i don't expect them to make me food specially, i just won't eat the gluten stuff--the only thing i would expect is them to leave me alone about it! so i filled up on the veggies that i could have (and ate something else later). but my dad & stepmom still insisted that i eat the chicken. i didn't, but i just want to make sure i'm not crazy....

Yep! You definitely need to see a GOOD thyroid Dr. Make sure you get a natural thyroid medication similar to Armour (which has T3 and T4) This will help your constipation TONS! Go to www.stopthethyroidmadness.com and there is a ton of information that is very helpful.

Make sure to have your Thyroid checked-- and even if your numbers are within "normal range" you want your TSH to be around 1 and FreeT3 to be above 3 (MAKE SURE THEY TEST FreeT3- insist that they do). I have Celiac and was constipated for years. Nothing I took helped at all and once i started thyroid medication about a month later it was gone! it was amazing...

ARCHIVED Im 13. Gluten Free 7 Weeks And Still Get Bloated
wschmucks replied to runningcrazy's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi there-- I has the exact same symptoms as you-- feeling full after a few bites, constipation, bloating. I am almost to my 1 year gluten-free mark and it is ALOT better. Two things made a difference to me: I went on the SCD for 6 months- this helped me find my baseline for feeling normal. Before that Icouldnt tell what bothered me because everything did... -
I get no symptoms until the next day-- so youre not the only one :-)

ARCHIVED gluten-free, Low-cal Club Drinks
wschmucks replied to JillianLindsay's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
easiest and lowest calorie drink is vodka soda (no calories or sugar in the soda) :-) Just make sure the vodka is NOT flavored (not gluten free). -
ARCHIVED Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte
wschmucks replied to haleym's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
The pumpkin spice latte is Gluten Free :-) All of their flavoring syrups are gluten free (but the vanilla shaker next to the lids...is NOT gluten free!). -
ARCHIVED Was It Lexapro Or Gluten (cc)?
wschmucks replied to OliveBranch's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I used to be on Lexapro and never had any GI symptoms with it. Also I would never eat sliced deli meat from the deli. I would buy it in a package after reading the labels. If they ever sliced bread or any gluten containing meat on the slicer that enough could do it. Delis usually make sandwhiches which mean bread crumbs. I wouldnt eat sliced deli meat if... -
YES! I know that hot feeling! This is how i used to feel when i was in my first few months or when i get glutened. I think it has something to do with dehydration caused by the villi damage or something. I remember reading that water is also absorbed in the small intestines so it can be effected. Anyways she is not alone with this feeling and it did go away...

There are other autoimmune diseases that can cause these symptoms. I think Lupus has that among its symptoms. Although I am not one of those people who dont believe in Candida, I do think that its important to rule out all other possible problems first especially because candida symptoms are so vague and common symptoms of other diseases. I would see your...

ARCHIVED Going Back To Meat...maybe. Craving Protein.
wschmucks replied to foodiegurl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yep- i was vegan before i had to go gluten free because of celiac and now i eat meat in every meal. To be honest meat does have alot of really important vitamins and minerals, if you eat low fat meat it is probably one of the healthiest things for you. Its especially important for us because of our malabsorbtion issues...so its probably best that you do... -
Yea if you think its candida related I would absolutely do the SCD. At least that way you will know if it is or is not candida.

Shes playing around with my thyroid medication first. But I see her on Monday and if the test didnt work I'll let you know what she has to say about Nuvigil.
-
Great thanks for the advice! I am going to call my Dr tomorrow and see what she thinks. I just looked it up and it looks like provigil does have gluten and nuvigil does not- just and FYI

ARCHIVED Omg! How Sensitive To Gluten Can One Be?
wschmucks replied to joyceelaine's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I prefer Dog poop. Would you put dog poop on your sand which and then set the poop aside and think your food was safe to eat? Or eat off a teflon pan that previously had dog poop in it-- kiss someone who just ate dog poop, share a drink with them? YEP NOOOOO WAYYYYYY -
I am not a crazy pill popper :-) BUT with that said- several times I have gone through several months of severe brain fog and fatigue where i am totally home bound and cannot function as a person. I have been seeing Drs for the past 2 years straight and have really left no stone unturned. During that process i was diagnosed with both Celiac and Hypo and have...

ARCHIVED Flushed Face, Too?
wschmucks replied to CeciliaCeliac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I used to get that when I would have sugary drinks and it was before I was diagnosed. For me it was when I also had bad bacteria in my stomach and I think the sugar would make it react. Maybe try to keep track of when it happens also wouldnt hurt to do a cycle of some anti-bacterials like raw garlic, oil of oregano type of thing. once i got rid of the bad... -
ARCHIVED First Time With Catered Food
wschmucks replied to Googles's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Just tell them that due to a health condition you have a strict diet and your meals should consist of a plain piece of meat baked, and steamed veggies. Tell them that is very important that there are no added ingredients or as you may have an immediate reaction :-) I usually say i'll go into anaphylactic shock, which is a total lie but it gets the job done... -
ARCHIVED I'm A Crying Mess
wschmucks replied to ksymonds84's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I dont have any kids (yet only 25), BUT i do know that whenever I get really sad about a break up or am feeling depressed about where I am in life that it is time to get busy. I know nothing will replace your children living with you but you could maybe focus on other activities like : starting a book club, volunteering once a week, join a new gym etc. I... -
ARCHIVED Should I Allow Myself To Get Glutened For My Trip To France?
wschmucks replied to jasonD2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
People! Come on now, just because youre traveling, or in a different country (I currently live in Paris as a student) does not mean you just start eating Gluten...????? This isnt some fad diet that we pick cause we feel like it. You have the office manager or whoever is setting up the event have the catering company bake a plain peice of chicken and a potato... -
ARCHIVED So Frustrated With Getting Glutened.
wschmucks replied to arkoflove's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hi Megan, So frustrating I know. I have heard that Bobs RedMill DOES have alot of CC issues. To be honest the only releif I got was by going on the SCDiet. I know its super restrictive and hard so maybe not everyone can do it. I had to go back to basics for A LONG TIME before I found a steady baseline. My symptoms were exactly like yours Id gain like... -
Hi there, I just want to say how lucky your fiancee is to have you guide him through this. It can be so stressful and exhausting and you seem so supportive. Everyones spot on with thier advice. So I will add my two cents for the vacation: DO NOT EAT OUT! This part is going to take him a really long time to get used to. The only place I will ever eat...

Hey everyone, Feeling SUPER brain foggy lately. I am staying at my Dad's house-- not a gluten-free house and am using these pans.
