  1. Mushroom, thanks for your great explanations! Passionfruit, I have 2 dd's 18/21. The oldest has been gluten-free for 1 1/2 years. Her symptoms were extremely bad menstrual cycles, bloating, dizziness now and then, stomach aches, internal bleeding a couple of times per year when very stressed and a few other minor things. She has not been tested except...
  2. My dh would love seviche. Thanks for the recipes.
  3. Chicken wrapped in bacon sounds great. I make that with water chestnuts and after the bacon gets done I pour sauce all over and bake until bubbly. I think I will try the chicken!
  4. You are welcome!!! I am glad they turned out for you! It was the first try to convert them to be gluten-free and it worked for me.
  5. These ideas sound fantastic...plz keep posting! I am thinking outside the box this year. We normally repeat Thanksgiving but with different pies. Great ideas to have for New Years too! I would make sweet and sour chicken and rice for NY's but hubby doesn't like it.
  6. We have always repeated Thanksgiving b/c its our fave, but I want something different this year. I make the no bake cherry cheese cake too...its so good! Maybe turkey for New Years. There is just 2 of us this year and then I will pack up food to take to my 2 dd's (the gluten-free ones) they both have to work and live over an hour away. Chinese sounds great...
  7. That is all the kinda stuff I like except what is seviche? I was thinking of Italian...yum! I love chips and dip but never buy it and that choc coconut fudge sounds great, mmm meatballs...I love meatball pizza! Do you buy or make your chili sweet sauce?
  8. That sounds great and easy...thanks for the recipe!
  9. I have decided to invite myself over to your house! So how do you make cranberry-orange relish...sounds great! I am learning to try new recipes and find out what I have been missing (always was a picky eater)
  10. I can't decide on what to have for Christmas dinner. So far: pickled beets (gotta have those!) cherry cream cheese pie (traditional) cranberry jello salad (loved it on Thanksgiving) spinach salad with berries Ham or turkey or lasagna or tacos or roast beef or pizza....? What's on your menu????? And what's for snacking and what...
  11. And what is fun is to prepare all your ingredients ahead of time then...like the chefs on T.V. you can just dump out your little dishes of ingredients as you need them. I add the frozen or fresh peas last.
  12. Ditto what Richard said. There was one called Yummy Fried Rice posted earlier this year. Use cooked, cold rice. Hot cooked rice gets gummy. Brown rice is chewy.
  13. Go here: Open Original Shared Link read through the reviews, there was at least one that used PART soy flour.
  14. Plz do post your results...that's how we all learn what to do and what not to do!!!
  15. YES THE DANISH LOOKS AMAZING! I wanted to make it before but my gluten-free dd lives over an hour away and I don't want to make it just for me (not gluten-free). She loves berries and cream cheese together!
  16. I went to a womens church party last night. The gluten-free items were the ones missy'smom posted except for chips and salsa. There was also a cream cheese block, spinach dip, chicken salad for scooping, egg salad (served on breads), potato chips, a pot of soup, stuffed celery sticks (looked like cream cheese and something pink like crab), a spinach salad...
  17. Aha, DROOL over these up-close photos I just found for the fudge cookies!!! Open Original Shared Link
  18. You are very welcome! Now I have to make them again so I can remember JUST how good they are
  19. You are welcome...once I started using sorghum mix (Carol Fenster's flour mix), I very seldom use the rice mix (Featherlite-Bette Hagman's mix). Weird about your results Ciavyn...I read the other day to let your mixed batter sit for a few minutes so the gritty flour can absorb the moisture and will make the out come less gritty. Also what if you use...
  20. Would this work? Open Original Shared Link
  21. I made this cheese ball yesterday, for tonight: Open Original Shared Link I used 1/2 a pkg of ranch dressing mix, added a dash of garlic powder and added green onions and crumbled bacon. Every New Years, I make Bacon Chestnut Wraps. If you search the web there are lots of recipes. I can post mine later if you want it. We look forward to it every year...
  22. For snow effect, dust cookies with powdered sugar.
  23. Thanks for the tips...I am one that hasn't cooked dates before
  24. Thanks for the tip! Do you think the recipe would work with Rice Chex, broken a little?
