    Sally- I know what you mean...when I cheated a while ago last year it didn't even taste good and a bite into it I threw it away...I still got sick though but it would have been worse had I ate the whole thing.

    Ally- I didn't have them but I know people who have had them(including my dad) and it signals deficiency in calcium or magnesium...it stands reason since celiacs can't absorb properly until going gluten free...

    Monica- Your son is on a gluten free diet? Before a biopsy? That can make his intestines heal and make the biopsy come back inaccurate.

    I only had blood tests done. I did not have a biopsy for my diagnosis because my blood tests were so high. The biopsy on your child may come back negative if he doesn't have any damage there yet. I would put him on a gluten free diet after hearing the results. There are blood tests that are very specific for celiac. Has he also had a gene test done? Also...

    They offer eye liner,mascara, lipsticks, lip liner, foundations, etc...you name it they got it. I know there whole makeup line is gluten free...they are made so they can stay on your face overnight without clogging pores and all...I still wash it off but I have had no need for makeup remover besides a warm washcloth. I am not sure if they offer removers...

    I agree with that...I do have alot of respect for them. Maybe they treat women like that because priests are not married and I guess don't know how women are supposed to be treated. I don't like the way women are treated either.

    Her dad would need to be tested to for genetic testing to in that case..because genes come from both you and him. She should get genetic testing done to see is she has a gene for celiac. I would also get specific blood tests for celiac done...you do not have to go to a GI doctor to get a celiac test. Any doctor can order a test for that. I would look for...

    Some blood tests that are done are not as specific as others. Prometheus labs as mentioned is a reliable lab for celiac testing. He also should get a gene test done. Enterolab might be a good option they test for malabsorption, gluten sensitivity, genes and so forth. He has the symptoms and the damage it sounds to me like he has celiac. Some people...

    That is true...it will not cause harm unless it gets into your digestive tract through your mouth.(unless you also have DH) It's the possibility of getting into your mouth that can be the bad part...other things are more important though...like things you put on your hands, head, and face...

    Your story sounds similar to mine. I also have graves disease but do not need medication for it because it is in beginning stages. Thyroid diseases are really connected with celiac disease.     celiac3270 I agree to an extent but technically just about everything you put on your body has the chance to get into your mouth just some more then others.

    I like the liquid vitamins especially while intestines are healing because of the way it absorbs in your body. I use Liquid Vitamins Plus by Utrition. It is probably good to take sublingual B12 vitamins too. Other things that help are probiotics and enzymes...with the combo of what I took while I was healing it really gave me a boost.

    If there is damage in the intestines and you have IgA deficiency and other tests high you are celiac. The damage is caused by the gluten. You need to be on a gluten free diet.

    Curious- Fruity and cocoa pebbles are gluten free they are sugary though. Envirokidz has some cereals that say gluten free on the box and they are really good. I would stay completely away from oatmeal because of the contamination. When I have been glutened I eat rice, yogurt, mashed potatoes, jello, and then I drink teas and ensure as well.

    Sometimes if there is no damage or only sporadic damage the doctor can miss it. Celiac can be triggered after surgeries so it is possible that you do have it. IgA defieciency can make an otherwise positive test come back negative. Have you had blood tests done for celiac? It sounds like the best thing to do is be on the gluten-free diet.

    For some places I have gone they have given me little packets of country crock butter. They are gluten free so that would be safe...I would stay away if it's open stick.
