My 17 yr old dd washes her hair everyday. Today she washed it before and after school. Her hair was greasy even after she washed and dryed it after school. She recently changed shampoos/conditioners. She has woken up with greasy hair every morning for several years. She has been a vegan for 7 months and mostly gluten-free for several months. She is not diagnosed...

ARCHIVED Milk, Buttermilk, Butter...what's Your Sub?
purple replied to SUZIN's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I was wondering about what to use for butter flavoring, I didn't know there was an imitation. That would work nicely when using shortening. Karina says to use butter flavoring, if not an issue. Thanks for the info. -
Thanks AliB, I have wanted to comment on that beautiful baby for a long time

ACV or lemon juice in a 1 cup measuring cup and fill with soy milk, let sit 8-10 minutes. Milk- almond, rice or soy (she likes soy best for drinking) Popcorn popped in lots of coconut oil, no... -

ARCHIVED Do You Remember "chicken In A Biscuit" Crackers?
purple replied to Darn210's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I just had a thought. How about buying a ready made gluten-free cracker to experiment on. Take the previous ideas and then rebake them if needed, like how you make chex party mix, try a few at a time. IDK which cracker b/c I have never bought any-too expensive -
I love reading your posts I love the pic...who's the pretty baby...YOU??

I had ordered echinacea with goldenseal mixed with it, but you are not supposed to take golden seal with those issues. I occasionally take them mixed...thats ok. It doesn't say not to take them together. Yeah, we follow the 2 week rule but never take ech more than a couple of days about 2 times per year. Under diabetics it only says not to take goldenseal...

I just saw this picture and the texture looks like those chicken crackers. Maybe some ideas will pop up on how to change the fishy recipe to a chicky recipe. I have never used Chebe. Open Original Shared Link -

ARCHIVED Now And Later Coffee Cake
purple replied to purple's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Good questions but I don't know for sure. If your mix has xanthan gum then you probably don't need to add any more. I haven't used mixes with x-gum. If you are using Ener G in place of the eggs then you may need to add some to help the cake hold together better. You might also add an extra 1/4 cup of applesauce, just a thought. I haven't tried guar gum YET... -

I am so thankful my kids didn't have to be gluten-free during the school years, just 1 dd did but as a senior only. We also live in such a small town that we don't have any fast food except what our Chevron offers, so that has been a plus this past year. What a hard time for you and others, I feel for all you parents and your kids! My other dd had to go...

I bet you could tape the foil to the pan or parchment before spraying... You could also use other cans like crushed pineapple, whatever size works... I am going to try several ideas at the same time, next time my dd comes home for burgers. Lots of good ideas on here...as usual -

				ARCHIVED Tostito Chip Dip Recipe
purple replied to CeliacMom2008's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Sounds great to me! I would probably use red peppers instead of green (taste preference) and I love green onions but not the others. Cucumbers sound good too...thanks for the recipe! mmm...chips and dips -
That's right, we take echinacea a few times the first couple of days, only if we feel like we are getting a head cold. It works too. It would be nice to know all the ins and outs about herbs

FYI...I read in my Nutritional Healing book, not to take goldenseal if you have glaucoma, pregnant, heart disease or diabetes (need doctors supervision). I remember b/c my mom has glaucoma. She takes echinacea but it can't be mixed with goldenseal. She is not a celiac. I am glad you started this thread. I have had a "wiggly" in my lower tummy a couple...

Update for anyone interested. I made a new batch today using the Gobsmacked flour blend, 2% milk and real butter. The biscuits turned out perfect and looked just like the picture. I never had to add any extra flour. Next try would be to add some cheese, ham or bacon bits. Great egg free, gluten-free, easy biscuit! Gobsmacked flour blend, soy milk,...

I got my dd started but I don't have an update yet except that her teeth are whiter. Should know more in a day or two. She is doing sesame oil. Update I talked to my dd today. She's been doing OP for about 2 weeks. She can only do it 5-8 minutes. A few very small sores in her mouth but not bothersome. She can tell her teeth are whiter. No other differences...
