Sounds reasonable to me.
Try your GP first and if he says no, try the next doctor. If all else fails and you can afford it.....you can contact directlabs.com You can get any test you want without a doctor. But of course you have to pay for it.

I had this for the first 6 weeks gluten-free.....it did calm down thankfully. You just seem to be going a little longer, so hopefully it will end for you soon too. I didnt gain weight either, but I was eating TONS. I think the body is trying to make up for lost time and trying to absorb as many nutrients as possible (so requesting as much food as possible). You might try a good gluten-free multi so you can give your body those extra nutrients faster.

You just say to your doctor: I want a full Celiac panel run please. If he objects, just say: I have done a lot of research lately and I keep running across Celiac and I feel that it just might be my issue. There is no harm in finding out is there doctor? I am so hoping you will be the doctor to help me, but if you cannot run these tests, then I will have to find a doctor who will. So I appreciate your consideration in this.

Welcome to the board Steve.
Congrats on your weight and health!

Your tests may come back negative because you were gluten-free and could have healed in that time. Most believe a few slices of bread a day is NOT ENOUGH. And you should be eating gluten heavily for 3-4 months BEFORE the test to get an accurate result.
So here is your issue. You know that gluten-free makes you feel better and gets rid of your symptoms. What are you going to do if the tests come back negative???
Tests are just that....tests.
The proof is in the diet. You already have your answer, but only you can decide if you want to be healthy.
Letting a doctor tell you that you are not Celiac because the tests come back negative can actually shorten your life, not to mention keep you miserable.
So be prepared.....you are likely not glutened enough to come back positive.
Hopefully you will and you will have the gold standard dx and can remove the gluten again become a medical statistic.

It sounds like you have your answer. But if you think you will live in "doubt" forever even though you are feeling better, then gluten up and get tested.

My guests always seem to be oh so impressed with baked cornish game hens and they are so very simple to cook. Just season and bake. Throw in a side of blanched green beans with toasted almonds and a baked potato.

7th Generation pads have wheat used as an "absorbent" material. So other pads might use the same wheat based material.

How awful.....I hope you continue to heal. And good for you helping others.

I only eat it sometimes in that delicious coconut "ice cream" by Open Original Shared Link
I dont overdue it because Agave Nectar is almost pure fructose which does the same thing as high fructose corn syrup. It causes insulin resistance according to all of the research I have come across. So just to be safe, I only use for special treats now and again.
Sub out some of your sweetener when you bake. Use same proportion as you would honey.

To my knowledge there is no pill for casein intolerance. You might be able to "mask" the symptoms with some drugs, but it does not solve the problem. The "pill" is for lactose intolerance. It is an enzyme that helps break down the sugar lactose. Lactose intolerance is due to a lack of the enzyme lactase. Casein intolerance is from a different mechanism. The body actually reacting either in an autoimmune or allergic way. No pill for that. Sorry.

I agree...dis-ese is multi-faceted. There is not "one thing" to fix.

Google "D-Mannose" as well as this can help the UTI.

They have discovered we have glutamate receptors. It is confusing because it sounds like "gluten".

Ali what you said made me realize something. My Mom, Sister and Brother ALL have psoriasis. I do not. You talk about families inheriting the same bacteria/diseases.
Why the difference for me and my siblings? Why didnt I get psoriasis? They were BOTH breastfeed. I wasnt.
Hmmmmmm...........

My first doctor was not letting me increase either.....so I did on my own. Like you I am thin. I was told for 10 years that I could not possisibly be hypothyroid because I was thin and not constipated. Well.....when they finally got wind of the new lab ranges......ho ho ho.....seems I am hypo afterall.
10 years of my life in misery due to doctors that think they "know it all". So when my doctor wouldnt up my dose, I didnt care. I found a source online and bought extra to augment my prescription. My doctor started me on 30 mg Armour, then reluctantly took me to 60. I augmented he rest. I am now at 180 mg. And I am roughly 115 pounds. I have had to increase periodically over the past year.
I know when I need an increase because my muscles start twitching and spasming non-stop day and night and my face/lips get numb. I up my dose and within a few days those symptoms disappear. There are also other more subtle signs I need an increase like: Hair starts falling out, eyebrows get thinner, tired, heart palps, anxiety and depression.
On the right dose or Armour I dont have these symptoms. So I simply do not care what ANY doctor thinks. However, my current doctor knows I up when I need to and doesnt chastise me for it. She asks how I feel. Now that is a novel idea!!!
How does the patient feel?????

I second checking to see if they did the complete Celiac panel (NOT GLUTEN ALLERGY) and Endoscopy (NOT COLONOSCOPY) at this point. You can do that one later.

Perfect advice.

My "friend" went from 29 day cycle to 34 since gluten free. Weird. I dont understand how it messes with the hormones. Im at a loss.
I hope they get to the bottom of your issues soon. No pun intended.

I too had to ditch the grains. Just not working for me after I went gluten-free. The only grain I eat now is maybe twice a month I have a few Tlb of amaranth flour to make a roux for a cream sauce me and my daughter like with clams. That is it!!
At first I thought cutting out grains would be hard and I would feel deprived. But that didnt happen. I just felt BETTER.
Even before going gluten-free, I noticed that grains made my blood sugar spike. Not good.

Yes thyroid meds often take a lot of fine tuning. Some do great on straight Armour. Some find it has too much T3 for them. If you have trouble converting T4 to T3 then it is usually a better choice than Synthroid/Levoxyl. But everyone is unique. Some people even do best on straight T3.
I take my Armour sublingually so I do not have to worry about whether my intestines are absorbing well. It has worked for me so far.

Looks like mild intestinal irritation. If your blood labs come back POS. A gluten free diet is the answer, no matter what the doctors say.
The PROOF is in the diet. You will know once you are on the diet long enough if it is the culprit.

With the right doctor you would get a definitive CELIAC diagnosis. Your doctors are just not very good at diagnosing. You can request that your biopsy slides be sent to another specialist for interpretation (a second opinion). It is your right.
But your blood panel is VERY ELEVATED. Why do you think that is? You shouldnt have ANY of those antibodies to gluten. YOU ARE CELIAC is the answer.
You are doing the right thing by being gluten free. Stick to it.
There is no need for further testing. NONE. IMO.

Google: PepZin GI
It helps heal the stomach lining. It is used in Japan for this and prescribed by doctors there. Non-toxic and safe.
You might want to stick with cooked/steamed veggies for a month or so. Raw veggies can be harder to digest at first. Or puree the raw veggies in a blender before eating.

You just get into trouble with ALL type statements, but I dont think Ali is saying this. There is merit in a lot of theories. I like to read what others discover. The more information I have the better.
