ARCHIVED What Are You Serving At Your Superbowl Party?
wschmucks replied to amybeth's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
We are making buffalo wings, nachos- with chicken and all sorts of goodies, and onion rings. I've never made the onion rings before but it sounds easy! Just milk flour, egg and baking powder! I also saw this recipe for corn dof muffins! Just make normal corn bread muffins but add chunks of hot dog and cheese is you want...I'm debating that too. OH! and... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Disease, Msg And Lactose Intolerance: How Severe?
wschmucks replied to David's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hey David, It might take a while for your body to adjust. It took me about 3 months to start to notice a difference (not feel back to normal, but see any real improvement). If you are worried about other allergens I would try to get tested for them. This way you dont have to deprive yourself of the food (we are already so limited) and you will know for... -
ARCHIVED How Do You Get Your Whole Grains In?
wschmucks replied to clnewberry1's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
I'm not sure about Fiber, but Quinoa is the only grain that provides a complete protein. It's very good for you. I use it in as the grain and in my cooking too and really enjoy it. -

wschmucks replied to digmom1014's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have not had a problem with Glutino pretzles and I really enjoy them. I thought Glutino was one of the purest gluten free companys? I enjoy their breads too. Is there maybe another ingredient you may have reacted to? -
ARCHIVED Gluten In Sushi.
wschmucks replied to OneScrewLoose's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I have been told this too. Even if you think it's silly...it NEVER hurts to ask if anything was added or cooked with the rice. There was a post a few months ago where a girl got glutened by edemame that was steamed using water...that was previously used to cook noodles with gluten in it--CRAZY. I would ask cause you never really know. -
ARCHIVED How Long Did It Take You To Heal?
wschmucks replied to clnewberry1's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
FYI they do make gluten free and yeast free bread-- and it's not bad, I actually like it. They have it at Whole Foods in the gluten-free section. If they do not have it in stock they will order it for you and it will be there in about 2 days :-) -
ARCHIVED Found Gluten In Nutribiotic Berry Rice Protein Powder
wschmucks replied to climbmtwhitney's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Yes please post their response. I just started using mine again yesterday and today...I'm only 3 months in so i dont know how sensetive i am yet. But I will stop using it until you hear back. :-( -
A product that is labeled "Gluten Free" should not contain any gluten-- even if there isnt a law enforcing it. It should mean exactly what it says. If they mean that there arent ingredients in the product-- fine-- say tno gluten ingredients. But I do not think it is fair or safe to consumers to say something is gluten free, when there is gluten in it, regardless...

ARCHIVED Lasagna With Other Noodles?
wschmucks replied to amybeth's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
My Boyfriend actually made the noodle from scratch using white rice flour and it didnt take too much time. It was really good! Just roll it out with a rolling pin. Maybe just make the noodle the night before? Another suggestion-- that im going to try is using zuchini slices to seperate the rows. I am a big veggie nut though. I can certainly understand... -

wschmucks replied to climbmtwhitney's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

I havent noticed a bad reaction from it-- but then again im already feeling bad when i take it-- and im only 3 months gluten-free so I'm still feeling out my reactions. I thought the box specifically said gluten free..??? Where can... -

wschmucks replied to raisin's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I used to think that makeup wasnt a problem either-- but then i started to pay attention... and realize how many products can make it into your mouth. Maybe not so much mascara and eyeliner, but any bathroom product: lotion, shampoo and blush, foundation, powder-- can easily make their way onto your fingers which mean its bound to find its way into your... -

wschmucks posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi All! I Just called the emergen-c company to see if their new lemonaide flavor was gluten-free. I had seen on this site before that only the orange flavor was gluten-free, but I just talked to their customer services and she said that they are ALL flavors are gluten free "containing no wheat, rye, barley or oats". Pretty cool! -

wschmucks replied to jasonD2's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hey there, I am 24 and can totally relate. And so far I have found that I am more worried about the whole eating out thing/ drinking at bars etc than my friends are-- meaning: they dont notice that I'm not eating/ drinking and it doesnt bother them, so the only one feeling wierd....is me...which IS somthing I can control. I have worked hard to accept... -
ARCHIVED Nature's Path...
wschmucks posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hey guys, I remember reading in a post recently that Natures Path doesnt segregate their food. So even though they make several gluten free cereals etc they arent safe to eat. Is that true? Should i just buy cereals that read "Gluten Free"? Thanks! -
Hi there! Would you say that for Balsamic Vinegar? (not sure the source). I had a salad yesterday, i dont think i can tolerate the raw greens, but could it have been the vinegar too? I'm now 3 months gluten-free...Hmmm Also-- the natropaths I went to had no clue on celiac. I had one that i worked with for about 7 months, who ran a food sensetivity...

Hi Everyone, A few weeks ago I was able to go see a specailist at the Stanford Celiac Clinic. I booked the appointment about six weeks in advance, drove and hour to get there and was very excited to meet with someone who would be able to lead me in the right direction and give me a game plan to getting better. He did review my endoscopy slides...

ARCHIVED Any Tips With Diet For Someone Who's Been gluten-free For Over A Year?
wschmucks replied to DeerGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I do not eat anything that says it was made in the same factory as wheat. I find it nearly impossible that is there is wheat in the air etc that there isnt some of it in my food. Natural Flavors-- I call the company or look it up. It really comes down to logic. I just think... "this is salsa (insert food naem :-)), do i really need the salsa so much,...
