  1. Movie Date!!! We all go at the same time wherever we are....hmmm across the pond could make this complex...but would be cheaper for me as I would get the before noon discount!!! Ok...maybe we shoot for the same day -- what's the next "girlie" movie coming out? I'll check....or we could do a book club --- maybe start with some oldies, but goodies and...
  2. 10% sounds very high...haven't researched it in over a year, but seem to remember the number being less than 5%. If it makes you feel any better...we were convinced I had Refractory as my annual biopsies were worse at 1 and 2 years, but thankfully at year three my biopsies were slightly improved -- still Marsh 3 but at least they were As and Bs. I'm...
  3. Good Luck! Let us know if you have questions...pretty sure you have already seen the "Newbie 101" thread...but if not check it out
  4. It is certainly possible. Now that your endoscopy is complete...you can remove all gluten. Often the dietary response is the most important factor for Celiac Disease or Non Celiac Gluten Intolerance.
  5. Are you eating simple whole foods? Processed foods -- gluten-free or not can often be tough on the healing digestive system. Dairy can also be tough until healing happens. A food/symptom log can be very helpful in sorting out possible problem foods you are having during transition -- if a food (other than gluten) is bothering you...remove it for...
  6. My family -- five with celiac disease eat Betty Crocker brownies often and have never had a problem...I however can not eat them due to other intolerances...perhaps you have other yet to be discovered problem foods?
  7. Welcome DJS! Nice to see a new face in this thread this morning -- come back often -- we mix chit-chat with what we are having for dinner. Tonight the youngest is having an all nighter -- can't call them sleepovers when they are seniors in HS Lots and lots of ribs, mac and cheese, broccoli and some sort of cake!
  8. Many of the foods I have lost temporarily (including apples and pears for a short time) were because my digestive system simply could not tolerate much. I safely eat apples and pears from all sources now, but I do wash my fruit. I mistakenly thought I had a Fructose issue -- nope -- simply a destroyed gut issue
  9. No need to stuff yourself with gluten....glad you got them done. Most blood tests take less than 72 hours....yet results can take a week or so to hit your file. Make sure you request written or electronic copies from your primary. Hang in there
  10. Yay!!! Pizza and movie date...sounds like a purr-fect Friday Addie...feel better...glad you are less queezy!!! We had surprise visit from my daughter and the grands....and the parents let us keep the kids all day...they haven't had a date day in over a year....we have had a blast....my men are wonderful uncles and now all are at the park while I...
  11. Darn it....that one got me...it is really quite unique when you lose someone you have never met in person....I hear her stronger in my head than some of those very close to me that I have lost -- probably comes from years of knowing Shroomie would hop on and agree or set me straight...man... ok...enough of that...hey I hopped on here because I thought...
  12. Hmmm...bloody for bedtime instead of brunch might work...I'll pin a note to my shirt -- should I blow up like a balloon or stop breathing...please stab with epi pen and shove in a taxi to UoC
  13. There is a restaurant in Chicago that served Bloodies...with Bacon and Bacon flavored vodka -- hmmm I wonder if I can manage to get tomato back by September
  14. These sound delicious and beautiful too -- going to serve before Sunday dinner this weekend...thanks
  15. This is the protocol that has helped our family -- we also have additional intolerances that were causing gluten like symptoms until we sorted them out. We also use peppermint or ginger teas. Some find relief with peppermint or slippery elm supplements. I haven't used tums in many years, but last time I checked there were only select bottles that...
  16. It took me a year for my D to climb from 18 to 30...so 10 points in three months sounds about the same or better...three months is still early days...I would think all numbers will have improved....but may not all be in normal range just yet....took about two and half years for my vitamins and minerals to all improve significantly....celiac antibodies were...
  17. Ya....that is not my understanding of the items currently in various stages of testing...also find it strange that someone diagnosed nine years ago has yet to find good tasting gluten free food.
  18. Certainly interesting...glad to hear these trials are finally progressing...they were on hold for a bit there. I do know that after the damage that gluten has caused me along with my children I don't think we will ever join "the gluten loving americans" mentioned in the article. That said.... I would love something that could be taken to avoid cc issues...
  19. Waaahooo right back -- what a fantastic day for you Mindwarp -- where about did your walk take you -- what did you see -- was the sun out there??? Confirmed 7500 pounds -- jeez Irish -- thought you were a bit tired from all the hauling! and you walked and rode too -- these lungs of mine better be happy tomorrow so I can catch you two. The...

  23. Zippity Doo Daa! I aced my Bio final even though I was falling asleep at my desk due to Benedryl to counteract the allergic-type reactions I've had this past week!!! and I am such a PITA that the professor emailed me to tell me as he knew I'd be tracking him down to find out Teaching the son to make chili got post-poned so we are about to do it...
  24. This is a very good result. A doctor that listens to her patient is worth her weight in gold (IMO)...my primary is similar...she admits when she is not familiar with something and either finds a way to order the tests I have on my list or she gets me to the specialty that can. While you are waiting for your blood, I suggest researching which GIs in...
  25. You got this...try to enjoy the nap
