  1. Please post this recipe. I have been looking for a cream of mushroom soup that is gluten free.... Thanks, Wenmin P.S. If anyone has a recipe for french onion soup, I would love to get it to make a Jambalaya....
  2. After being sick for many years, I visited my OBGYN in July 2008. After talking with him, he said what I was describing sounded like celiac disease. I went home and stared researching and self diagnosed myself with celiac. Started following the diet right away. Within a few days, most of my symptoms were gone. My mom was amazed at how good I felt by...
  3. Googles, This is a list of many mainstream products that can be found in many grocery stores at "regular prices". You don't need to shop specialty stores and spend all that extra money. 4. From past experiences, there is nothing wrong with freezing rice. The only thing when rice is defrosted, it becomes mushy. I very seldom freeze anything with rice. The only dish I freeze with rice is an eggplant dressing.
  5. This list may be helpful to you to get started: Wenmin Disclaimer: This information, generated by Fox Valley Celiacs (FVC), is intended for the benefit of its members and other interested parties. 6. Sorry for your loss, Tired. This might brighten your day a bit: Oscar mayer and hormel Bacon are gluten free ( I personally buy Hormel) And I've been using Quaker Instant Grits or any Quaker brand. Haven't had any problems with either one....
  7. Of course you should eliminate all corn products. My suggestion is to do a little research on corn intolerances, read the labels and get rid of those "corn based" items. This is a basic Celiac List that I have used in the past. I don't have any other "poison foods" that I am aware of, so this list works for me. Print yourself a copy and scratch off all...
  8. Hi Elburn, Not really sure where I got this list, but I've kept a copy in my files for future reference. It is one of the best "lists" I've found yet. Hope this helps! 9. Ceyannuzzi, Try Frozen Kinnikinnick Gluten Free White Sandwich Bread. It is the best I found yet. When I am ready for bread, I take it out of the freezer and put it in the refrigerator. It will last up to two weeks in the fridge. When needed, I toast before using (in a safe toaster of course). Sometimes I bake my own using Gluten Free Pantry Favorite...
  10. We use it all the time. Use a wet ingredient first, such as water, egg, hot sauce, etc. to base items you wish to fry, then pass in corn flour seasoned with your favorite spices, and fry as usual. I do this with chicken, pork chops, fish, crab patties, eggplant, shrimp, etc. It works wonderful and tastes good too!
  11. I have been using Lactaid lowfat cottage cheese. I figured if I could drink the milk, then the cottage cheese is a safe bet.....Haven't had any problems...
  12. Just found the gluten-free cake mix, chocolate and white, brownie mix and cookies at my local Rouse's grocery store. Price $3.69. I am wondering if I can use it to make a honey bun cake? Can it be used like a regular cake mix to make just about anything?
  13. I use corn flour to bake anything. Just marinate your meats with Italian Salad Dressing, hot sauce and spices of your choice ( I use Tony Chachere's commonly found in my area) for a few hours prior to cooking. This can be done up to two days in advance. I usually use a ziploc bag and put all meat inside with marinate, flipping bag every time I think about...

  16. My latest binge is taco salad. Make taco meat and freeze in small containers (l pound of meat (turkey, beef, chicken) will divide into 4 servings) Chop lettuce and tomatoes the night before. Place in large covered container. 100 calorie Fritos, Amy's salsa, and 1 teaspoon of Daisy sour cream. Grab a taco meat out of the freezer and nuke it for a few...
  17. Hi! I am from Thibodaux, LA. Found out I was celiac/intolerant in July 2008. Kind of diagnosed by my OBGYN when I went in for my annual visit. Would love to meet up with others from my area who are also celiac. There is a support group in Baton Rouge. email is celiacsbr@aol.com I have not made any of the meetings yet because it is a two hour...
  18. This is my favorite pie. We usually make them at Christmas time, but they are good any time of the year. The crust can be made by crushing gluten free ginger snaps and mix with a small amount of butter until it makes a crust you can form to pan (I used Midel brand). All filling ingredients are already gluten free. Keep pie in a cool dry place, but this...

    ARCHIVED Communion

I go to church every weekend. I do not take the host. I live in a small Catholic community which has a great turnout at church. (2-3 hundred people, four masses every weekend!) I could walk to the alter with my arms crossed over my chest to recieve a blessing without recieving communion, but I choose not to. I really need to meet with my priest and discuss...
