  1. Ok..I just got a dog today...kind of unexpected and at the last minute. Is there any such thing as gluten free dog food? And if not then what do you all use to feed your dogs? I checked alot of labels of the canned foods at the store and I got the safest label I could find that did not contain gluten directly(of course could be hidden in the natural flavors...
  2. The sad thing is that some people believe that and think they can be cured
  3. I have heard that blood tests on kids under 24 months of age might not have accurate readings. Also, was she tested for the full celiac panel? And was she on gluten before testing? Good luck
  4. Yep...M&M's are fine...their dextrin is not a concern. As Jessica said..the only ones that are not gluten free are the crispy ones
  5. Being gluten free that long can make blood tests come back negative. When being tested they recommend you being on gluten heavily for 3 months. If you feel you need the official confirmation you need to go back on gluten.
  6. I'm glad I use Aunt Jemima now....there is quite a mix of info about it so I can see where you would be confused. Malt is usually made of barley. Does it have malt flavoring on the label? If so that would be the culprit. From the mix of responses even from the company I would say use something else...you also may want to call them. If you call them you...
  7. Haha exactly what I say..the shorter we are the more guys we have that are taller then us What can be bad about that I've heard 5'4" is the average for women. I think I am still growing though...so 5'3" for now. I don't mind being short though..
  8. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 Here is a link to safe and forbidden ingredients for celiacs. Alot of sites have information but alot of them are old and outdated so that may be one of many reasons for conflicting info. If you go to the product section here there is section about the Delphi product list. This is a must get!...
  9. I would be glad to help...I know it will be alot to do...PM me or something and let me know if you need help and if so what you need help with.
  10. yeah that would be a great idea..that would be a big help to them. What if we put another thread that said Information for Newbies or something like that. I think you have a wonderful idea there celiac3270
  11. Make sure things you put on her hands are gluten free because if she sucks her thumb it will clearly get into her mouth. If its on her bottom I wouldn't worry about it..thats not going to be getting into her mouth. Another thing I use when I am out is Purell instant hand sanitizer. It is gluten free and good to use when your out and about..don't know...
  12. I think thats a wonderful idea. I don't mind answering questions over and over but I think that would help alot of the newbies to have the info right there.
  13. I love Kinnikinnick and Foods by George products...I know they are gluten free but I am not sure about anything else they are free of. www.foodsbygeorge.com www.kinnikinnick.com
  14. Sure is...it's made by Post which is a division of Kraft. They will clearly list wheat, rye, barley, oats right on the label or they will be gluten free. Both Cocoa and Fruity Pebbles are gluten free. Enjoy
  15. Some lists are just different then others and cover things that others may not. Thanks for sharing what your doctor said about Pepto Bismol...it's nice to know that for future references
  16. Definitely a no for celiacs. Spelt is a form of wheat. I was told by a nutritionist at first I could have spelt but that is not true. The forbidden list from this site may help you as a guideline of what he can't have. https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid=12 If you have any questions this is a great place to ask.
  17. Hmm then sounds like mono did not trigger celiac. Nope there is no treatment for mono Just drink plenty of fluids and try to get rest when you can. I started needing alot more sleep after I got mono. Did your doctor say if it was active or if you had it in the recent past?
  18. I decided to check the Delphi list about it since you mentioned it in your post. I found out some good news Prilosec OTC (1-800-759-4841) (vp=01/25/05) "Prilosec does not contain ingredients from gluten containing grains. It is gluten-free"
  19. Andrew- from the updated Delphi list: found good news that may help you out Prilosec OTC (1-800-759-4841) (vp=01/25/05) "Prilosec does not contain ingredients from gluten containing grains. It is gluten-free"
  20. The only thing I take is Pepto Bismol and I very rarely take that. I know there are side effects to about everything you take but given some are worse then others. I'm sure someone can help you out in this part of things more then I can...this isn't really my area of expertise..
  21. Mono triggered my celiac to activate...I was completely healthy until getting mono which started the rollercoaster ride. Could you have possibly had that which then activated your celiac to start as well? With mono I know some of the symptoms I had were light headedness, fatigue, nausea, and there are some more I had as well. There are many symptoms you...
  22. Do you have a gluten free medications list? That may help you...the delphi list has an extensive one. Also here is this sites meds list: https://www.celiac.com/st_prod.html?p_prodi...-46105145006.85 There is also one on glutenfreedrugs.com Tums does not use gluten as a filler but they will not guarantee that their suppliers ingredients are gluten...
  23. You will be fine with fasting ..that will not affect the test results. Let us know how they turn out and if you have any questions just ask.
  24. Yes in cases where there is malnutrition and where you do not absorb vitamins and nutrients properly then it will effect your height. I stopped growing around the time I got symptoms. Since getting off of gluten I have grown about an inch or so I guess. Not that I am supposed to be tall...alot of people on my moms side are short so that could also affect...
  25. I usually can see a pattern...I will get feeling just a little off about 5-10 minutes after and it progresses to get worse. My reactions last about 2 weeks though..some people don't get reactions that last that long. Since everyone is different it is hard to tell you specifically what will happen.
