  2. Did not get a cabana boy candidate for a prof, but will have take a look around - community college so mostly too young or too old for our needs
  3. Just finished rolling up a large pan of enchiladas as I am off to class A lot has changed since I was last a student: e-textbook downloaded to laptop, kindle and cell -- my book bag is very light rate my professor was fun to look at -- bunch of kids complaining about having to take notes in class -- this dinosaur takes great notes and should be...
  4. The lab at UCSD along with conversations with Mayo could not figure out how to run DAO levels -- crazy and sad, but true. I had tried every antihistamine available while trying (in vain) to diagnose my extreme intolerance to heat and exercise with my allergist -- only one that ever worked for me is Benedryl -- problem was it makes me so tired I cannot...
  5. Yep...son has had since he was about 8....currently 19. Has improved since gluten removal at 15...but sadly not completely gone.
  6. You are more than welcome -- let me know if you can't find info...I have found some interesting papers and websites over the past few months related to Histamine.
  7. Cinnamon - Sugar --- Oh My.... Men will be very happy with Mom -- Thanks Colleen!!!!
  8. Hang in there -- it does get better. For now, you are correct -- if it hurts MIL's feelings too bad, she will learn or she will not, but your health must come first - especially with Baby on Board. As for the shower -- I've had similar events -- I tell the host - family or not that I'll provide the cupcakes, brownies or cake myself for all to share...
  9. Seen it...haven't been there -- the Bacon Bloody caught our eye as well -- once I get bacon tomato and vodka back we'll go give it a shot
  10. What was her reaction to avocado? I ask because it was a one-off food that made me bloat like crazy during my elimination diet. Nearly a year later I realized my intolerance of histamine containing and histamine inducing foods. Might want to take a look at this: Open Original Shared Link
  11. I dip them in a bowl of hot water - then put on paper towel - add stuffing - then roll - we have taken them in back pack for picnic lunch - never frozen them, but have made them the night before and kept in frig.
  12. Dinner for lunch today as we have a concert to attend this evening Meatloaf Mashed Potatoes Peas Ground Beef, Onions and Broccoli quick fry for me
  13. We use them like this - boys love them with all sorts of leftovers thrown in - I usually just put meat with my basil or cilantro "pesto". I haven't had rice since March, but rice is the first grain ill be testing in the coming months - I'm getting excited planning already!
  14. I Write the Songs -- Barry Mannilow
  15. I drank vodka for some time during my early gluten-free days - eventually I was unable to. I switched to potato vodka but reacted to that as well. I think it is more about alcohol being tough on a damaged digestive system than the grain involved - as the distillling process removes the gluten proteins - from what I understand. Another possibility is...
  16. Yes, this video was very helpful to me -- Dr. Harmon gave me a DVD of it when diagnosed -- then I found on youtube when I wanted to show others on the forum. Note for anyone reading along -- the video is over an hour long -- Drs K and H are worth listening to...the dietician -- not so much
  17. I'm in San Diego -- Dr. Crowe is my Celiac Doctor -- along with Dr. Harmon at UCLA -- he was the former director at UCSD and was the doc that diagnosed me. Have you seen their youtube from a conference several years ago -- really helped me understand Celiac when first diagnosed.
  18. Steak with Quick Onion Confit Broccoli with Mac & Cheese for the guys -- loving using sharp cheddar cheese spread for quick mac and cheese -- they are loving it more Walked 6 miles in the rain this morning with my dog -- she hates rain and water but was a trooper -- mile 4 she said she was done -- a little pep talk and she sprung back to it...
  19. I would contact the local celiac support group - there is one specifically for kids R.O.C.K. (I think) to obtain a good celiac savvy pediatric GI.

  21. ya...may be that simple...brain frogs still jump thru my silly brain on occasion
  22. Unfortunately - I have experience. Surprised only that we are discussing a young child -- my thinking is that if caught early the digestive system can recover with only removing gluten. ?s Do you use processed/prepackaged gluten-free foods regularly? If so -- cut those first. Keep with whole foods, rice and corn is fine -- unless a problem...
  23. missed your original post... Welcome...have a glazed old fashioned donut for me if the mood strikes
  24. Welcome Slee! IMO....get him tested. Now. Distract. Bribe. Do whatever necessary to get it done....blood tests are worth the effort. Ok...a few other points -- I read through your post quickly. 1) Is he still eating gluten regularly? If not, the tests are not accurate. 2) Make sure you get EVERYTHING you need drawn at the same time...
  25. Had to update and thank my hubby -- I didn't feel like preparing anything for me...so he heated coconut oil....added baby brussel sprouts....then skinny broccoli -- always forget the name of the thin baby stuff -- then added diced salmon jerky!!!! finished off with a few green onions and dumped on top of zu-noodles and mixed One happy foodie here...
