  1. Last night we had Hot Pockets/ Not so Sloppy Sloppy Joes. Yum! Tonight rice, beans, corn, carrots, salsa, taco chicken left overs, cheese.
  2. In the US, if its wheat, it must be listed as such. Rye wouldn't be in these - it's usually just on bread or crackers made with wheat. Barley will be listed as barley or malt.
  3. It's pretty simple to get a blood test for Celiac. Any doctor can order it. Why not start there?
  4. I have used it and the target brand without trouble.
  5. It can take anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks to get the results. It depends on how busy the Pathology dept is , vacations, etc.
  6. You had that biopsied and it came back DH?
  7. Marigolds like lots of sun.
  8. At Xmas, mine made these necklaces out of packing peanuts, wads of foil (beads) and yarn. I put it on the Xmas tree. There was no way I was wearing that thing! lol They liked that. One year, for Fourth of July, they made a red, white & blue pasta necklace. I hung it up on a vase and it stayed for about 2 years until it faded so bad, I could get...
  9. And the Costco in Overland Park, Kansas? That is the one closest to me.
  10. Wonder what she decided to do? We gave her lots of good suggestions and advice ( to not worry about the pasta necklace being in her home). We Celiacs have to alter plenty of things in our lives, it seems a shame to fret over something that isn't going to harm us. Hopefully, she had a nice Mother's Day.
  11. Antibiotics give some people diarrhea. But kimchi is spicy, alcohol , antibiotics, etc. - a lot of stomach busters without gluten. "What are the effects of drinking alcohol while taking antibiotics? Answers from James M. Steckelberg, M.D. Antibiotics and alcohol can cause similar side effects, such as stomach upset, dizziness and drowsiness. Combining...
  12. "Broth" is usually water, chicken "juice" or salt. IF it contains wheat, it must list that, Cooked by the store chicken is completely different than raw chicken.
  13. I know you put this in the Super sensitive section but I will comment anyway on something that you said . For me, who is not SS, all that Gluteny flour in the air in my kitchen for 24+ hours would bother me. It falls everywhere. You would want to keep all of your stuff out of there for a day or two. I would think from the SS perspective, this would be...
  14. You might want to check some reliable sources like the University of Chicago Celiac Center website. 3 months gluten free is long enough to affect the test results. Especially in a very young child who may not have made as many antibodies as an adult.
  15. I am curious.... What is the diagnosis used to justify a feeding tube? That is not a normal way to feed a child. What sort of follow-up or additional treatment/ tests are ongoing?
  16. I have never seen any of the major ones having gluten. It seems to be something that gets passed around a lot.
  17. My kid at CSU said there was snow on the ground when he got up today. Not sure if they got more.
  18. Salmon on the grill with a grilled pineapple " salsa", sort of stir fry veggies - fresh green beans, carrots and sweet onion with Teryaki, Schar baguette with garlic cream cheese & sea salt caramel and raspberry chocolate Talenti gelato!
  19. If you have been gluten-free for a year..... And are still getting symptoms - perhaps it's not gluten? You really can't get an accurate blood test or endoscopy after a year gluten-free. Might be a good idea to expand your thinking and see if it is another problem.
  20. 30% of the population have genes for celiac but only about 1% have Celiac. While DQ 8 is rarer, it does not mean you have Celiac. I don't understand why he would do an expensive genetic test and miss the regular Celiac blood work? They are quite accurate . Perhaps you need to print off some info for the doctor from The Univ of Chciago Celiac Center?
  21. You sound like you might have Celiac disease. And it sounds like you were never tested for celiac, so you could have it. Would explain your severe reactions. Maybe you should just tell them you have Celiac and you have been advised to not eat food prepared by others?
  22. I split this out to its own topic. I thought the OP might get more help in his/her own topic rather than tagging onto a dormant one.
  23. I didn't say you did. Well...actually you said you did but I just wanted to clarify that the statement isn't required by law. Some of us have offered suggestions but you don't seem to want to hear them. Some of them had nothing to do with cc. I suggested you might want to track your symptoms and what you ate in case it was another food bothering you...
  24. Sounds like you have learned the first rule of Celiac - ALWAYS read the ingredients
  25. That's the name! I knew there was an M and an S and a D. Couldn't remember MSDS! On construction materials & art supplies, I have called the manufacturer and said I have an allergy and don't want to touch things with wheat. They will look and tell me it doesn't contain any.
