  1. Used some left over turkey I put in the freezer and made a Bisquick Turkey pot pie. Yum!
  2. Just an FYI, you are responding to a post from 2009. Might not get a response.
  3. It says the same ingredients for the fries. For reasons I don't completely understand, the fries have been tested as gluten-free. The tiny bit of wheat is used in the pre-fry stage. Looks like it it the same with the hash browns.
  4. Are you thinking you might have Celiac disease? If so, you should be eating a gluten containing diet and see an MD for Celiac blood tests.
  5. McDonalds only fries fries and hash browns in their fryers. At least, that is the company policy and the fries are cooked at different temp than other things.
  6. "spices" must only contain spices. IN the US, they can't contain grain
  7. Can you copy the celiac blood tests exactly as they are printed with the ranges?
  8. I don't know why anyone with Celiac would try to eat at Taco Bell. They have a total of 3 food items that are gluten-free. And that is without part of the ingredients. "Suggestions for Wheat and Gluten Sensitive Individuals: Express Taco Salad (order Chicken instead of Beef) Tostada without Red Sauce Fiesta Taco Salad (order Chicken instead of Beef...
  9. There are a few that know how to do gluten-free pasta correctly. I ask that question to a manager. Usually I call ahead.
  10. Why not keep the racks in the oven while its on self clean?
  11. A lot of people have good luck with Chick Fila , IN and Out burgers, Five Guys, Wendys (say allergy & get a baked potato unwrapped or chili or Frosty), most frozen yogurt places...
  12. Labcorp seems to be a good company. I have had blood work from them, just haven't done any genetic.
  13. They are bigger than gluten-free bread but I have never had them melt. I usually fold up the extra.
  14. Sometimes OB/Gyn types are more agreeable to this stuff. Especially if you want to maybe have another baby. It is important to know about Celiac disease in that case.
  15. You might call them and ask. I think in some places you can. Not up to date on these laws any longer. When I had mine done, I made sure they sent a copy of the results to me and to the doctor. If you need a doc to order them, and you don't want to ask this doc, your OB/GYN could order it, too - if you have an agreeable one. I just told my doc I wanted...
  16. I haven't put anything gooey in mine yet. I just take a paper towel and wipe the crumbs out. I like the Toast It kind. They are much taller than the bread, so I know my bread is covered. I know people who travel a lot and are not gluten-free. They use them in the hotel breakfast buffet toasters because they are a bit OCD and hate the crumby toasters...
  17. I used Quest diagnostics for the blood test. You can call them and ask how much. I would pick a reputable lab like Quest. I think it was $260? Quest filed it with my insurance and they actually paid for all but $25!
  18. Stool tests are not considered a valid test for Celiac disease. You might want to consider seeing a MD, either a GI or primary care, instead of a therapist (not sure what this is? ) and get the Celiac blood tests. Open Original Shared Link
  19. Spoke too soon. We are still OK but then had a tornado about an hour south. It was on the ground for 30 minutes! Fortunately, its mostly farms. Nothing much in the KC area - rain, wind, a little hail - just the usual What tortillas do you use for the fajitas? Or do you? Isn't that what Hubs are for? Heavy lifting?
  20. In the US, I have never seen a soda with barley or wheat. Artificial colors are not a concern for Celiacs. Open Original Shared Link
  21. Maybe that is an argument you could take up with the Univ of Chicago, Dr. Fasano and some of the other researchers? IH didn't make the discovery. She & I just report the current info from reputable Celiac centers and researchers. As for the swab tests - are you asking if you would miss some of the DNA by not swabbing properly? I don't see how...
  22. We are fine. It was worse to the east of us but they listen to the KC TV channels, so it always look like us.
  23. I am glad you are doing better. If this continues to be a problem for you, you might need to get some help. Maybe some counseling/training and some medication until you have learned the coping skills?
  24. To follow that up - please be careful of your cookie sheets, mixer, etc. Use parchment paper on the cookie sheets, make sure the mixer is extremely clean, don't use your sugar if you may have used a measuring cup in flour first at some point, etc. To be honest, I don't eat foods made by someone I don't know well. I think it is nice that you want to...
  25. Save yourself the trouble. Get some toast it bags.
