ARCHIVED Toblerone
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to flagbabyds's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I had the same cravings for Toblerone about 6 months ago, when I thought about all those German chocolaty things, that I can't have in the states. Well, in Germany I had Toblerone all the time, so I read the ingredients and then I just bought it and 10 minutes later it was gone. It was soooo good and I didn't have any glutensymptoms...Enjoy! Hugs, Stef -
ARCHIVED Pregnancy Update, Ladies?
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to a topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I like Joshua and Eli, very nice names. I wish you guys a healthy pregnancy and when the little ones are there a wonderful time with your babies. I like that one. At least we still have our humor . My husband and I are trying since I came back from the worlds and well, I think, it worked. I'm at day 45 of my cycle and still no period... -
ARCHIVED Dry Mouth When Glutened?
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to tiffjake's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes, it's with me, too. With us during the training drinking is allowed, but not during the belt tests. And I always tell my students to train for that. They look even more strange at me, when I drink during training, because I was glutened. But I'm incredible thirsty then, too. And my mouth is so dry, I can't speak to explain the exercises anymore. ARCHIVED Minute Maid Fruit Punch
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to jknnej's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi there, I drink it and I never had any problems. I react with every little tiny bit of gluten. Hugs, Stef -
Hi Jen, I did the same thing. But Laura already said it. It's not always save to eat at some of those restaurants, because of cross contamination. And the big difference between Outback and McDonald's is, that Outback's cooks know what they're doing and they work together with the GIG. McDonald's does not. Their people don't have a clue what gluten is...

ARCHIVED Correlation Between Gluten And Sugar.
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Rusla's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yeah, it's just like at the moment. I'm not hungry, I just had an egg omelette. But I just thought: "Hm, how about some chocolate." It's not, that I can't get it into my mouth fast enough. I just like the taste of it, it satisfies me Hugs, Stef -

ARCHIVED I Think This Is Step The Kicking Kutie
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Publications & Publicity
Thanks, Laura, this makes me so proud . First I was afraid of mentioning celiac (just like the "big" celebrities ). But then I "jumped over my shadow" and told 'em. Now it's out and actually it wasn't that bad. Actually it gave me a little bit of popularity. Since I'm back from Canada strangers on the street talk to me about this, cause they remember. Isn... -

ARCHIVED Celiac Newbie
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to jrbeek24's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I was self diagnosed and got a confirmation from my doctor with a blood test later. I for my part do believe this. Let's just wait a few years and they will find out... Celiac is also called the big chameleon, because of the huge amount of symptoms it can hide under. And the "treating with drugs"-problem is, what makes me mad ... -
ARCHIVED So Glad I Found This Forum!
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to traveljunkie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hello Judy, welcome in our little "celiac community". Just listen to your body. If the test results didn't show anything, but you feel better on wheat and milk free, then do it. You might have read this already somewhere in here, but here it is again. Celiacs are sometimes (especially at the beginning of their diet) intolerant to milk. In a couple of weeks... -
ARCHIVED Correlation Between Gluten And Sugar.
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Rusla's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I guess, now I have more brainfog than before. I never had increased chocolate cravings because of my monthly menses. Bah, I have it literally all the time. There just popped another thing into my head I noticed: When I had a little bit lower weight (well, actually it was waaay lower) I got my menses in time and now, that I actually gained weight, I'm not... -
ARCHIVED Correlation Between Gluten And Sugar.
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Rusla's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I don't take a single Calcium / Magnesium Vitamin. But it's also in the multivitamin I take every day for quite a while now. And I still have cravings for chocolate. The other thing is, why do I ONLY have cravings for chocolate and not for chips, sweets and all that other munchie stuff. So actually this could be true . I really have no idea. I guess I just... -
ARCHIVED Ear Problems? Dizziness?
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to PicturePerfect's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I also had severe dizziness the last years before being diagnosed with celiac. After going glutenfree it took about 6 month. I'm completely free of any dizziness whatsoever today. So I think, if it's caused by celiac, that it can get better and even disappear with time. Hugs, Stef -

ARCHIVED Introduction And Question
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to pedsarnp's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi there, welcome on our message board . If you're a nurse practitioner you probably already know this. A sensitivity against milk and other food allergies are often caused by celiac. That means the other posters already said this. It might not hurt to get the kids (or only your son with the anaphylaxis against dairy and nuts) checked. Hugs, Stef -
ARCHIVED Celiac Disease Trigger
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Dewilda's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes, that's true. I also had a traumatic experience at the dentist with a tooth surgery. I'm terrified of dentists. After the anasthetic was gone, the symptoms appeared for the first time. Stef -
ARCHIVED I Think This Is Step The Kicking Kutie
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Canadian Karen's topic in Publications & Publicity
If you want to see it at 4th place, I mean. The thing is, that there is one 1st place, one 2nd place and TWO 3rd places . All four of them are in the finals in the form performing classes. I missed this final with 1/10 of a point. So theoretically spoken it's a 4th place, cause there are two 3rd places and no 4th place in the finals. But some people say... -

ARCHIVED Going To Wegmans For Gf Foods, Any Suggestions?
stef-the-kicking-cuty replied to Judyin Philly's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Hi Judyin Philly, if you look out for a shelf in the Natural Food section. Most Wegman's have their own glutenfree shelf. There's actually a sign hanging from the ceiling that says "glutenfree" over this shelf. One thing I can absolutely recommen, if you like chocolate. Go to the international section (if you have one in your Wegman's, I always go to... -
ARCHIVED Bloating And Diarrhea From Snickers
stef-the-kicking-cuty posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi there, I feel so terrible. I feel like I had a load of gluten or something. The whole disaster started yesterday evening at about 9:00. I haven't had a Snickers for a couple of weeks. Yesterday evening I thought, "OK... Your weight is fine so you might be able to eat some junkfood. Especially since you haven't had it for a while." I went to our junk...
