    I had one followup 6 months being gluten free and then another in march of this year(about 15 months after being gluten free) because I just saw an endocrinologist and she wanted an initial testing of all the vitamins and minerals and that good stuff. Both the 6 month and 15 month were normal ranges.

    Banana Boat and Coppertone are the ones I use and they are gluten free

    Tinkyada is the best! My non celiac family could not tell the difference when that is made. I get them at local health food stores. If they do not carry them you can request they get it in and you pick it up when your order comes in.

    I had those done before my diagnosis. At that point I had pretty much low in everything(except B vitamins)...looked like malnutrition. Then I had a followup done after being gluten free and everything was within normal range It's good your doc is running these tests for you.

    There could be another problem in addition to celiac. It takes time to heal so not all symptoms will be gone so soon. I never had vomiting but I had nausea with celiac and it took 3 months to get significantly better. Try keeping a food journal of everything he eats so you know if there is something else that seems to upset him more.

    celiac3270-your right...and the more people we have on there saying this info is wrong the better our info looks. So if someone reads that and we can help just one as you said...it's all worth it

    7 weeks is not enough time to get rid of all the symptoms. It took me 3 months to get alot better and then more like 6 to get back to normal. I think that if you noticed even a little bit of a change then that should be a good sign especially so soon. Whatever you decide though I hope you find out what's going on and get to the bottom of it.

    Oscar Mayer is a brand made by Kraft so all you have to do is check the label for wheat,rye,barley,oats...they will not hide gluten under anything so the lable will clearly list one of those ingredients if it contains any.

    The cone does not touch it...at least I never saw it while I worked there. It gets close but not to the point of touching. I wouldn't be concerned about that.

    If you call them and they use a kind that contains gluten then maybe you should see if they will make it with a kind of vanilla extract that you bring. McCormick is a good brand

    I used to work at TCBY...and yes the shiver machine should be cleaned because they just swirl it in water after they make the shivers.The shiver machine just mixes the toppings into the yogurt. The shivers can contain gluten because of toppings such as oreos. If you get regular yogurt from the yogurt machine then you are fine.

    I hated the pin prick test. I had over 140 needles poked in my arms. That was horrible and it turns out none of the things I was really allergic to.     I have not heard great things about this book and have heard it has some wrong data in it about what is gluten-free and what is not. Last time I called the company I know Zithromax was gluten free(in Nov. or Dec. of 2004) If in doubt always call the company...if they say it is gluten free then it is...if they lie they could get in so much trouble and they...

    DisneyWorld has been known to be good about accomodating people with restricted diets. Contact them and they should be able to tell you more. I was there but that was in 2000 which was pre gluten-free for me...haven't been there since I was diagnosed.

    Maltodextrin in the US has to be specified on the label if it is made from something other then corn(except with meds) so it's safe here unless specified. Not sure what the policy is anywhere other then here. I know alot because I have researched hours and hours of this stuff. I am majoring in dietetics, and writing a book and this stuff is my passion...

    I have heard when you have bright yellow urine that it means you are not drinking enough water. When you drink enough water it should be almost clear. There could be other factors(such as vitamins) but I have heard that plays a key role because alot of people do not drink the required amount of water everyday.     It only will accept certain formats so make sure it is a jpg file or one that they accept. I had trouble with this too with changing my avatar. It should work then.
