  1. Did you ever have your Faecal pancreatic elastase-1 tested? I ALSO have the horizontal ridges on my nails - and the same types of pain, but like you - no answers. I think I am going to do a trial with pancreatic enzymes - I have been reading some articles, including one that 1 out of 3 Celiac disease patients could benefit from pancreatic enzyme supplementation...
  2. Here's yet another related article: Open Original Shared Link "evidence from a new study shows that around one third of these patients actually have a severe pancreatic exocrine insufficiency, which can be successfully managed by enzyme replacement therapy"
  3. Yes, I think I do - the only part I am not sure on is the colitis, but it follows that if your pancreas is not working right it does put stress on the colon, so it makes sense that they are related. How are you doing now? Have you found any relief? This post from Celiac.com might be of interest: Do Adult Celiacs with Pancreatic Insufficiency Require...
  4. Here is a related article from celiac.com: Do Adult Celiacs with Pancreatic Insufficiency Require Long-Term Enzyme Supplements?
  5. What type of enzymes are you taking?
  6. I did try eliminating Soy for awhile. I had an IGg ELISA Food Allergy test done that showed some sensitivities to a variety of foods, so I I actually eliminated ALL of the following for 3-5 months (depending on the severity of the results), and then reintroduced them, one per week. I did in general feel better after the many months I was off of all of...
  7. What is the reference range for your TTg test?
  8. I had an MRI of my thoracic spine - which came out clear. X-rays and exam showed some scoliosis, but nothing major. YES - I do have those pain points running along both sides of the spine - many spots along my spine I can push on and feel quite a bit of pain. Thankfully my thighs and hips do not hurt. Thanks for your message, if you have...
  9. My Celiac Diagnosis: - Diagnosed with Celiac Disease by an off-the charts tTg (Tissue transglutaminase) test, inflammation in my duodenum, and a small intestinal biopsy. - Symptoms were primarily neurological (tingling & numbness in my toes, fingers, head, paresthesia in my face). - Also had upper left quadrant pain - however my GI doc said that...

  14. What are all of the tests that should be run for follow-up & upon initial diagnosis in addition to the Thyroid Panel?
  15. How strict are you? Do you eat "gluten free" packaged food, or do you prepare everything for yourself? Have you ever tested your food?
  16. I'm not sure how they would know for sure that Celiac is the cause for Gallbladder problems, but if you have Celiac there is a good chance that it is related due to all of the inflammation in your gut.
  17. I'm not sure if there are any "typical" Celiac symptoms anymore.... there seem to be so many manifestations. According to Dr Peter Green (and if you don't have his book you should buy it), IgA and IgG Antigliadin Antibodies will disappear from the bloodstream faster after starting a gluten-free diet. IgA Tissue Transgulatminase is agreed to be one of...

  19. Once you found out you had pancreatitis, what did you do to help it?
  20. has your pain improved?
  21. I had elevated lipase around the time I was diagnosed
  22. Is the pain any worse when: - sitting - driving - moving around? Do you feel any pain in your back? I was diagnosed about 1.5 years ago and I took enzymes for awhile until my stool looked normal and I felt better. Not sure if they helped or not though... Problem is that now I feel bad again, the pain in my upper left quadrant is more intense...
  23. I would like to know if there are any massage therapies that can help with celiac pain. Also, I was wondering about trigger points & abdominal pain - are there things that can be done with massage therapy to free some tension in my abdominal muscles and if so how do I find a qualified therapist that knows how to do this?
  24. Bridget, How are you doing now? Any clarity on what caused the problem? I am having these exact same challenges - left upper quadrant abdominal pain and also "brusing" pain all over - my entire ribcage and most of my back is quite tender.
