  1. Start with the Original TV Series on Net Flix...I still love those the bestest. You are actually in the majority...I'm a proud nerd -- was a closet nerd in HS...then i had a little boy that is born to tell stories and took him to his first comic con 12 years ago...seems that it is now "in" to be a nerd.
  2. I giggled...no crawling back in a hole just checked the showings at the fancy theater -- they aren't showing it on friday...but there is a sneak showing tomorrow night for the bargain price of $18.75 -- NOT!!! Guess it'll be the regular theater without the working son --- boy do I love the sound of that "working son"
  3. I swear you didn't catch it from me but this does confirm the whole histamine dealio going on in your body -- edited to add: Doh!! forgot the IMHO.
  4. New Girl in Town -- The Ramones
  5. It is being released on my birthday -- hip hip hooray...I can't wait....I'll be too tired to catch the midnight show...but we are going full pop on Friday night -- we never go to the movies in the evening anymore...hope i can get tixs...oh one of my kids just got a job at the fancy new theater in La Jolla...and he'll be working there so that means we only...
  6. oops...didn't understand... The things I listed are in my backpack each day. Emergency items in the car are as follows: Almonds. Individual Almond Butter Dried Fruit Squeezable Baby Food Gu Water
  7. Great thread!!! Almonds Almond Butter Chocolate/Honey Almond Butter Baby Food Squeeze packs Apples Pears Carrots...I don't like raw...so I keep slightly blanched in the frig at all times Gu packs String Cheese (just got a bit of cheese back -- but these are the go to emergency food for the other sillyaks in this house) Chicken...I don't mean...
  8. Mindwarp!!!!! That is fantastic news -- I am jumping up and down....without my little cheerleader for now...but great, great news!!!!!
  9. It is possible to stay safe for everyone -- no matter sensitivity...it simply takes planning. I am intolerant of a multitude of foods and have a severe problem regulating histamine so my body can't cool itself. Yet....yesterday I spent the day at the zoo with Biology class -- in 90 degree heat -- impossible? No...I carried a small hydrosize backpack...
  10. We didn't use our breadmaker....well much....until we went gluten-free.....we had some luck with from scratch recipes...but really Pamela's mix works great and you can add things to make it special....it is fantastic fresh, but does not keep well -- we have reverted back to many loaves of glutino, udi and canyon bakehouse per week, but this post makes me...
  11. us too...usually we are "May Gray" about now but have been hanging around 90 at the beach -- supposed to cool off tomorrow or Wed....hope this breeze keeps blowing your way

    ARCHIVED Wildfire

lol...I clicked on the post without seeing it was about a restaurant...you see we are a little twitchy here in Southern California when we see the word Wildfire....should be interesting if this chain heads out here
  13. Klutsie does not equal stoopid -- that is some fuzzy math you are doing up there....hope it is all cooled and not bubbly -- I've done that one far too many times so I am forbidden from putting anything with a handle in the oven! Dinner tonight is Corned Beef -- simply because it is hot as hell here so I needed something quick to throw in the crockpot...
  14. OMG is right....that sounds incredible -- and somehow manages to double the calories of a regular pizza -- hmmm...maybe I'll make one for Mom whom needs to add a few lbs.
  15. I thought the same thing...sounds soooo good...unfortunately I'm a bit on the bloated side today for the two pieces of thick bacon I ate yesterday -- so yep, bacon still a no-no...but my heirloom tomatoes are growing so that will be the next trial -- whenever they are ready. On the bright side...my hubby gave me no grief for not packing tomato and lettuce...
  16. Here is an idea for safe travel food -- my family calls it my "astronaut" packs -- really it is the new, well new to me since I saw my grandkids having them for treat -- squeezable baby food...I like the Happy Tot Organic ones -- I can't eat them all because of my many intolerances...but in my backpack are always a few - pears or the sweet potato/carrot/apple...
  17. Welcome Michael!!! You are off to a great start - with time it gets easier to pack some of your own food even on the go -- if you have In and Out near you --- that is our family's go to fast food. The only gluten in the place is the buns and they have a very good "gluten" policy. We still say we have a wheat/gluten allergy - celiac is not an allergy...
  18. Haven't watched yet...was camping last night to watch another type of race -- the Tour of California - Stage 1 -- Hubby pre-rode the entire course yesterday 102 miles with 9,000 feet of climbing...CRAZY...here is the great spot we hung out at today...was very relaxing...HOT (95ish) but I had plenty of shade and ice -- even got quite a bit of studying done...
  19. they are little silver fish that come up on the beach to lay their eggs...sad to say we didn't see one and we checked from the tip of La Jolla to the Jetty in South Mission Beach -- (pacific beach in san diego) -- no little silver fish..hoping they choose tonight...but sadly I'll be camping in the local mountains so that I can spend tomorrow watching pro...
  20. Grunion Run!!!!!! ya...havent done it in 30 years but bio extra credit calls.....should be fun????
  21. I resemble that...too many times...trying to stay up late to get a picture of the grunion running...should be comical as Grandma used to say....i've got three hours left...before i wake someone sober to drive me to take a picture of a fish........hey I want an A!!!!
  22. Great Plan...stick with it...sometimes it takes a bit of time for healing...but it does happen
  23. Welcome to you both...Labeled Gluten Free is generally safe. If you have a concern google an item...plus gluten-free....I did this transition a few years back so there were not as many labeled items...but the rule is still pretty simple...like this: "Kraft Ranch Dressing Gluten" in your search engine....read other's posts and if doubt remains....contact...
  24. Your 40s are going to be great...I am certain : )
  25. Hey Marcus... My symptoms were the same in childhood...unexplained weight GAIN, bloating, discomfort after each meal, sore joints, heat intolerance.....but evolved over the years -- had one 6 year 'remission' during my teen years when I lived off of salad and diet coke -- which i do not recommend for any young woman -- but strangely I was at my healthiest...
