  1. This would be awesome! guess chemicals wouldn't freeze solid like good old H2O,
  2. Welcome Mommy! I too lost one of my very best buds just two short years ago. Here is what I know from the bottom of my heart -- she is gone but lives on thru me and those she loved each and every day. When times are the most dark...I think... WWKD....I think that and then double check it is legal and a good idea....my buddy was loads of fun, but not...
  3. Worked on the pool deck...re-sunk screws...replaced nasty "temporary" (five years ago) balustrades and started re-staining. Hubs made another stellar SeaBass and Vegie dinner for me. Loved this so thought I'd share: http://www.realfarmacy.com/45-uses-for-lemons-that-will-blow-your-socks-off/
  4. Yep....I know it is not gluten...these are on our safe candy list for our kids and grands....just one of those things for now.
  5. Hey....this happened to me too! I use fresh mint herbs, mint extract, etc. just fine...but oh my goodness....will be a long time before I have processed mint candy. Guess I should add...this reaction was quite a while ago -- not sure what the current formulation is.
  6. I'm with you...if I get it back....oh boy...I've got plans!!!! along the lines of our funky little quirks....my entire life pre-dx I could eat lobster and crab...but my skin had severe itchy reaction -- as in I could not deal with getting lobster from the shell or crack crabs -- thankfully my fisherman took pity on me since I was 18 and was willing to...
  7. And I am fine with oysters, clams and shrimp (in moderation) -- but severe allergic type reaction to lobster and crab
  8. I hope so too...and I thought I was restricted!!!! Heal up soon
  9. I know...I'm a broken record....but mushrooms, oysters, avocado and sunshine all contain high levels of HISTAMINE or induce histamine production in the body -- Those of us with damaged small intestines can't properly regulate excess histamine because the enzymes that take care of this for us are produced in the mucosal lining of the small intestine. ...
  10. ps...carrots?? I can eat lightly steamed vegies, but cannot do raw.
  11. You can't eat any fruits or vegies? I can't eat citrus, pineapple, banana, mango or many berries -- but i do okay with apples, pears and peaches. I can't eat nightshades, spinach or pumpkin -- but can eat sweet potato, yams, all squash except pumpkin, brocolli, asparagus, cauliflower, etc. Keep trying
  12. We use Bisquick for Waffles -- Hubs makes them -- I usually do not partake, but yesterday I ate one and it was delicious
  13. I'm off to buy a few more chair rafts...amazing how much fun we can have with a simple little pool -- one bonus is it was perfect temp within a day -- whereas my friends with beautiful built in pools are waiting for the water to warm up -- if i ever do get the beautiful pool...me thinks I'll go shallow and solar -- although I love to dive and always wanted...
  14. The Wheels on the Bus -- Sesame Street?
  15. I recently found the pepperment marshmellows in a clearance bin -- the men and their friends were quite happy with the chocolate mint treats...I added a touch of mint extract -- am told they tasted like thin mint cookies -- darn it -- i hate it when that happens
  16. We only use "rice crispy" type cereal for rice crispy treats....I use Cocoa Pebbles or Environkidz Koala Krunch -- tried the newer gluten-free Rice Crispies and the kids said they didn't taste the same in RC Treats -- not very scientific -- perhaps they are simply used to the chocolate versions I've been making the past four years.
  17. I love this!!!! Thank you for sharing
  18. Welcome klisja! I removed everything except meat, fish and select fruits and vegies over four years post celiac diagnosis. See my signature for the complete list. This past November I finally made the connection to Histamine Intolerance (HIT) due to the damage in my small intestine (the enzymes that regulate histamine in the body are created in the...
  19. Ouch...I've done that many times...ouch...ouch...ouch! Dinner tonight will be tri-tip with cauli-fried rice -- early so we can all go to the fancy movie theater on the son IH come float with me....sis finally did yesterday -- the salt water system seems to be working...sure smells a heck of a lot better than the old chemical experiment pool.
