  1. I've started just using regular cooking oil (the kind in the bottle) and a refillable oil spritzer. I think it tastes better than Pam
  2. I live in MA, my IL's live just outside Denver. Now you have given me a reason to visit them. Gee thanks jk
  3. I was a supid college kid who went off the diet (strict on it for a few years). I aws at my skinniest just before I went off the diet. Met my husband, went off the diet, and by the time I got married, and just ewnt back on the gluten-free diet I was at my heaviest. That was 9 months ago....still struggling to get the weight off. I told H after this weekend...
  4. Thanks...I'm not much of a fan of blue cheese but do occassionaly like it in some dishes. But I remember reading somewhere once upon a time that it was not gluten-free. At least I don't have to worry so much about it anymore. Thanks for the clarification
  5. I've always been told that Blue Cheese is not gluten free, it's made out of molded bread I believe....but more and more I see restaurants say that their Blue Cheese dressing is gluten-free. Can someone help clarify this for me? Are there some blue cheeses that are gluten-free?
  6. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  7. Their pizza can varry depending on who cooks it (and for how long). I've had them under done, over done, and just right. I'm not a fan of a lot of sauce on their pizza so I am a big fan of Uno's Pizza.
  8. Hm....maybe I have a lazy bowel as well....I'm lucky if I go once every other day, drink water and eat veggies like it's going out of style! I have an apponitment with my GI doc on Tuesday, I'll ask her about it then.
  9. LMAO - you know what I just realized that this post said "20+ years gluten free" not "anyone 20+ years old" LMAO!!! Sorry about that....but at least you get a perspective from someone a little greener....and who went off the diet for a period of time as well!
  10. Hey neighbor!!!! I'm actually in Lowell. As far as I know there really aren't any support groups in this area...but there are some in Newton I believe. I have to go digging through old emails to find it though :-)
  11. I'm sorry you had such a horrible experience....I've never had an issue when I go. I haven't been to Outback in years (but have been craving it lately)....My husband and I usually go to Uno's...and also have never had a problem there either.
  12. What is the best advice you can give somebody starting out? Don't cheat!!! not worth it even if you feel better! I went off the diet for 2 years because I never had many symptoms when I was diagnosed (family history was the cause for testing). Then i started reading more about it - and notice that I had a lot of symptoms that they don't really tell you...
  13. My cousin was in and out of the hospital from age of 3 to 6 years old. Diagnosis - Celiac. Since her diagnosis, myself, aunt and grandmother have all been diagnosed - and it's been about 20 years since my cousin was diagnosed. It comes from my father's side, but he doesn't have it (according to him) - but he's been showing more sympoms lately of celiac...
  14. I developed more acne after I went off the pill and had an IUD put in - I'm chalking it up to decrease in hormones that was helping with the acne. I feel like i'm 14 again! I also felt dizzy after, the doc said that I didn't need a ride home, I'm glas my H was with me when i had it in. I went upstairs, took 4 advil (per doc order) and crashed into bed...
  15. The iPod is a safety issue - if you're riding a bike, and it falls, your eyes can come off the road, crash into someone, fall off your bike etc. They also think that if the ipod falls out of a case while you're running you could trip over it as well. Personally, if you're running one for fun (I know I use to do Danskin - that one was fun), people ran...
  16. I would have used salt....but soap was the only thing near by. It just is so horrible that even if I am glutened accidentally I CRAVE gluten....bread, cakes, cookies, anything I can get my hands on. It's just like I'm a drug addict. I hate it!
  17. I haven't had children or been pregnant and I have the Mirena...I love it! My periods are regular (although longer than when I was on BC....they're about every 35 days now instead of every 25).....and my periods are barely anything. Wear a liner for 2 days and you're as good as new! I will say, the first period I had after I had it inserted I thought I...
  18. My husband looked up the ingredients and saw that there was the word 'wheat' in the ingredients. He wouldn't let me eat them. I was PO'd. Are any other fast food chain french fries ok? BK...wendy's???
  19. I do...I had posted yesterday about how I dumped soap on left over cheesecake that isn't gluten-free. And I've been craving it and craving it.....I've been very mean to my H....depressed....I can't type and talk. It's crazy! I hate it!
  20. Well because of the way the trash can is....the container would have just sat on top. Although sounds gross - I didn't trust myself with it just sitting there. And I walk by it every time I get water. So to be safe...I soaped it. I just need my system cleared out. I'm just angry at myself right now for letting myself get this bad....Grrrrr
  21. I haven't been to the Burlington Mall in a while, but I believe that there is an Uno's in the mall. Also Cheesecake Factory. I believe they are gluten free friendly.
  22. Sigh....the title says enough. This weekend was my mother's surprise b-day party. It was my responsibility to take mamma dukes out and keep her occupied while my father and my husband set up the party. Well we went to TGI Fridays (first mistake). Ordered potato skins (second mistake) and mom wanted spinach dip (third mistake). I wasn't going to say no...
  23. OMG...that sounds fantabulous!!!! Thank you so much!!!!
  24. Does anyone know if there is any gluten free caramels out there? I am making a brownie recipe for a pampered chef show that calls for caramels - the chewy kind, not the hard kind. I know Werthers have wheat in them. Any help would be appreciated.
