  1. If everyone is drinking coffee and coffee cross- reactivity comes up - it is funny. And I have provided info from legitimate sources many times, including this thread, but I realize some don't choose to read them or believe them over some Internet blog by a " home economist" or " natural doctor"
  2. I don't know where you live, but wheat isn't hidden. Most countries have a law that it must be disclosed in the ingredients. it makes no sense that you can eat a large amount of wheat and claim to have no issues, yet a tiny amount that might or might not be in BBQ sauce bothers you. I haven't seen any BBQ sauces with wheat- maybe malt vinegar is the gluten...
  3. Even if you subbed gluten-free for gluteny, you are likely still getting a different amount of fiber and maybe a few ingredients you never ate much of before. For example, most gluten-free bread doesn't contain as much fiber as many gluten breads. gluten-free bread can have more " gums" than regular bread. Sometimes, it's just a matter of sorting this...
  4. FYI - this thread is over 4 years old. Product info and ingredients can change in that amount of time.
  5. Exactly! Which why we don't usually suggest it to new members looking for advice and facts. Someone has started a thread to discuss Cross- reactivity theory. Perhaps you would find that a good thread to discuss these theories?
  6. You know you are responding to someone who asked this question in 2006? Very few people are still around the forum after 7 years
  7. You are bringing up a 6 year old thread. Ingredients change over the years. Please don't go by any old info- check for current info & ingredients
  8. This is a 7 year old thread. All info in previous posts could be outdated. Sorry. Counted wrong - 8 years old. Bath and Body Works are constantly changing products and formulations.
  9. Sorry. Maybe I shouldn't have put that on here. It's something they told me, in person and showed me some " research" results (notebook) at ICDS. Somehow, they still thought it made their point on Cross- reactivity. I argued in circles with them while a doctor looked on and tried not to laugh. If I get a chance, they gave me a thumb drive and I'll look...
  10. Just a FYI - looks like this poster hasn't been on the forum since 2009
  11. celiac Disease is not an allergy, so the same things may not apply.
  12. Once again, I will link to what the Celiac Disease center at the univ of Chicago says. I realize some people won't read it or, for some reason, believe it, but I'll try again. . To me, its a better place to get medical info than a chiropractor or " natural doctor" or a " nutritionist" - none of which are usually MDs or DOs. Open Original Shared Link...
  13. Maybe gluten isn't your problem, then? Maybe it's something else that is eaten with them?
  14. A story from the international celiac Symposium. They are serving only gluten-free food for breakfast, lunch and snacks and the opening reception. So we are all sitting there one morning, drinking our coffee, and the docs are talking about Celiac myths. When the nonsense about coffee " cross- reacting" came up, everyone had a good laugh. Like Steph...
  15. Are you diagnosed with Celiac?
  16. So..... if its just rosemary... they can't tell you anything else is in it. It sounds like it is gluten free. They label it as such. Many of us use this product.
  17. One day gluten free shouldn't make a difference. If you have symptoms, I'm not sure why insurance wouldn't cover the tests. As long as they are from legitimate labs and a "real" doctor. I know insurance won't cover medically dubious tests tests from fringe places like Enterolabs or Cyrex.
  18. Why not get tested before you go gluten free? If you have an actual diagnosis, you might find that helpful.
  19. I really don't worry about things that won't get in my mouth like mascara and eyeliner. I think ELF products say gluten-free on them? I forgot to look today at Target. They are very inexpensive.
  20. Hiere is a good and simple explanation of how distillation works for everyone that has forgotten 5 th grade science class ( for me, it feels like that was about 100 years ago) https://www.celiac.com/articles/23350/1/Common-Misunderstandings-of-Gluten-Free-Alcoholic-Beverages/Page1.html "To borrow Dr. Tichy's analogy, the distillation process is like boiling...
  21. Did you read psawyer's repsonse? I just look for obvious things like - wheat germ oil. Even then, with the exception of lip products, I'm not eating them or getting a significant amount in my mouth.
  22. We were just discussing Physicians Formula: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/105735-physicians-formula-makeup-december-2013/#entry900889
  23. Just an FYI, you are responding to a post from almost 4 years ago. I'm sure we have had a more recent discussion about DH and how it presents?
  24. It's not my opinion, it is the opinion of celiac disease researchers.
  25. There is no reliable evidence, currently, that a Celiac reacts to another food as if it were gluten. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
