-worker came dancing into the office with a huge bag of red licorice saying she was sure she'd grabbed some candy I could enjoy. She flipped the bag over to read out the ingredients and both our mouths dropped open when wheat was one...
  25. I made two stuffings. The one with the sausage was excellent because I used Udi's bread. The other was with Pamela's cornbread, dried cherries and apricots. I'll make them both again. The cornbread stuffing: I made one package of Pamela's cornbread according to the instructions (with water), added chopped fried bacon and two handfuls of chopped onions...
