  1. Last night's Balsamic Chicken rocked the crock....also did something I found brilliant...I married Addie's Brazilian Cheese Bread with Jamie's new donut pan - really worked well..instead of puffs it made firmer cheesy bread rings...hubs hasn't made fun of the donut pans crowding the cupboard...between chocolate carmel donuts and cheesy rings...I think they...
  2. Yep, what Irish said. Hang in there
  3. Nothing wrong with the size of that kitchen -- loads of cabinets and less floor to mop Another scorcher today so we continue with the week of KFG cooking...next up is the Balsamic Chicken recipe I posted yesterday -- don't think I'll be doctoring this one much except I'm using a whole cut up chicken -- hubs is a breast man
  4. Welcome! I like to pack a bit of real food - simply. When time is available - bake chicken thighs with salt, pepper and garlic. Once cooled, throw two at a time in a sandwich sized ziploc, Freeze. On the way out the door...throw one of those frozen packs in a insulated lunch bag or simply wrap in a paper towel. If a Micro is available when...
  5. Thanks : ) Edited: Those are great...love the first one and will try it next week when we are on the flip side of KFG week
  6. yum....Bisquick Pot Pie...is it on the box?
  7. The heat got bad today...so most of the day was spent "cleaning" the pool ; ) I am going to go for gold with the new gold flour -- our favorite cookie (pre-celiac), other than chocolate chip was crisp sugar cookies - a recipe passed from person to person -- often quickly at time -- never understood their name, but called "My Cup Sugar Cookies". Can...
  8. Yo Addie! The new AP Flour just arrived in my monthly subscribe and save shipment Hmmmm....what shall I try it in first - cookies, yes I believe cookies will be a very good experiment and I do have a few items I'd like knocked off the Honey Do List
  9. Used to get it for the kids...they like Sam Mills Mac and Cheese better now if you can find -- added bonus -- it is cheeper. Oh and Velveeta is making a white block of cheese type food substance that is awesome tossed with any pasta shape.
  10. Karen's Favorite Gadget is getting a workout in my kitchen this week -- the Devil Winds started at 6am -- another hot one and isn't supposed to let up until this weekend -- Tonight = I'll start with this: http://holisticallyengineered.com/2012/09/whole30-day-30-and-italian-beef.html Tomorrow = I'll start with this: http://www.howtoinstructions.us...
  11. Hip Hooray for Laura walking....your dinner sounds yummy and comforting. The experiment in the crock today was really good -- problem is re-tracing my steps -- will try tomorrow morning because by the time I served I may have had a bit of wine and don't feel like documenting right now -- although glad the men liked it Ended up with kinda a sweet...
  12. I'm not familiar with the tests Irish suggested, but if it were me -- I'd call or look this information up on their website.
  13. and a wonderful way to start -- my favorite steak dinner here has changed directions - slightly - that crock recipe I found smells an awful lot like sweet and sour without the sweet -- so I'm going to thicken the sauce and and some sugar, pineapple chunks and veggie to be served over rice.. the younger men have been circling the crock to find out what...
  14. Absolutely love to read as this research moves forward....we were talking about many of these research projects when I was first diagnosed five years ago -- fun stuff
  15. With all the excitement this weekend I totally forgot to thank you!!!! I used the same recipe....doubled for hungry teens...only variance was buttermilk instead of milk. I made the butterscotch icing in the link ked recipe as well...but instead of letting it cool/thicken I completely dipped the donuts and let them set up on waxed paper.... Oh my...
  16. Thanks Irish! Seen some of her recipes and will take a peek again -- the link went to crock pot key lime pie -- yum! I had already gone "loosely" with this recipe: http://www.smallfootprintfamily.com/chinese-5-spice-crock-pot-pork-spare-ribs used a lean pork roast -- ribs or roast with a bit more fat would probably taste better -- we shall...
  17. I agree with Irish. In your situation, the gene test is an important piece of the puzzle. Not only for you, but for your children as well. Good Luck : )
  18. You can't make this crap up...too funny: I googled "Crock Roast New Flavor" https://www.google.com/search?q=crock+roast+new+flavor&oq=crock+roast+new+flavor&aqs=chrome..69i57.7930j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=0&ie=UTF-8 Top of the list was that Balsamic Pork Roast from Skinnyperson. Kept checking down the results line and...
  19. Really good one! Thanks Colleen
  20. Could use a few good jokes this week...hell, any week. Anyone? http://thankheavensglutenfree.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/screen-shot-2013-12-10-at-7-16-13-pm.png
  21. Glad to hear our Irish is on the mend.....that accidental glutening crap is a pain in the neck Too soon Up way too early here...at least I slept better...past several nights this stupid cough keeps me up at night but feel ok during the day...just sound froggy rather than feel froggy Crock pot chili sounds like a stellar idea...another scorched...
  22. Trade you...I've got 90s headed this way -- fantastic for the beach-goers -- sucks for me. Dinner tonight is Grilled Salmon with Basil Aeoli, Rice and Zucchini (not noodled)
  23. Ah, I have no alternative suggestions. Hope someone else can help.
  24. Hi Ruth! Given your history with gluten trial, I would think any of your doctors would order the genetic test. That way insurance covers it as well.
  25. When first dx'd I bought a $6 toaster at Target for my office to keep my stuff separate/safe...that silly toaster is still going....I left it behind as a backup for the other office toaster...seems mine is still going long after our fancier toaster kicked the appliance bucket....fun to get the toaster updates from the old crew and.....even if it had only...
