  1. That's just so wrong (on her part). I'm glad you're feeling better. HOpefully you around someone more sane now.
  2. My fiance has kidney disease, I have celiac, Cancer runs rampant on both sides of our families, heart disease as well. We're still going to have kids, and we even joke that we're having kids so we can harvest more kidneys for my fiance incase he ever ends up needing a transplant (or more than one) lol. Just because you have celiac, or the gene for it, doesn...
  3. I was gluten-free for 2 years, then I slowly started to cheat, didn't feel anything. No pains...no D...nada. But after 2-3 years of being off of the gluten-free diet, I noticed even though I was working out a lot and losing weight but I looked pregnant. I was also having the "gluten brain farts" and studdered so much, more often than not. I've been gluten...
  4. I haven't read through all the replies, but this brings back to this past weekend - My father moved meat all over the grill with a marinade isn't gluten-free, as well as corn, and my burger with the same utensil. The my mother blamed me for not telling them to stop (which I had already explained to them earlier that day and week to cook my burger completely...
  5. Honestly, the 4th isn't too bad for me. I love burgers....hold the bun. and I drink more daiqueries and pina coladas on this day than any other day during the year. Make yourself a pitcher of Margaritas and tell everyone you're too good for beer anymore lol. Although I would love a good beer right now....I'm happy and content with what I have been drinking...
  6. It's a Pina Colada you can have with a spoon ::runs to find a blender - craving Pina Coladas::
  7. This is great! My in-laws live in Highlands Ranch (I'm in Massachusetts) at least there is a place I can go for pizza now out there
  8. You're more likely to get your identity stolen over the phone or in a store rather than online, especially from a site that's reliable like Symantec.
  9. Although I'm the one with celiac, my fiance's stomach goes nuts too when we eat Kilbasa. It's something he didn't eat for the longest time and when he did, his stomach yelled at him. I know processed meats (like sausages), red meats and sodium kill my fiance's stomach (mainly because he has his own dietary restrictions as well). Maybe it's the same thing...
  10. I've tried De Boles before and wasn't a fan. Tinkyada is def my favorite! De Boles just fell apart on me and Tinyada holds up more like pasta should. I definitely don't cook the pasta for the entire time on the package either. As others have said, pasta is something you need to play with until you get it just right. Good luck!
  11. I'm reading the idiots guide to gluten-free living right now...and there is a Gluten free living for dummies as well. The idiots guide isn't too bad.
  12. I've been eating it in the morning....cup of skim milk and a banana. It's not bad, of course I'd give my right arm to find a really good frosted mini wheat...that's gluten-free. Plus it's better than the gluten-free cornflakes I've been eating...I think I had more stuck in my teeth than in my stomach. Like anything else...don't knock it til you try it
  13. SWEET!!!! I'm dropping my fiance off at the airport in a couple of weeks for his bachelorparty trip.....I think I'mgoing to have to stop here and pick up meals for my extended weekend :-)
  14. Earthy lol....thank you though. I might just pick up a box of this stuff!
  15. I never presented the classic symptoms either. I had mild constipation and some heartburn, nothing that made me nervous or see the doctor about. My primary knew of my family history of celiac, I told her of some of my symptons (i think she was prying for me to have symptoms) then had me go to the lab to draw some blood. low and behold...I have celiac. ...
  16. Ok....another question. What does it taste like. For some reason it scares me.
  17. Although I'm looking forward to my honeymoon, I'm dreading it at the same time I think I'm going to stock myself up with lara bars and call it a week. I hope TSA doesn't mind that my entire suitcase will be lara bars lol. The place we're going to has buffets for breakfast and lunch and a sit down dinner....I think I'm going to wake up ASAP to get to...
  18. It could be related to going gluten-free....environment changes can effect your period....this might be the case. The day I went gluten-free was the day I got my IUD in, so I'm really not much help though.
  19. What about Crock pot cooking? I usually throw in some chicken, veggies, spices and some liquid. what about a taco salad or a tostada. instead of trying to cook meat, just cut up some veggies, smear some refried beans on it and call it a taco salad (and a little sour cream too if you can have it). Tostada, same thing, but just layer it on a corn tortilla...
  20. I'm O+, and my fiance is A+ (though he's not celiac or gluten/wheat intollerant). I love red meats and they make me feel so much better if I haven't eaten them in a while. I try to eat it one every week/every other week. He on the other hand can't handle red meats as well. I know both of my parents are O+ and the celiac comes from my dad's side. I'm...
  21. I live in Lowell, work in Waltham. A friend of mine told me about HealthVilli meetings at Mass Bay College Open Original Shared Link I haven't had a chance to check them out but she enjoys going to them.
  22. Good to know....I'm just glad i don't have to bring my own food to my rehersal dinner
  23. Here is the email that I just received back from them: A variety of items on our menu are suitable for a gluten free diet, though preparation for some items may need to be adjusted. Our Salmon Florentine and any of our salad selections are excellent main course selections. Please be sure to request your salad to be prepared without croutons or breadcrumbs...
  24. My future in-laws are booking our rehersal dinner at Bertucci's Restaurant in Danvers, MA. I've sent an email to them and waiting to hear back, but I was wondering if anyone here has eaten there and have/haven't had a problem. Thanks! Jami
  25. I'm not going to get DX'd again. I guess I'm going to a new doc just incase anything happens or for some reason I get worse so at least I have someone close by....I dont know
