  1. I think they have egg so, not really on topic. But, we often go off on tangents around here! Lol. Personally, I wouldn't eat anything the Op says is gluten-free at his restauruant. They bake many gluten things there and the flour must be everywhere. Probably lovely for some but probably not safe for Celiacs.
  2. Not familiar with them. Maybe read the ingredients? Or email/ call the company?
  3. They are a little different than regular goldfish crackers and come in several flavors. Open Original Shared Link
  4. You could make an envelope with parchment paper to toast them in. Or maybe toast them the old fashioned way - like before toasters? On a cookie sheet in the oven, Put some foil or parchment paper on it.
  5. Dr fasano. Here is a good explanation of his research with patients with "refractory" https://www.celiac.com/gluten-free/blog/1038/entry-1780-the-gluten-contamination-elimination-diet-summary-of-dr-fasanos-recent-paper/
  6. A MD will not offer things like Enterolab stool testing as they are not considered legitimate medical testing. I doubt any insurance would pay for it either. Open Original Shared Link "Why don’t you recognize tests (stool tests or otherwise) for non-celiac gluten sensitivity that are currently available through companies like Enterolab or C...
  7. I would go with the Celiac experts on this one. From my link- "Two genes are responsible for celiac disease (HLA-DQ2 & HLA-DQ8). If you have either of them, then you have the potential for the disease to activate at any age. "
  8. Open Original Shared Link it is a Celiac gene. Having the gene alone, does not make a Celiac diagnosis. About 30 % of people have one of the genes for Celiac. But only 1% have Celiac.
  9. I think she was trying to help you figure out what is making you feel bad by asking about the more common issues we see on this forum. I did answer your question about other grains. Look at the link, too. I guess that is the end of this discussion?
  10. Just a reminder - if you are expecting the GI to do an endoscopy to diagnose .celiac, you have to be eating a normal gluten diet.
  11. Open Original Shared Link "Does corn contain gluten? Numerous studies have failed to detect any immunogenicity by prolamines outside of wheat, barley, and rye. Therefore, corn doesn’t contain gluten, and neither do oats. Gluten is only found in the three orange boxes on the chart below. The term “corn gluten” is a misnomer, for it contains no gluten and i...
  12. I haven't tried this - but is this what you are looking for? Open Original Shared Link
  13. whey is part of milk.
  14. Many adults have an issue with lactose. For a person with Celiac disease, the part of the intestines that is damaged is the part that helps digest lactose. Many people get the ability to digest lactose back. Some do not, but, as previously stated, many adults cannot digest it.

    ARCHIVED Texas Roadhouse

This post is from 2006. Most restaurants change the menu in 8 years.
  16. I find I do better with gummies. Not sure why. You might check the sweeteners in them. Some bother people. Taking a vitamin with food is helpful to me. And not taking them all at once helps, too. You could try a sub-lingual B12. You put it under your tongue and let it melt.
  17. If you are near (I mean within an hours drive) you should go to Mariposa 0 either the Berkely/Oakland location or the little store in the Ferry building - down near Pier 39 tourist area. Open Original Shared Link I have heard that San Fran has a lot of good gluten-free options. You are covering a lot of distance there. I have heard that Sacramento...
  18. Last night we had lovely grilled pork chops. Lundberg mixed rice, homemade apple sauce, salad and some really soft sugar cookies I rolled in cinnamon. They are still nice and soft and moist today!

    ARCHIVED Flu Shot

Open Original Shared Link "Is it okay to get a flu shot if I have celiac disease? Yes, it’s fine to get a flu shot. The immune system of those with celiac disease has not been compromised. You should receive the same immunizations as healthy individuals."
  20. First, the last post on this thread is more than 3 years old. Any product info could have changed in that amount of time. Gluten can't enter through your skin. Even if it did, the Celiac antibody reaction takes place in the intestines. You could have some sort of contact allergy? You can call or email companies to find out if they put gluten or wheat...
  21. That is good to know. If its part of your job, that is OK. "my manager's unwillingness to bring on additional staff" Sounds like you don't have the time to be tracking people down who haven't paid their credit card bills!
  22. Please note - this thread is from 2004. Any product info is at least 10 years old.
  23. Maybe some of the vomiting is psychosomatic? By that I mean, you know foods are making you sick and your mind is trying to protect you? You might have actually had a reason to vomit (a virus, food poisioning, etc) the first few times or even a few times in between. Once you start vomiting, it can be hard to stop. It seems to get easier to vomit - the...

  25. Excellent suggestion! Or stand around the cookie table, and look at people like they are really stupid and ask " you still eat this s$#&?"
