  1. I have that issue with iron pills, too. Didn't hurt me when I had diarrhea. as you heal, you will absorb the iron & B12 better. Make sure you take some sublingual ( put it under your tongue) B12. That helps your body use the iron you have. You might be able to just add iron rich foods to your diet. remember not to eat dairy with the iron food ( about...
  2. where's the protein? Cake for dinner or breakfast is OK once in awhile, but you consistently eat small amounts of foods and call it a meal. This isn't good for your health.
  3. Had our Lego League Scrimmage yesterday. concessions went well. Everything was donated by parents. They sprung on me that we were having a raffle on Tue. Kids do not think ahead! mad scramble to have something to raffle. The giant 54 pack of Frito Lay chips assortment and the 2 large bags of candy that were not used by the concession stand were a big...
  4. Glad it worked for you! I always bring more food than I need. Things never seem to go as planned. For example, A few weeks ago, we went to Colorado to visit oldest son and let younger one take a campus tour. I knew there was a place I could eat at the school food court, so I planned to eat a soup and salad for lunch. Just in case, I took a Go Picnic...
  5. addressing the genetic issues: about 30% of the population has the genes for Celiac. Only about 1% of us "lucky" ones have the gene activated. Accidental, occasional, glutening: It will happen. That doesn't mean that it is "destrying" you. If you have a postive blood test, you get it re-tested in 6 months. It should be way down or megative. Then...
  6. Please notice that this thread is over 3 years old. Products can change in that time. Always read the package for the most up-to-date ingredients.
  7. I have never seen a mozzarella that wasn't. Read the ingredients.
  8. I think you should email the corporate office. Tell them which one you went to, the date and time. Then what happened. This is a company with a corporate go policy and they might want to know.
  9. There are free screenings in some areas. Chicago does one in October. I sawone on the Calender on this site for florida. MIght see if your local Celiac support group has any info.
  10. Perhaps half a Kong type dog chew toy? One of the kids broke something and distributed the pieces around so no one would notice? Something that fell out of a plane? A meteor from the far distant (and now extinct) Rubber planet? That give me an idea... alien rubber?
  11. When the system was upgraded, any comments in your profile from other people, lost the part that showed someone else posted. It now looks like you posted them. It appears that, if someone was to comment or post on your profile now, it will show who posted it. I agree, it looks odd.
  12. Here are the 2 recent threads on this topic: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/97552-apple-pie-crust/ https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/97106-favorite-pie-crust-recipe/
  13. From the University of Chicago: Open Original Shared Link In blood tests, are false positives less common than false negatives? Even though blood tests are quite accurate, they are falsely positive 1-3% of the time (i.e., being positive without the person having celiac) and, although less commonly, falsely negative 1-2% of the time (i.e., being normal...

    ARCHIVED Eggs?

Good to know its a real thing. I know someone who says she is allergic to eggs but would chow down on cookies and cakes. Of course she is also allergic to any foods she doesn't like, too. She is also the person who told me she researched Celiac alot because she thought she might have it. She found that the only way to know if you have it is, when...

  16. Perhaps today's viagra spammer could be of some assistance?
  17. Don't belong to Sam's. Just got back from trying the other Walmart & found some of the little straw kinds. They had 2 boxes. Must be a big demand for coffee stir sticks. HI Suze!
  18. n Unless 8 of those hours are meditation and intertube water polo, you have lost your mind. I have been searching for "coffee stirrers". You know the little straws or even better, the little sticks you stir a cup of coffee with? They only exist at Starbucks? Not at Costco, Walmart, a grocery store,Target, office supply store (they have cups...
  19. I harvested 3 last night! Using them for parking signs for a robotics event. Probably cover them but might be fun to tell peopleto park in the Romney or Delaney lot.
  20. Open Original Shared Link I made it my picture. Gracie is the white & black thing by Coop's back end.
  21. I like to take these. I get them at Target or one of the local groceries. Read the box, there are a few that are not gluten-free. Open Original Shared Link You could take a cooler and re-fill with ice to keep some basic things like hard boiled eggs or cheese cool. Have you asked the hotel for a frdige? Many will provide one if you tell them its...
  22. All sodas are gluten-free. Exception might be a small batch craft root beer made with malt. So the main ones like coke & Mt Dew are fine.
  23. Hopefully they are checking for these things? Open Original Shared Link What else can cause damage to the small intestine other than celiac disease? There are many causes for villus atrophy, the most common being immune deficiencies, food allergies and Giardia infections. In addition, Crohn’s disease is known to be often associated with low positive t...
  24. I posted it because, right after the upgrade, a member had scanned and posted test results from thier computer. I assumed everyone could do it,too. maybe that was changed and they missed the Mods? Maybe none of us were meant to be able to do that.
  25. Sorry guys. I tried to see it as a guest and couldn't. Maybe only Mods can do this? Right after "The Big Change-over" a member had posted a scan from his computer of his blood work. Maybe that was tweaked out. I put the picture on FB, too.
