  1. my reactions have intensified since going gluten free.
  2. what exactly was your test that was negative?? if you feel ok posting it here- lots of us can help you further. false negatives are very common... and INCOMPLETE test orders are also very common. both of my tests were part negative & part weak positive.. with only the EMA being positive. took me another 2 years and a genetics test to get me to...
  3. i thought blue cheese was safe untill i was at whole foods one day- wanted to get one of the salads with blue cheese crumbles on it. the label said that it contained wheat- (because of the bread mold). but then i went to the cheese guy- and he was baffled- he said that it was possible and that blue cheese is made with MANY different molds. so, ive tried...
  4. wow, no wonder my tests were so inconclusive. but i couldnt have done more than 4 slices/2 weeks-> my anxiety was THRU the roof!!
  5. im not an expert on stones.. they would have to do an xray/mri/or catscan to see if you had stones, right? you might be interested in looking in to liver flushes.. ive done several. they're a real pain in the a to do tho- if they're not gonna be productive. ive done 4 or 5 of them, and i only had 1 flush where i got out like 200-300 stones- so that was...
  6. who you talking to? yes- garlic is super good for you. but some of us (like me) have additional intolerances. i cannot handle too much fructose or fructans. i can eat garlic, onions, artichokes... but only in small amounts or one at a time. if you dont have any digestive issues with it, then gorge away
  7. yes, the EMA was the only SOLID positive on my test. BUT- again, you need to be eating enough gluten (4 slices of bread a day) 6 weeks to 2 or 3 months for an accurate test. there's also a newer test people here keep mentioning- i'll get the name wrong... sorry
  8. this, to me, looks like they only tested you for wheat or gluten ALLERGY, which i believe is different from Celiac antibodies tests. i think.
  9. yes you should all be tested before going gluten free. and YES- gluten can cause all those problems you mentioned. but- if you've already tested positive for Igg antibodies to gluten... that tells me that you're gluten intolerant or celiac. what was the Igg? Tissue transglutamase??
  10. thanks
  11. i recently read about the gluten in breastmilk too. and the authors suggested that we may also have a problem with dairy-> if the cows were fed wheat
  12. we're not allowed to post links to others' blogs?? ive done it several times- when someone was asking for recipes, etc. ?? is that ok? as long as we're not "pushin their blog business" ???
  13. my symptoms TOTALLY vary with gluten!! years (and even just months ago)- it seemed to just be cumulative intestinal pain and constipation & strange bms, plus random skin issues, and anxiety, and oversleeping, and decreased foot padding, etc, etc, etc, but the last few times ive had tachycardia, nausea, and overheating and yes- many of us, and maybe...
  14. so we know from your first result that you're Iga deficient but what is the "IgG" ??? is it for Tissue Transglutamase? or Antigliadin? it looks to me that your doctor didnt run enough tests. its not a complete picture. you could have a number of different things- and our docs need to do a better job of finding the answers. you may need to go on a proper...
  15. hhmmm... well im very picky and opinionated.. so sorry if i step on anyone's toes... ive tried: bob's red mill gluten-free brownie mix- HATED it...too gummy pamela's brownie mix- threw it away.. awful pamela's Vanilla cake mix- DELICIOUS!!! the only gluten-free cake mix or cake that ive ever enjoyed- fluffy, perfect, i made homemade buttercream icing...
  16. i know- i swear there's members on here that could order better blood and biopsy tests than these docs from what i understand, it seems as tho they dont really teach the doctors enough about Celiac, because it's not a money maker for Big Pharma. so, many docs dont know, or think it's the "disease du jour" also, villous damage in the small intestine...
  17. how cool to get answers like that-> who did you do your tests thru??
  18. there was probably wheat in those meatballs my last gluten meal was going to be Bang Bang Chicken and Shrimp from Cheesecake.... it's not a meal you would equate with gluten- but its one of my MOST favourite meals on the planet- and i was sure gluten was probably in the sauce (an imitation recipe online had soy sauce in it). anyways- when i was...
  19. yes- above poster has given you a lot of great information. im no expert- but i think you should not worry about miscarrying... try to relax- i do not think there is ANY link between celiac genes and having a miscarriage (**unless YOU had Celiac and were not eating gluten free). my sister in law had trouble breastfeeding in the beginning-> she...
  20. WHOA- first off- i have never heard of this before but it sounds fascinating!!! im gonna have to go look it up now and you do know that Gluten can cause A LOT of neurological problems and illnesses, right??? another reason why i want everyone in my family tested!!! my dad's parents both had dementia... and i'd really really love for my dad to stay "with...
  21. i was having issues 60% of the time with romaine or boston head.. so i switched to baby greens and mixed herb salad- which i only have issues with 10% of the time. im not sure what it is. i have Fructose Malabsorption- but that diet can be different for everyone- i know a girl with FM who can NEVER handle Romaine or Boston Head... EVER. ?? i also...
  22. maybe the apple cider vinegar is killing bad bacteria or yeast that normally makes you crave sugar??? ok, im just guessing. apple cider vinegar DOES help your body prepare to make digestive juices- so you should probably do the cider vinegar like 20 minutes befoe you eat a meal with protein. are you trying to lose weight?? i would advise you to try...
  23. idk about that... this is my first patch of DH ( i think) and im 38. before this i only had severe excema, psoraisis, dandruff, and a couple of unidentified things- all left when gluten free. except this DH, BUT- i think people on here say that it DOES go away ??
  24. its genetic and very likely that you're not the only one. if you're diagnosed, then technically, the docs should be testing your family (if they're willing... i know, i can totally relate).. ALSO- remember only 1 in 6 celiacs reportedly have gut symptoms... good luck
  25. i think our docs are too dismissive of us.. he should be tested.. more people have a few autoimmune diseases than just 1. it doesnt mean we all do, but its very very common for people to have a few. ps- i have read many times that it's 1 in 10 for immediate family members, and 1 in 29 for extended family. im trying to get my family tested too ...
