  1. Get a serum B12 and an MMA. You sound spot on for B12 deficiency which is very common in Celiac. Have they tested your Ferritin? Low iron stores can also cause neurological problems. You need a lot more tests. Cheap blood tests. But can tell you a lot. Perhaps a new doctor. One that knows more about Celiac.
  2. I make a peachy/cobbler/pie thingy with this and it is quite good: EGG-FREE, DAIRY-FREE PIE CRUST Ingredients 1-1/2 cups almond flour 3 tablespoons butter*, cold and cut into pieces 2 tablespoons honey 1/8 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt *you may substitute coconut oil for butter Instructions 1. Mix ingredients, and flatten...
  3. Too bad Adrearose contains PARABENS.......
  4. Keep in mind that Calcium and Magnesium compete for absorption, so you have to balance them to get enough of either. And many practitioners (and I agree) it is better to take the two separately. Take Magnesium for Bfst and Lunch (divided doses) and take Calcium at dinner and before bed (divided doses). There is a lot of information and research online...
  5. Many people have great success in eliminating ALL dairy with the gluten. And them many can add dairy back in once the intestines heal. Give it a good 2-3 months before trying dairy again. Soy is another big troublemaker for a lot of people in here. But try cutting out one thing at a time so you are not overwhelmed and so you can pinpoint the culprit....
  6. If any amount of supplemental mag. gives you "D", then try magnesium oil or soaking in a warm bath with Epsom Salts. The skin absorbs Mag. very well and bypasses the digestive tract.
  7. Great advice from mftnchn. Another idea is to use the KISS method. AVOID common troublemakers: Dairy, Soy, Gluten, Corn, Peanuts Eat Simple foods: Plain meats, Veggies, Fruits, Nuts, Eggs, Rice, Potatoes, Beans, Oils. Buy them plain and dress them up yourself with pure spices (avoid mixes as they usually contain gluten). Then after you...
  8. I did the same thing when I went gluten-free. After I got over the horror of the expense, it was fun to get all new make up and skin care. It is easy enough these days to email companies and ask about their gluten-free status. Most companies get back to you quickly. I am in the process of asking about Clarins tinted moisturizer right now. Just emailed...
  9. I buy Jojoba oil. I love it. A little goes a long way.
  10. Some Celiacs ARE this SENSITIVE.
  11. I do have housekeepers that clean my house every 2 weeks. I will just be thankful for what I have. Today I am trying to make the coconut yogurt. Fresh coconut. Will see what happens.
  12. That is GREAT news!! She is a keeper.
  13. I didnt include the term Celiac in my description, nor does the book focus on it. Instead, the book focuses on the different dietary factors that can lead to MS. One of them is gluten. This diet excludes, gluten, dairy, eggs, yeast, legumes and limits animal fats. It is not an easy diet. But the book is a good read and well thought out and researched...
  14. A housekeeper that cooks for you....I want one of those.
  15. Start cooking with pure virgin Coconut oil and using it in smoothies a least 2 Tlb a day. Get your Thyroid checked. Full thyroid panel with antibodies. Ask your doctor for the blood work. Drink...drink....drink....water....water....water. Eat foods high in fiber like LOTS of veggies and some fruit.
  16. I agree. Cut the dairy for a trial period of at least a few months to see if those symptoms go away. You can then challenge dairy by eating some pure dairy like milk or cheese. Stay away from processed foods like chocolate milk and ice cream for the challenge (because they have other ingredients you could react to). This way you can know for sure if...
  17. Janet, You may want to look into the SCD (Specific Carbohydrate Diet). I is working for many members (including me).
  18. Welcome! Can you go back to the doctor that tested you and get copies of your lab work? Without that we cannot tell you which you have. Otherwise, you should go to a new doctor and request a full Celiac panel. Honestly, if you have Celiac, this is not something to "play with" and be a "bad girl" with. The consequences can be quite grave. I know...
  19. Butter sub doesnt taste like butter - tastes better - much healthier. Mix equal parts high quality coconut oil and olive oil. Refridgerate. Use as a spread on bread or for veggies.
  20. Bear's eat roots, grubs, vegetables, plants, berries, insects, baby deer, and fish, they eat rodents, rabbits, moose, sheep, elk, and squirrels. If I was eatin like a bear....I'd be in heaven here....sooooo many squirrels.....LOL
  21. IF you can afford it, you might consider Enterolab as their results are supposed to be accurate even gluten-free (up to a year gluten-free). You can also get the genetic component of the test to see if you have Celiac genes. They also test for egg, dairy and soy. Afraid blood/biopsy would be neg for you now due to how long you have been gluten-free...
  22. Chrissy - Check out "The MS Recovery Diet" as I feel it condenses all of the information/research on a diet/MS connection . What is autoimmune disease? Why does the body attack itself in the first place? It doesnt make sense for the body to attack itself. There is always a trigger. My research indicates a dietary component to MS. Sometimes that diet...
  23. McDonalds fries have gluen. It is a new world for you and your family and there will be challenges. But keep your eye on the prize. A healthy little boy. A second opinion is never a bad idea, but keep in mind that bloodwork is notoriously inaccurate in children. The biopsy says it all. You might also need to go dairy free for a few months...
  24. Welcome!! I KNOW IT FEELS LIKE IT NOW.....but it is far from the end of the world. To me the end of the world would be for me to lose my hands or my vision (I am an artist). Giving up gluten.......a piece of cake! Cuz.....I can eat cake all I want. I can buy pre-made gluten-free cake that is super yummy. I can buy things like Pamela's mixes that...
  25. I too would go for the magnesium first. You can also try 2 - 4 oz of Aloe juice a day. George's aloe looks and tastes like water. But is very effective.
