  1. I make a version very close to that and it is great....it is not like a fresh bread dough...but certainly tastes great to me as it is the only pizza I can currently eat.
  2. AWESOME news....hopefully it won't be long before we'll have that beloved can of biscuits popping open -- I know they are bad for us...but some days you just want an easy biscuit and I do miss popping those cans open on occasion -- I think I had more fun with popping those than popping champagne -- of course I was never much for the bubbly...but an easy bacon...
  3. here is the last two years...the forum wouldn't let me post enough smiles to represent all four years of healing in one post! <_< <_< <_< <_< :)
  4. Us too....I was so happy at diagnosis when we finally had a name for what was going on with me and that all I had to do was remove gluten to become healthy!!!! Just realized the smilys on this forum are perfect for describing the emotional roller coaster of the celiac that takes longer to heal:  :o
  5. I often joke that I was being taught patience -- it's not funny at all, but it was either laugh or cry -- now my parents ask how did I become so patient -- I tell them I didn't have a choice. Keep smiling...makes folks wonder what you have been up to
  6. teaching son to make chili in the crockpot this weekend...this is the older one -- the younger one is an awesome cook -- but the older one is itching to get his own place so the cooking lessons have begun -- thinking crock pot lasagna will be next week's lesson -- and we are all grumpy yet nice -- I think it is a silly yak thing
  7. Oh my Goodness -- this was my exact appointment about 8 years ago with UCSD's Chief of Rheumy and the reason I never went back or to any doctor for a couple years.. We did have a very good appointment at the UCSF's Lupus clinic with my daughter -- but she has been diagnosed for 17 years before she got in there. Hang tough Nicole -- you will keep improving...
  8. crock pot...lasagna...how do you do that?
  9. that was hilarious.....thanks for the giggle
  10. Oh boy...this was me....we lost more than one carton of ice cream because I put the IC in the frig and the milk in the freeze -- thankfully the milk always defrosted edited to add...don't post before you actually start the coffee maker...did I put three or four scoops in -- how much water do I need?
  11. Ummm.....the difficulty you are facing is well know by many of us...HMO, PPO, VA, NHS, hmmm can't remember if Canada has abbreviations....the key is to understand the issues you want tested -- which it sounds like you do. Hang in there ...keep pushing ...you will find answers ...and I am sorry it is frustrating -- I completely understand the...
  12. Welcome Sassbo If you haven't already -- take a stroll through the "Newbie 101" thread -- it contains tons of helpful tips.
  13. Yes...I had a small version of white coat -- my mom has full blown where her bp skyrockets -- mine was more mild and came from decades of dismissive doctors that never ran the correct tests. Celiac can be a factor in all AIs -- I remain hopeful that all of your symptoms will continue to improve with time -- but am hopeful that the Rhuemy clinic will be...
  14. Were there ranges listed for each test or the words "positive" or "negative" after either the Tissue Transglutaminase or the Gliadin Antibody?
  15. Wow...totally missed the positive blood work. Positive is positive. Paul is right -- get written or electronic copies of all your tests!
  16. yep on purpose...was a long distance runner in high school...mostly to run away from home each day, but turned out i liked it...silly joint and muscle issues sidelined me in my early 20s -- i wonder what from gotta make those tink noodles this weekend --- chinese again will be great
  17. Hello! Do you have a written copy of the pathology report as well as the doctor's procedural report? From what you wrote -- they only took one biopsy of the small intestine -- that is not enough and the damage listed can be attributed to early celiac disease...in fact the first two stages of the Marsh Scale for Celiac Disease are considered NON-CELIAC...
  18. Welcome!!!! Keep eating gluten until the testing is complete -- if you remove gluten, the tests for antibodies created in reaction to gluten become less accurate. No need to overdo it...a slice of toast per night is enough....but do get in to the doctor and get the full antibody panel Nicole listed - take the list with you -- explain that you want the...
  19. yep...be careful with the med one -- all of us...me, son and daughter have been burned by that one more than once when pharmacy switches generics -- thankfully I am off all meds (except for benedryl, inhalers and epi pen as needed), son down to one -- unfortuanately daughter still has a basket full and is quite ill so tough to check every flipping time they...
  20. My toenails are still cobalt blue -- I started wearing them in support of the local newscaster's 'blue on you' campaign and have now added more glitter and little stars -- they make me happy -- healing color or not -- i'm keeping them -- off to buy another bottle of revlon's glitter with little stars and moons in them French Onion Soup was great -- especially...
  21. Good POINT!!!! When I first got them I put them in two separate places -- the reason they prescibe two is in case you need both to get to help...turns out the first time we needed to use them I needed both -- thankfully we were at home and I wasn't out on my bike somewhere. I now carry two everywhere -- at first it was a PITA to carry in my pocket...
  22. Ugh!!! That response is sooooo frustrating and silly really -- why not run the tests to be sure before gluten is removed before one loses the ability for tests to be accurate? I would ask why she is not running these simple tests -- I'd push. And no...most do not completely heal or lose all symptoms within the first two weeks gluten-free -- some...
  23. Here I am! yesterday was a tough one so I was in bed before dinner --- delaying the onion soup once again -- hubby made chicken and baby brussels for me tonight is finally french onion soup a la peter -- steaks on the side
