  1. Nice...Debbie responded within minutes...she is going to add an "our family" version
  2. Silicone washes great...and I may catch it for saying this...but I boiled my wooden stuff -- I've had it for years and had grown quite fond of it. Never had any problems -- but I cleaned and kept much more than some folks.
  3. Very cool...thanks Paul...I emailed her and asked if she could add one more: "Our Familiy is Gluten Free" "because we have to be" she asked for suggestions for other banners...I'll use either that or the one you show the entire month of May
  4. We evolved into a completely gluten-free kitchen -- during the transition we had separate cookware and utensils for things that touched gluten -- some have separate cookware and utensils for the gluten-free items -- either way is good. Again, for me -- plates and utensils become clean with washing and I never worried about them. I found the advice offered...
  5. Did someone say Burgers for Dinner??? Bob visiting my High School during my Senior year....I have no idea how he got up there
  6. ok...done laughing and this is quite close to how i feel lately -- the men are calling me the bag lady --- because i'm constantly dragging gear in and out of the house -- none of it containing the all important item in this house --- FOOD Mondays are very long == so I am sitting in my comfy chair whilst hubby makes noise in the kitchen -- dinner will...
  7. Just an aside...breath testing is not very accurate in diagnosing SIBO and often it take many courses of antibiotic to remedy SIBO -- of course this could be because some are being treated with antibiotics for SIBO based on symptoms rather than a positive breath test.
  8. Hello Again Q! The SCD and Paleo or Primal are often of great benefit to those of us with Celiac Disease, but I do agree to give the strict removal of gluten a good go of it before removing other foods -- by removing only gluten or gluten and dairy -- for say 3-6 months you may find that is enough -- after those first months if you are not improving ...
  9. Welcome - that your DGP continued to increase indicates there is still gluten being consumed - unfortunately gluten free items served in most restaurants only mean there is not gluten in the ingredients used - gluten is still in the kitchens and unless they have a strict gluten free preparation policy - there is gluten in their food. Additionally - if you...
  10. Welcome! Not only do I no longer get recurring ear infections - my hearing in my once nearly deaf problematic ear has improved since about a year or so gluten-free. It tested recently at only 20% loss - at celiac dx it was 75-80% loss of hearing. I did have one nasty ear infection a few months ago but it resolved without antibiotic - in my 30s I...
  11. Welcome Jamie!!! You are not stupid, a wuss or being lazy -- you are actively eating good food to heal your damaged digestive system. I too had some improvement during my first months gluten-free -- unfortunately I had to remove much more than gluten to encourage healing in my body. Are you keeping a food/symptom journal -- it is the first and...
  12. Hi Shadow! How are you - never heard after your fall. Mac and Cheese works - seems to be a theme this week
  13. "C" is for cookie that's good enough for me "Cookie Monster" is also my favorite sesame street character -- well aside from "Oscar"
  14. For some strange reason -- I want a cookie!!!! Gee thanks L2T Crock Pots are won-der-ful -- have no idea how we would have made it thru little league years without that thing -- and then Karen suggested getting the small one for traveling -- brilliant
  15. Girls -- Beastie Boys
  16. Bad Moon Rising -- CCR
  17. Oysters were the very first meal I've had served by a waiter in over a year - yum! And yep Addie - avo totally stumped me until I figured out this stooopid histamine deal - pm me if you want - hate to hear you are having a tough time. Think maybe ill drag the hubby out for fish this weekend and get me some oysters
  18. What else would one play on the boat? I'm with you with the above ground pool chemistry -- this year we are going the saltwater route - construction was delayed - by me and life - new liner and a small deck expansion should happen this weekend if all the sinful desserts I've been providing over the past week did their job. Its 80 here again - ready...
  19. Homegrown for the past ten years Stay safe Boston! We all know how strong you are. Our family stands with you. For me....Oklahoma, Columbine, 911 combined to make me very fearful for about two years while my children were quite young...fearful of the world we were leaving my babies -- those babies are now 18 and 19 years old -- they have grown...
  20. Yep...been there...heard that until I made it to Celiac specialist -- sad that primaries along with many gastros are still operating off -- three symptoms of celiac disease: childhood, short stature and the big D --- there are 100 times as many symptoms associated -- educate them with printed info from the University of Chicago.
  21. RA, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Sjogren's, Celiac Disease -- suspect Connective Tissue as a bonus. We believe long undx'd celiac played a big part in all. So glad you have docs listening -- work with them - and in some cases teach them -- yep, we can make a difference.
  22. Hands - wonky. I've got that one - for over ten years now.
  23. Thankfully...things are improving -- if only slowly -- my daughter recently made it into a specialized Lupus program at UCSF -- those appts have been very fruitful -- and get this -- they listen to my opinion regarding the possibility of her five AIs having a direct relationship to undx'd celiac disease. Yep...crazy...yet...true.
  24. Oh my goodness...I am so happy for you!!! My experience with Rhuemy sucked because I had not yet been dx'd celiac and all my inflammation blood was "normal" soooo...of course I heard what I had heard many different versions of many times before from different specialties...but this time that I write of was -- the Chief of Rhuematology at UCSD: "I...
