  2. I've got 13 .... started and stopped at least a few times per year over that time period...have made a dent these past few months -- for that I am extremely grateful -- flippin' frogs
  3. So......no frogs in attendance last night....but there was a bit of wine that led to my left index finger being sliced open but good while slicing a fresh loaf of bread...was fairly good sized chunk of skin so of course in the - oh s$#& mode - i flipped the knife off the cutting board and sliced a smaller piece of skin off my toe -- doh!!
  4. Let It Be -- George Harrison
  5. winner...yep did this one too...laughing OUT LOUD ....giggle, giggle, shoes ps...so when we were in the snow for the weekends we regularly had extra kids...i'd go thru all of their names plus my cat and dog -- ya we dragged them along...then went thru socks, shoes, boots, ski boots, etc....by they time i'd spit out what i meant they were long gone with...

    ARCHIVED Legumes

Pesticides are in the soil and therefore in the plant...how does soap on the surface remove pesticides that reside within the plant work?

    ARCHIVED Legumes

I'm a bit confused here....if you are rinsing legumes properly -- and are still having a "gluten-like" reaction -- my bet is you have an issue with digesting that particular legume.....I can't eat any - but that is me.
  9. Welcome! I agree with Nicole. Some have found it a bit easier to eat gluten late in the day/early evening during challenge -- and no need to overdo it -- a slice or two of gluten containing bread per day is plenty according to many of the top celiac centers. Hang in there and let us know if you have more questions Edited to add nutrient/misc...
  10. The "I told you so dance" is nice -- validation is huge and sadly many of us had to fight far too much to obtain it. This above all else is why I hang around celiac.com -- when I stumbled in four years ago -- others that were already dancing helped me. Welcome Jo! I hadn't seen your other questions...but keep reading and keep asking questions. Good...
  11. Fools In Love -- Joe Jackson
  12. This is awesome -- I too cannot eat tomatoes -- trialing heirloom tomato was suggested to me and I did do a bit better than with regular tomato -- left them on my no-no list for awhile -- now growing three different heirloom plants -- I am excited just thinking about trialing them when they are ready -- now I will start by removing the seeds, etc....Thanks...

  17. Man my house smelled great tonight...First a triple chocolate cake, then a rich vanilla cake and just pulled a sinful strawberry out -- no ice cream tomorrow as we will be partying at the bay/beach bon fire -me thinks no one will miss it with three cake choices -- sure wish you all could cruise by
  18. Hi Dylan! I wouldn't worry about weight loss just yet -- if you were not absorbing nutrients it can take a while for your system to re-set even with drastic diet change. Keep eating well and get as much exercise as possible and those pesky extra pounds should start dropping off.
  19. Piazza sounds great - men off to a very special Padre game with a dear friend of ours and 30 others to surprise this friend with pancreatic cancer - its pancrratic cancer night at the park - the whole group gets to meet and great after the game - a very special night for all the dads and their sons. For me a girlie night ahead - cousin and her daughter...
  20. New to this party....SysterLyn. Here is what I know. If Benedryl works -- you have a Histamine issue.....took me an excruciating amount of research to find the following: Open Original Shared Link Histamine Intolerance is a non-issue with U.S. doctors...I say this because I have the chief allergist of UCSD === who had no idea what i was speaking...
  21. Welcome Night Owl! You have been reading some bad press on gluten-free my friend. Here is what I know == and has been tested with the 6 gluten-free members of my family. Fresh meat never contains gluten -- there are a few brands of pork that add some minor preservatives --- none of which contain gluten. So...when in doubt....buy fresh....this...
  22. Welcome Katie! You have had excellent advice...I have two college age young men...they have been gluten-free for awhile and it gets easier....hang out, read as much as you can and ask questions...it helps a difficult transition speed along. Hang in there
  23. A Song For The World -- Up With People
  24. Violet Hill -- Coldplay "From the rooftops I remember There was snow" edited...because == there was snow.
  25. I like the idea of giving strict gluten/dairy free a good three months and then re-evaluate. Making too many changes within a short time leads to confusion - IMHO. So glad to hear of your improvement thus far....oh I don't see anything of concern with the tests you listed...especially with your body adjusting to your new food choices. Hang in there...
