  1. I think this is why : They can say gluten-free because it is the " grass" and sprouts. There is supposedly no " gluten" until there is a seed. They have to say it contains wheat because it does contain part of the wheat plant. Would I eat this? No way! I always wonder how they can be so certain the " grass" doesn't have a left over seed or a few new...
  2. You have any other choices? LIke - California Pizza Kitchen, OUtback Steak House, PF Changs, Pei Wei, Bonefish, Red Robin ?
  3. I have been gluten-free & diagnosed for over 4 years. I have not developed any additional intolerance or autoimmune diseases. I know several people locally with Celiac Disease who don't have other issues. I know one girl with a lot of allergies but she has had those since birth. Some "intolerances" are normal in lots of people - even non-Celiacs...
  4. Addy - I went to a local Celiac Support group thing. This lady had made the flat bread with that flour mix you got at Costco. It is dense and dry - not in a bad way. Like a pita. Great with hummus. Freeze well. They make lots of things like pizza with it. Cut them in pieces and you could serve them with hummus and other dips to GEs (Gluten EAters...
  5. They have changed the packaging lately. The Seven Grain no longer has the "San Juan" part of the name. Some stores might get more once the old packaging is gone. I get it at many different groceries in the freezer section. Whole Foods and those kinds of places usually have it. I have even seen it at Target. It is based in the Denver area, so it may be...
  6. You, too. come on over to the Dinner chat. Don't be put off by the ones that fancy themselves "gourmets". Some of us like to spend less time cooking. I like 1 dish meals that have left-overs! And cook extra to use later in the week. LIke - grill some chicken for tonight with BBQ sauce on it & grill some plain at the same time to add to your tacos...
  7. I use some of the tortillas like Rudis, Udis or Sandwich Petals to make grilled sandwiches or pizzas. I never have much luck getting them to roll. I like to roll ham around a little cheese and maybe a slice of red pepper. I also like Cruchmaster crackers and am happy with cheese and crackers instead of a sandwich. I make rice and beans like you are...
  8. I take it. My Celiac blood tests are negative.
  9. If you would read the info on the site we linked you to , you would see that, even if you don't have a visible reaction, you would still be damaging yourself. So, it is possible that you won't feel immediately horrible, but it would catch up to you eventually. And why risk all the possible side effects associated with untreated Celiac?
  10. Perhaps having 2 genes just gives you a better chance that 1 of them will act up and start the Celiac?
  11. I was hoping she would type the whole thing. I thought maybe it was the IGA and IGG version of a test and she didn't put the whole thing.
  12. This is just my personal opinion, and it probably isn't worth much to you, but.... I wouldn't let a dentist diagnose or treat me for anything but dental things. I would read info from reputable researchers/ medical centers on mercury poisoning and yeast. Theses issues are not that common. I would hate for you to hurt yourself with the treatments or mis...
  13. Sounds like you know that isn't a good idea. Open Original Shared Link "A lifetime commitment The gluten-free diet is a lifetime requirement. Eating any gluten, no matter how small an amount, can damage your intestine. This is true for anyone with the disease, including people who do not have noticeable symptoms. It can take weeks for antibody levels...
  14. I never eat these. They may be fine but, it is the principle of the thing! I feel like they are too lazy to clean the machines or something.
  15. Welcome to the club! Unfortunately, the secret decoder rings have been on back order for 2 years.
  16. I have been drinking it. Not sure where the gluten would be. I would believe the people that make it over some odd post on here. Of course, I am a person who makes odd posts on here......
  17. I really don't know much about this. I would suggest you consult a physician and follow a medical protocol. I'm not sure what a person can really, safely do if you have Mercury poisoning. I think that can be a pretty serious illness. Open Original Shared Link Looks like the kind in dental fillings comes out the far end if swallowed. So I wouldn't...
  18. Last night I made some brown rice with shredded carrots and a packet of chicken bouillon. Then I added the 2 partial packs of frozen corn in the freezer, 1 can of black beans, 1 can of pintos, a jar of salsa a little water to rinse out the salsa jar & covered with a little cheese. Hub wasn't thrilled with it but then he started eating it, and loved...
  19. For Easter we grilled steak, had a sort of garlic mashed potato and salad. Chocolate pudding pie on a pre-made graham cracker crust! MI-Del makes gluten-free pie crusts. I saw graham cracker and chocolate cookie. I make the chocolate cookie one but the pre-made costs the same as the bag of cookies to make it and it sticks together better. And of course...
  20. I know someone who is a travel agent selling cruises. Her grandson has Celiac and she said that in the last couple of years, the major ones do a great job with gluten-free.
  21. I don't think it ever reads "0".
  22. Let put all the info together so it makes more sense and everyone has all the info
  23. You need the ranges but it looks negative - not surprising considering the age of the child and the fact that she has been gluten-free for months.
  24. I have seen many stories on here of people being told " its white flour, it isn't made with wheat. It's made with rice". I told my then, about 14 yr old son, that this person said I could eat white bread because it's made from rice flour not wheat. He said, " That's great!........wait.....What? Regular White bread is made with rice flour? really? I...
